Absolutely gorgeous place but WARNING!! The weather can change quickly. It was partly sunny when we got up there in late June. Most of the loop around the 7 lakes was smooth sailing. But towards the end a cloud rolled in and the visibility went down significantly within about 60 seconds. I could barely see my friend 10 feet in front of me. We were able to find a little cabin and wait for it to blow over. We were able to navigate back, but it was a little stressful. Point being: bring extra food, extra water, and extra layers of clothing in case you get stuck. The trails are marked okay...but not perfect. So as long as you are prepared, I highly recommend this hike. Such a stunning area. And taking the chairlift was definitely worth it- gave us more time at the top.

Very beautiful national park, we took the lift and walked for 3 hours around the lakes. The temperature was great, though it might get very cold on a windy day. The walk is suitable for children as well, but the initial 30 min climb might be tough for people with disabilities.

We did the 7 lakes hike. Magnificent views, beautiful landscape, feasible in duration and difficulty. It took us a 6h hike from the upper ski lift to the highest peak and back to the lower ski lift. A must do when in Bulgaria!

Beautiful national park. It pays to come and visit it. Admission is free. Inside the park is the highest peak in the Balkans, Musala 2925m which is not difficult to conquer. At the top there are a couple of beautiful lakes. You can walk the path from Borovets all the way to the top but then you need to sleep in one of the mountain lodges. Or you can go by gondola, also from Borovets, with such an option you can climb to the top and go down in one day.

Rila is one of the montains that I visited the most, Musala, Rilska Skakavica, Rila Lakes, Belmeken are places which everyone should see and experience.

You can make new discoveries in every part of your walks with the wonderful nature view. In this intriguing place, you can spend days without getting bored and create new activities for yourself. I recommend that you write it among the places you must visit.

We did a 2-day hike from the start of the lift place (skipping the lift) to the famous *place name* waterfall, and then slept at ivan vazov hut. Next day hiked down to the rila monastery. Total amount 25 km, but with an ascension of more than 1,5 km on the first day and also down 1,5km the next day, in combination with some very steep routes, so don't be fooled by the relative low amount of hiking kilometres. Nice place to visit. Not far away from Sofia(1:30h). An easy drive. You need to pay 5 leva to park near the lift to the 7 lakes lounge. If you want to walk to there just walk it is about 2 hours walk and can eat blueberry if you go into the right season. After that give your self 5 hour if you want to see all the 7 lakes.

Awesome hike to the lakes. Unfortunately we ran out of time so could only hike to the bottom two lakes as the chairlift was out of action and was not carrying people to the top so we had to hike up. The hike was worth it however and we had lunch with a beautiful view next to the second lake.

Great place to visit even for someone who hasn't trekked before. The views from the ski lift and ofcourse the lakes were all spectacular. There is also a little cafe near the ski lift on top in case you need to use either of those facilities.

Words can't describe how wonderful this place is. You have to see it, feel it and experience it yourself to understand. People ask me why do I come here since I've already been here. Well, exactly! As for the park itself, it's clean, marked and there are recent additons like the tourist paths on the main route - stone slab pavements, wooden railings, stone fences - to make the trail even more pleasant and comfortable for tourists. I've seen the men who carried the slabs on their mules and how they laid them out slab by slab with smiles and joy on their faces and I can only imagine how they have build the rest. They fill me gratitude and joy with every step I make on them. The panoramic terrace ia now a safer spot for enjoying the view back into the valley and making pictures thanks to the surrounding wooden railings. Finally, in addition to the seven Rila lakes there are many other places with gorgeous views and enchanting atmosphere in the vicinity of the lakes. If you have a whole day, you can visit most of them if not all. Truly an unforgettable and captivating place.

It is so natural area to spend time with your lovers. I have visited there in August 2020. The daily temperature was 16 degree celcius. Nights were more colder than this of course. ?. You have to wear good rain jacket and polar hat while walking on the mountain area. Cause so many times there are rains by shortly periods. This area is included the highest peak of the Balkanian Mountains. So good place to spend time speacially in the hot summer times. There are small hotels as a big house to stay. Villagers sale; home made or natural productions & local fruits. You have to go there by your private car and also dont forget getting your own mountain bikes to use there by fun.

The best place to go and have some 'zen' experience!! The lakes, the cliffs, the pines and the rocks, all the nature is just so fresh and sooting that you will feel calmer and trouble-free the moment you set foot in the mountain.

Borovets is a great place to go for Skiing.
