Absolutely outstanding cave at the heart of the Rhodopes mountain! The main chamber is tremendous and one cannot avoid staring at it for 10-20 minutes. It could easily fit 2-3 Olympic pools. The bursting river which goes through it is also amazing and one of the main attractions because it suddenly appeares and disappears in the cave. The main road to Trigrad leads to a parking next to Devil's Throat Cave. I would definitely recommend visiting it in any time of the year!

If you are a cave lover then it's a must visit. The main feature is a cave waterfall that flows deep under the cave system for almost 2 hours. The name of the cave comes from the roaring sound that is produced as a result of the waterfall.

We had a great experience here. The drive was a bit of a challenge and it was difficult to find a good place to park as the place is really overcrowded. But it was worth it. The tour only happens once every full hour so try to match that time so you don't have to wait too long. The cave was very impressive and the guide was friendly. At the time he only spoke Bulgarian, but I had a good translator with me. Recommended to see as it is a unique experience.

The cave is partly artificial and partly natural. Very steep stairs help and anyone in good shape can make it, but in spite of the freshness of the cave you will probably perspire. The temperature inside is about 10 degrees and it is humid due to the spectular cascade and river inside. After climbing you emerge in the sun and can see the wild river and buy some tea or souvenirs.

An unnecessary cave. If you have nothing better to do then maybe. The road is beautiful but the cave is dark and uninteresting. The tour is in Bulgarian only.

Amazing cave with stunning views but due to steep steps it is not for everyone.

Worth a visit. It is a real big cave as such. You have to pay to get in but not expensive. Mind you, you have to do some stairs. But i side is really huge.

Not much to see inside but definitely worth a visit. A bit tricky for the less mobile people as lots of stairs but overall great. The story behind the cave is interesting

One of my favorite caves - it is not big/lomg per se nor does it have a lot of structures (as it is a young cave). However it houses one of the largest in-cave waterfalls and the only room is absolutely humongous. It is also connected to local mythology (primarily the Orpheus myth is connected with this cave). The sense that this place gives is otherworldly!

Great little adventure but be aware it is a workout to climb the stairs out of the cave.

Great place for visiting in Rodopi mountains! One of the best location in area! Cave has lot of stairs going up so make sure your physical condition allows you to make it!

The cave: Didn't really live up to our expectations. It's basically one big space, with incredibly steep steps and... That's it. The tour guide was with us the first 5 mins and left us to go ahead. The talk wasn't really anything special, just the legend and no information about what we will see inside, how old are the rocks, what type are there and etc. There isn't any wait time, just keep in mind that each enter will be at xx:00hr. So if u come at like 13:25, you will have to wait to 14:00 to enter The road: If u go from Velingrad, keep in mind the speed limits. At some point, you will find yourself in one lane road so drive cautiously. You can go with any type of car, except a sports one or lowered - there are some holes and you won't like it. 😃 The cave has a parking, a bar with hot/cold beverages and snacks and a short zipline (its above the parking, across of the ticket booth). The price to go in is 8lv, the zipline is 10lv. !Be aware! - the guide guy will tell u that u can head in and then up the steps or go back on the "walk of shame/disabled". The steps are very steep and kinda dangerous! There are 250+ steps up and if you are short like me, it will be even more of a challenge. The whole point of going that way is to see the waterfall, which is barely visible. At the exit, there is a guy selling souvenirs and an old lady selling honey (which is actually tasty and you can negotiate the price). The cave is not suitable for children in my opinion.

This cave is in one of the most beautiful areas in Bulgaria. The parking lot is in the spectacular Trigrad Gorge. The cave cost 10 leva and was open on Christmas day of 2023. However, I wish that they'd have a website or a working phone number with which to check if they are open. We could not find out whether or not they would be open that day so we just drove there. I have visited a couple times now, and because we were a large English group they gave us a paper with the information on it in English and let us right into the cave, without waiting for the next Bulgarian guided tour. We like it better this way! The main room of the cave is large and the stream of water is small in comparison. The so-called 42 meter waterfall is a series of cascades, not a single drop. The flight of stairs are difficult for elderly people but doable for able-bodied people.

Not the main feature of breathtaking Trigrad Gorges, yet a worthy stop. Different concept from Yagodina Caves. Not a long succession stalagmites or stalactites, rather one big show, the huge chamber and the roaring sound of the underground river. Very steep stairs going out, not for everyone. 7 leva entrance for adults. Unguided visit.

The guide was fantastic, told us so many stories and made few jokes. The place is majestic inside and outside. 100% recommend!

Not bad, nothing extrodinary. Stairs are a bit extra exort if you decide to take them, but is nice place to visit. Great nature and beautiful views on the road.

One of the most incredible places I have had the blessing to see. It trully speaks to the magnificent nature and wonders of Bulgaria! A MUST see! We had a yummy dinner after at the restaurant and the view was also breathtaking!

This must be too 10 caves in europe! You can feel like dwarves in Moria! Specious chamber with hundreds of steps are amazing. Not very crowded, however. The cave is very close to national park so you can spend there even for a couole of weeks.its hard to show how amazing it is in the pictures.

Dreadful place, the roaring sound of the underground water falling from 60m height is deafening. On the way out, you have to climb 288 very narrow stairs. In 1968 after a big storm, 500 cubic meters of wooden logs were carried away by the flooded river and into the devil's throat cave, but none of the logs ever came out on the other side

Check to make sure that the road is open. I drove to the cave in May 2022 and the road had washed away. There were workers clearing the road with a backhoe. It is not a bad idea to take an SUV.

The cave is impressive by itself, but what I really loved was the river gauge. The scenery is truly breathtaking

Very beautiful and impressive cave. The guide spoke well English and was super friendly as well. As we didn't speak Bulgarian he told us that we could visit the place without waiting for the entire group which was super convenient. There are also a lot of honey makers around the place which are amazingly good.

We arrived early, and visited the cave with the first group. The metal stairs are a little bit slipery, so if you are going to pass all the way, be careful (there was the option to go back and exit trough the entrance) After the exit, you can try tasty home made honey, and buy if you like it.

Impressive caves with some steep stairs.

Quite scary getting up the steps but definitely worth it. This cave is something else and is worth checking out. The entrance fee is 6 leva per person
