I don't think you can find a better hostel than this in Bulgaria. Everything is as you want it to be. Attention has been paid to every little detail. If you come home late at night, neither the doors nor the floor squeek - so you can sneak in without waking up other people. Even the toilet paper is nice at this place. The introduction when you arrive is also spot on, there is not a single piece of information you will be missing, and every piece of information they give is useful. Also, Chris and the staff have super good humer, and they are spreading the good vibes all over the hostel. The building is very old, and Chris (the owner) can tell you much more about it if you are into that. The people staying here are more of the relaxed type of travellers. If there should be any point of improvement it would probably be adding an extra bathroom. But really, the place is so nice you don't care if the bathroom is occupied. I wish we had time to stay longer.

We had a great time at Hostel Old Plovdiv. It is situated in a charming and characteristic building in the historic center of Plovdiv. The neighborhood is full of character and all the touristic highlights are within walking distance. The hostel has a great atmosphere with othere travellers and the staff is very friendly, welcoming and helps you to find your way in Plovdiv. We travelled with young children and they loved it. Great first experience for them in a hostel 😉

Great people when I stayed but a quiet hostel which has sometimes groups and families, best possibly for this type of traveller but I was fine on my own. Breakfast was convenient in the hostel and the fridge and cooking options are limited so worth noting. AC in the rooms was a dream and I loved the Cat! Sad to say goodbye but really happy I booked this hostel and will happily return one day. I used the after hours check in and it was easy! Taxis do not like taking you to old town though sadly so I did have to make my own way there.

This is one of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had. People were so friendly and even tough I was in “discrete” mode they still made me feel comfortable and at home It’s such a great place. Unfortunately I’ve had to leave way earlier due to a family emergency Yet I’ve enjoyed every single of the 3 days I’ve stayed there And Hristo is a super caring person

This is one of the cozyest, calmest and cleanest hostels I have ever been in. The atmosphere there is very calm, but also open to get to know new people. When we arrived they had written our name as a welcome, and there is also a really cute cat waling around there. I would recommend this hostel if you are looking for something cheap and relaxing, it is generally something I think you should get to experience whilst in Plovdiv:)

The building located in Old Town has a vintage 19th century feel to it. Very cool spot, comfortable rooms, lovely guests and kind reception. Hanging out in the garden is a great place to meet new friends.

Is a very nice hostel no doubt, but some of the guest keep talking until midnight at the garden, and in our room we could hear their conversation very clear and loud. Sadly there's no staff nor house rule that impose rule about being quiet after certain time

Amazing atmosphere. Genuine old house in every detail. Some amenties are limited due to keep original but a great experience you can feel the old stuff.

I really liked this place because of its safety, pleasant atmosphere, kind and polite staff, clean and neat bedrooms and bathrooms. The lock, however, was not working and it's a good thing I didn't have anything very important in my backpack so I just put it in the wardrobe. The breakfast was good, I ate the vegetables (but I was even allowed to bring my noodles and coffee with me.) I'd definitely recommend this place to every Plovdiv tourist that comes by!

Very kind staff. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and they let us enter to drop our bags and sleep for a couple hours. Installations are very authentic in the old town and super well located. Would reccomend for a quick visit in Plovdiv !

Beautiful guest house in the old part of Plovdiv. It's a old house that still has the original ceiling, wall paint and the owner has placed some nice antiques in the rooms so that the place is full of character. The garden in the back, the lemonade in the garden everything was great. If you are a light sleeper, this may not be a great choice since it's an old house and it creaks when people walk, close doors etc

I had a great stay. The girl working at the reception was incredibly friendly, the room was beautiful and it is located in the center of the old town which is worth seeing. Would stay again

Wow! One of the best hostels I've been to. It is in the heart of the old city.. a short walking distance to Kapena, the main street of the city. When I arrived at the hostel I was greeted by Lia who explained to me in a very pleasant way about the hostel. I also liked that they wrote my name on the board..something that made me smile :) The hostel has an inner courtyard where you can sit there and get to know people. In the morning they indulge in free lemonade and tea. I recommend anyone who wants to come to a hostel in Plovdiv to come to this hostel! Lia, thank you very much for everything! Thanks to you my stay was very pleasant.

What an experience!! The hostel is a characteristic heritage house built on top of the old ruins, dating back to the 18th century. The staff is definitely the highlight. Arriving there on a hot summer day, the lovely lady at the reception took me to the beautiful patio where I was given fresh lemonade and a comprehensive guide on the city's highlights and things to do. The adorable cat, Venita (Am I spelling it correctly?), added an extra charm to the place. The beds are comfortable, and there are big lockers with keys provided. I stayed in room 7 on the second floor, and the bathroom and shower were clean. The patio is great for relaxation, and the common room is nicely decorated and cozy! I loved the place so much that I extended my stay. Hristo, the owner, was very helpful, giving clear instructions on how to get to the hostel and providing assistance when I wanted to extend my stay and made some mistakes.

It has won the best hostel title in Bulgaria several times. They provide information about the city over the map and sightseeing places. Situated in the Old town the hostel is very close to the center. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms are clean. It actually is located in an old house. They have free breakfast. If you are travelling across Bulgaria and plan to go to Plovdiv don't hesitate to stay in this hostel.

A nice experience in a perfect location, just in the middle of old city center of Plovdiv (across Balabanov house). Perfect communication with the owner. who also helped me to find free parking. The nice interior garden is a plus.

A beautiful old building transformed into a welcoming hostel in the middle of Plovdiv's Old Town. Service is brilliant from the very helpful staff, you can buy beers in the lobby and all the homemade lemonade, tea and coffee are all free. Showers are all hot and very roomy, which is something really special for a hostel like this. Only minor downside has to do with the beds. They are lovely, old-fashioned and quite comfy, but they aren't the most structurally sound. Loved the welcome message in Irish for us, nice touch!

A unique place in the heart of the Old Town! I had never stayed anywhere quite like this before, and it was great, especially for the price. The house is quite creaky as it is old, but the rooms are clean and the breakfast is good.

Everything was clean, old fashioned and the receptionist was very passionate about her job. Made the experience even better. The shower and bathroom was very fresh and you can enjoy a really hot shower here as you wish. Close to resturants, bars, and only a 5 min walk to the square. The beds was comfortable and a spacy room. You get more than you pay for. You can ask for guidance if needed. Worth 5/5 Stars. I stayed for 3 nights. Im from Sweden.

This was actually a very suprising hotel! At first glance I didn't expect the best but it turned out to be a neat hostel. Great service. The only bad thing is when you stay more than one night, the breakfast is always the same. Although I think this isn't meant to be

We stayed 3 nights and everything was perfect . The owner was available texting on WhatsApp and by email for any information needed to arrange our arrival. The staff was discreet and nice. The shared areas and the rooms are clean and the breakfast was very good too. We recommend this Hostel.

I was positively surprised by this hostel. A very nice place to stay in the city. I stayed just overnight to get some rest before continuing my journey towards Smolyan, but I would love to stay there longer if I had more spare time. There's a very high chance I will stay there next time I'll be visiting Bulgaria.

This is an elegant old house that has been turned into one of the best backpacker hotels in the world. If you rent a room (like us) it will have a bunch of single beds in it. Not ideal for a romantic get away but great for seeing Plovdiv. It is in the center of thenold town, thus close to everything

One of my best hostel experiences ever! Rooms are big and stylish old-school. Personnel is very friendly. Breakfast is nice and people are just great. Good internet so that I could even work from garden. Just big shout-out to the owners and workers. Great place to stay and best price-qualify ratio P. S. As a person from Ukraine I felt very welcomed and safe, thanks to workers and other guests

We stayed here for one night and it was absulately great. Right in the middle of old town and walking distance to all the sights. Rooms are very clean, great breakfast, 24/7 free tea, coffee and lemonade, and great host. Our host went extra mile to help us out with our stay. I will definitely stay here next time I'm in Plovdiv and highly recommend it.

Beautiful historic building in a fantastic location. Excellent easy booking via WhatsApp. A good choice of room size, each room featuring traditional decor and clean, comfy linen. This was great for us as we were a group of 7. The fridge with complementary free homemade lemonade and 2lev beers was a great tough. We will be back!
