Devetashka Cave offers really impressive experience to its visitors. Its enormous size and the three openings on the ceiling are impressive. So whole travelling around Romania we took a full day drive to reach it. Was it worth it. Not really - no if it's that far you have to drive. Certainly you should not miss it if you are close by. The most spectacular part is open to visit but that consists of maybe 500meters out of 2,5 km od caves - the rest reserved for bats.

The place is amazing, the view is one of a kind. On a hot summer day, the stone walls offer a cool atmosphere, you could stay there all day long.

Entry was very cheap 3lev per adult, child was free, parking is a bit chaotic, the caves are vast! It was a unique experience but unfortunately due to it being an important site for the Conservation of wild bats you are limited to how far you can go into the caves. There are what looks like large storage tanks in the ground which I have read were used to store oil in the past. You will need good sturdy footwear but most should be manageable for everyone.
