As a foreigner, I have been accepted at the emergencies by a very kind person who explained me the procedures. However while I was waiting for my turn, a very impolite nurse asked me why I was there and when I asked if she spoke English, she yelled at me in front of everyone that we are in Bulgaria and that I should speak Bulgarian. Well, foreigners also have the right of not feeling well and seeking for help in hospitals, or not? I found this attitude very unprofessional and not normal for an institution with a reputation of having English-speaking staff (the reason why I actually went there). I left and went somewhere else.

We don’t live in Sofia and we needed a consultation with a doctor. We filled in a form via internet we received a call from the hospital with two dates and they told us to come and wait. The doctor wasn’t the kind that makes appointments. We were assured that we’ll pass. Well, we traveled, we spent for a hotel room and 8:30 in the morning we were in front of the doctor’s office waiting. It took an hour and a half till we were informed that the doctor took a holiday and we can see some of his colleagues instead. We came though for this particular doctor and all the stuff - the receptionists, the nurses and the “replacement” were shrugging. They couldn’t explain and telling us that they were not aware about the doctor’s schedule. Just like they didn’t work there!!! Very, very disappointed! Ben if this is the best doctor we’d rather find a more reliable institution.

Worst experience ever with Dr. Mariya Atanasova. We waited 3 months for an appointment with her. We rescheduled our travel plans to meet the appointment. We were on time for the appointment. We waited 1h30 minutes and when it was our turn (as the receptionist said) the Doctor favoured another patient of her (I guess a friend or some old client) by bypassing everyone and discriminating us. She said « I decide who comes first ». She clearly doesn’t understand the concept of a queue !!! This is not acceptable by a hospital like Tokuda. I clearly know that the hospital will say nothing to her as she brings business !!! That’s how you are treated in Acibadem in Sofia ! What a waste of time. We filed an official complaint with the hospital. Dr. Mariya Atanasova doesn’t have the right to do favouritism and discrimination. We will follow the complaint with our lawyer to make sure the hospital takes clear action. Just to mention, the hospital staff in charge of customer relations were very kind and helpful. But unfortunately I think the general management of the hospital doesn’t care much about customer satisfaction. To be continued !!!

When we ask you for an English speaker Doctor please provide us with one. And doctor that speaks english it means he/she is able to understand the patient and to answer him and being able to communicate and full conversation and provides us with an english clear diagnosis. Our medical situation and health is not a joke !

If you have no strings there don't go. The hospital is super dirty. It is incredible how much time you will lose there. There needs to be some restructuring so that they get motivated because they have no motivation.

Currently hospitalized here for multiple strokes.I was admitted Wednesday evening so I missed the dinner time and then I was not allowed to order food and go pick it up from downstairs or even go to the lobby to get something from the vending machine. Nurses also had an issue with my desire to shower. I've had a couple of very unpleasant tests done to me and I know the result of only one of those. I usually have two IV banks per day, one in the morning and one at 18:00. Today my fiance is supposed to come see me. After I was done with the IV in the morning, I asked if there's anything else they need to do to me today (since nobody actually tells me what I have scheduled). The nurse said that there is something else "in a bit". That was an hour ago. I went to ask when am I supposed to get this IV because I'm having visitors today. The nurse was "gracious" enough to tell me I can go out now to see my family for 15 minutes and then come back. When I asked if we can't just start the IV now so I can go out later, she just said no and left. It's been half an hour since then and I haven't received the IV yet. At this point it absolutely feels like she's doing it on purpose for whatever perceived insult she thinks I bore her. I am extremely unhappy with this situation and I feel like I'm a child that they keep sending away to their room without telling me anything or respecting me as a person. However I really need to mention that the ladies that bring out the food are actually great and extremely kind.

Avoid this place. There are no doctors here, only robots with calculators in their heads long forgotten the Hippocratic Oath and that they have a mission to help This place is not a hospital, but a shop where if you don't pay well you get kicked out or, in the last resort, you get demonstrative humiliation. We waited over 8 hours for my grandmother's hospitalization. After thousands of pains, they accepted her on a clinical path, asking for an extra payment of BGN 500 for each day in the hospital. After a stay of 4 days, they categorically refused to discharge her and demanded a new payment of BGN 3,600 for 5 days without even asking if we have the possibility to pay this amount. At the same time, they discharged a woman in a very serious condition after realizing that she could not pay for her treatment. In this place, you are seen as a walking wallet, not a patient in need. They drain the health fund and demand additional payment for elementary procedures that are generally covered by the health fund. I strongly do not recommend this fast and thorny road to Hell called Tokuda Hospital

There is no time management. An appointment is only for you to pay the charges. After that, you are at their mercy. Patients recommended jump the que and are seen beforehand. Staff are impolite, and there is no courtesy. As a fellow medical professional, I see a total lack of dignity and respect when talking to patients. The lady who did the ECG literally manhandled me and threw the report on my jacket. Bottom line, no one was smiling. Would rather go back to the UK for treatment. Paying for a low class derogatory service. Punctuality means nothing.

This is a very big hospital, up to European standards, if not the biggest in Sofia. It’s clean and busy. It has an automatic way to call a legit taxi at the entrance. My experience with this hospital so far is positive! The obstetricians in the gynaecology floor that I visited speak English and are really nice doctors. Not everyone speaks English though, like in the registration desks or some nurses, so if you’re not comfortable speaking Bulgarian, it’s good to bring someone with you that does.

Impossible to get anyone to answer the phone number given. Naturally, there is no info regarding the management, etc Third world service... P.S. Following the response: 1) If the original review is in English, it would naturally be a good practice if the response would also be in English, although I do have my doubts whether the majority of the admin staff is in command of that language. 2) If you are unable to offer appointments by phone, for the simple reason of no one answering them, you should not be advertising that option at all. Naturally, you can't be forced to accept patients if you do not have the capacity to at least arrange their appointments, but the consumers do have the right to know about that. 3) The unavailability of the management details does not allow the (potential) consumers to provide their feedback directly to those who are in charge of the management of that, well, hospital. 4) Anywhere west of Sofia not answering phones on a number of occasions would immediately lead to new career perspectives, at least for the staff manager of the relevant department.

Parking from tomorrow will be 5lv per hour without the 30min free. Today in the snow to pass through it in a wheel chair needed 3 people to help and about 10min finding the right path. Why do we pay???!!!!! Attitude from staff and logistics and internal ways of working are terrible. When you come to private place, you pay lots of money with very strange documents which you get, you expected attitude and quality. Non of it exists. Objective is to squeeze as much as possible from everyone. You are accepted to the hospital at noon. You pay the full day but you don’t deserve lunch. Dinner time comes, unfortunately you are not in the list, the whole room is not. After some beginning they bring you leftovers - cold rice and something like yogurt but with quite strange taste…🤦🤦🤦

I had to go there today with my husband (who does not speak Bulgarian). We had low expectations because of what people in Bulgaria always say about healthcare here (maybe sometimes for a reason, but also because complaining is a bit of a national hobby, I'm Bulgarian so I can say it ;). But both my husband and I were so impressed by the service we received and all for free! His case was not even so urgent but everyone was very kind and professional. For 2 hours he was seen by 5 different specialists and in every room there was someone who spoke English very well so I didn't need to translate at all. We expected the doctors to be rude, but actually the only rude people we saw were the patients complaining that they waited and putting pressure on the doctors. Well, I think that those who complain have not been in other countries, like England for example, where you can wait for 4 hours to be seen by one person. I hope that others will also have the experience we had and will also share it. If you share the bad experiences on these places, you should also share the good ones, right?

No proper security, no customers clean facilities are no where to be found!! Atanas Baltov Wake up!!! EU this hospital need proper qualified doctors and nurses who CARE for patients and not treating people like the street dogs in Bulgaria!! Avaoid at any cost!! Disgrace and Filth!! My dad was there taken in emergency 'care' hearth attack caused by covid then pneumonia. They released him early to get rid of him and make spaces for the next patients. My father had so many complications after this s 'quick ' treatment and now they refuse to see him even when they operated him!!! They throw him out this morning from DR Dimitrova cabinet!! SHAME

After calling in 112 with heart attack symptoms I was told to call my GP and they hung up the phone. I went to my GP and was told that this is serious and I need a hospital. I had to have my elderly parents drive me here because they wouldn’t dispatch an ambulance. After suffering the heart attack I was given aspirin and was told to wait for a specific cabinet… been 3 hours now… still waiting. The place is dirty and filthy. USA complains they have to pay for their hospital needs, but at least that guarantees them a clean environment and adequate care. Don’t wonder why young people leave this country. Let Bulgaria burn in flames. It would have been better if we were still under Turkish siege and control.

I am again posting a review to caution potential patients NOT to use this hospital. After a premature discharge following a triple bypass surgery, my father was thrown out ahead of the sacred Easter holidays in order for the hospital staff to rest properly and not to have to deal with patients. A week later my father passed away. I know I am going to receive the trivial message to direct my complaints in private so that their incompetence is hidden from the public gaze. Incompetent, rude and inhumane. The registering nurse had the nerve to scold us for bot having presented a document - as if it is the patient’s job to know what when to present. I have no words to explain how poorly we were treated, after having greased everyone’s palm.

Booking an appointment with phone is impossible.. I've been trying since a week, now I'll have to change my doctor because of carelessness of the customer service staff or the management. You either have to sit an entire day listening to waiting tone or you hear that there's a technical issue and the call gets disconnected. Oh! There is a second option too, request a call back - Good luck if you guys get a call back.

Taking appointment is completely useless. We had an appointment at 12:10 and we had to wait until 14:30. When you ask about when they are gonna take you in, they are making fun of you. Worst healthcare experience that we ever had. And we missed an important business meeting thanks to their irresponsible behaviour which cost us a lot of money. Never again!

Just awful. Brought my girlfriend here who was suffering from severe dehydration after a bout of food poisoning. The staff at reception were incredibly rude. They made you feel like you were bothering them. After filling in endless forms to sign our lives away, finally a doctor came to see us. His main concern seemed to be that she was lying on the floor and asked if we could sit her up on a chair as “this doesn’t look good for us”. Im no medical expert, but it was clear all she needed was a drip. Instead he insisted we took her halfway across town in a taxi to an incredibly hard-to-find “Infectious Disease” clinic… where they put her on a drip. A complete waste of time and a whole lot of suffering for nothing. The place looks nice and modern enough. But the attitude and professionalism there is very far off the mark.

Make no mistake, it is a substandard, overcrowded hospital with some very mediocre doctors who have poor attitudes. The costs, hidden and otherwise, are quite prohibitive.

After difficulties to reach Tokuda via phone, we finally got an answer that in order to get vaccinated for flu, we can just go there, buy it in pharmacy and go to ER- they will inject, no problems. The the next day we went through all city during our lunch from work to get vaccined. We purchased vaccines in Tokuda pharmacy, and after that in Information desk we were also confirmed to go to ER. In ER the worker there was super surprised why we are here and that we need to book a doctor appointment in advance to get our health check and only then we can get vaccinated. It seems nobody knows the procedures here and nobody respects the client’s time. Very unprofessional..

Horrible experience in the laboratory. Not only basic tests cost a small fortune but also staff is rude and unprofessional. You get the feeling patients are on the conveyor belt and if you don’t hear your number and are not at the door that same second they invite the next one so if you are not right next to the door you will have to wait extra. People are getting mixed information and then are told they didn’t do what they were told in the first place. Saw several people made to go back and forth multiple times due not being given clear instructions. I have noticed before but today again witnessed staff not being able to comprehend basic english and communicate in a professional manner. As an employee at one of the best hospitals in the US maybe I expected more but it seems being treated as a human being and getting proper customer service in the country of Bulgaria is too much to ask for. I will think twice before using services at this hospital even though there are some great physicians working there. Shame.

With few exceptions, the “healthcare” at Tokuda is heartless processing of human units for profit. Arrogant doctors with extremely poor communication skills and bedside manner, or any manners at all. Where else in the world doctors casually mention a terminal dignosis to a relative and the relative is left with the agonizing decision to tell this to the patient? Major decisions shared over the phone after you chase the doctors for days and they just hang up on you? After they collect the money from you, you are just a bother. If you are looking for a hospital that might be a bit better than the rest in Bulgaria, forget it. Only the staff in the call center seem to understand what empathy means. The rest are as unprofessional and inhumane as they get in the Bulgarian healthcare system.

My 15-year old daughter had a seizure at midnight on Saturday, 16 April 2022. We were in Pravets and managed to get the situation under control. The next day we came back to Sofia and contacted Tokuda Hospital, requesting for a doctor/ neurologist to check her and let us know how to proceed. We were informed that as there is no emergency so we need not bring her to the emergency department. As no appointment with a neurologist was available till 27th April, we were given an appointment for with a neurosurgeon, for 18 April at 8:30 am, for which we were grateful. The neurosurgeon suggested an MRI and mentioned that he will prescribe an EEG after seeing the MRI and asked us to meet him with MRI. MRI appointment was available at 3:30-4 pm and the report was to be collected after 24 hours. The kind person in the neurosurgery told me that the doctor will check the MRI on his computer and to come back next morning. On 19th April, the concerned doctor was not available and another doctor checked the MRI, said that the MRI seems okay and she does not need a brain surgery. For the rest, we should go immediately to a neurologist. The registration desk said that as my daughter is 15 years of age, the regular neurologists cannot see her and to go to the pediatric department around the corner. The pediatric desk told me that the pediatric neurologist has next free appointment on 3rd of May 2022. When I pleaded that waiting for nearly 20 days might put my daughter’s life and health into serious danger, she relented and asked me to come back at 4pm, when she would check with the pediatric neurologist if she could see us after all her patients. At 4:30pm,the pediatric neurologist pont-blank refused to meet us and asked us to come on the 3rd May. I begged and pleaded pointing out the urgency and risk to my daughter’s life at which she sent me a message that in case of urgency, I should go to Sv. Naum hospital. It was 5:30pm by then. I rushed my daughter to Sv. Nuam, to find out that it is closed after 3:30pm. This is completely unacceptable, as my daughter’s life has been put in danger due to the callous and negligent attitude of the doctors in Tokuda. After 4 days, I still have not been able to get a doctor at the hospital to spare 5 minutes to diagnose my child and ensure that her life is not in danger. Who will take responsibility if she gets another seizure and has brain damage or worse. How can your doctor behave so callously towards a child’s well-being. I have had to ofcourse take an appointment for the 3rd May 2022, as I donot speak Bulgarian and am helpless. I tried to get online consultation from India but the CD with MRI given to me is useless and cannot be copied due to encryption. After wasting 4 days, endangering my child’s precious life, due to negligence and shirking of basic humanitarian attitude by your doctor, I am at my wit’s end. As expats, we were told that Tokuda is the best hospital here, but this is horrible.

My girlfriend was around the second week of pregnancy when she was hospitalized with COVID. The embryo could not be saved, unfortunately, but I appreciate all the hard work of the staff to help her and save her life, given that her condition was serious. I must admit, though, that we had higher expectations for their attitude towards the patients. We were told on the phone that we don't realize the seriousness of my girlfriend's condition and we should not try to tell the doctor how to treat her and what to give her, even though our only ask was not to give her any antidepressants. We felt like we were not listened to and we were to blame for her condition. Not a great experience overall. There are more things that left us with bad impressions but I won’t get into more detail because I don’t want it to sound like I am just wanting to complain. Once again I want to thank the hospital for doing their best with several exceptions and want to highlight once again that I realize people are risking their lives every day to help our families and beloved ones. However, I don't think this will be our hospital of choice for the future. Stay healthy!

We have had 2 vaccine shots and the booster at Pirogov. Today we met the nicest staff to administer the booster. Our Bulgarian is limited, but they always have an English speaker on hand. The certificates they produce are always correct and do not have to be amended after the event. Excellent service.

Just called their contact number for assistance getting an appointment for the orthopedics and traumatology department. The lady asked which of them, because they were 4. I told her “I don’t know and was going to ask which one is closer to..” and she told me “Do I need to know” and hung up the phone. I am not sure why this joke of a clinic exists. Hope no one need to go there.

I would advice people to avoid this hospital when it comes to giving birth: 1. We were not sufficiently informed why a C-section was chosen. We expressed clearly our preference for natural birth in the consultations before the birth. It is possible this unexpected choice from the lead doctor was the correct, but I spoke to the doctor, who just said "Oh she'll recover quickly, she's a fighter". I need proper explanation. I am not a child. I do not need to be reassured. 2. Different parts of the hospital have zero communication with each other. I had to go to the hospital again 10 mins after I left the overcrowded car park (0 parking spots available for lots of the day) after seeing my little one. Why? Because I needed to sign a form. A form I could have signed during my visit to my baby. So I needed to come back for a 3rd time by 4pm on the same day to sign a form. I explained this to the staff, who looked like she suddenly does not speak a human language, or is not human indeed. 3. The hospital is simply too busy at this stage. Seriously, I know it's a business, but there were no slots to park for large parts of the day. What should a woman in labor do in this case? Wait for a few hours? Pull yourselves together!!!!

I went for a blood test and the receptionist did not speak english, untill she had to tell me I had to pay for one test which was not covered by my insurance and she suddenly remembered her english! I went to make an appointment for a CT and the receptionist give me a paper with the day and time of the exam. On the day of the exam I arrived just to find out that it needs to be approved by my insurance!!! Wasted my time and I had to re schedule!!! I made again another apointment for a CT but they call me the day of the exam to cancel as the machine was not working! The same happened two years ago: they cancelled my appointment the same day few hours prior because the doctor had to go for the day!! Very unprofessional!!!! If this is the best hospital in Sofia propably is because of the building and the prices they are charging but for sure not for their service. 01/07/2022 my apointment with the doctor was for 09:00. He arrived with his shopping bag at 09:10 while all of us who had apointment since 08:00 are waiting!

You probably have to fall down on the floor unconsciously for them to take you to ER timely. After waiting for 40 min in line we asked the registration desk a simple question to at least tell us the order in line to make a decision if we should stay and wait or go somewhere else, we got the answer “we don’t have any order and can’t tell you when you’ll be taken”. Only after making the case loud and clear of their unprofessional conduct they called medical stuff out and started asking the line of people which problems you have. I repeat, medical stuff went out to ask people which problems they have. Out loud in the waiting room every neighbor is aware of private matters of others and the medical stuff is unaware of the problem that must be processed by the registration desk down the line which basically means the registration desk is there just to collect personal data and cash + chat and laugh around while the whole room is in emergency and they can’t even make the order or process the information to medical stuff. Next to us there was a guy who waited 3.5 hours and could barely sit, he had issues with blood circulation after surgery and after complaining constantly every 30 min the stuff realized they forgot to register him in the system. The actual behavior of medical stuff is not even close to resemble emergency - drinking coffee, chatting on mobile phones while there were at least 3 people who needed to lay and were about to collapse. After I came inside I counted around 10 beds of which only half was busy - they could've at least lay down the patients who couldn't sit/stay. Our stay in the "ER" was 4 hours and we left BGN 400. Extremely unprofessional for the private clinic that we came to expecting to pay for faster service. Will make sure to never come here again.

I do not reccomend this hospital. I am not Bulgarian and I do not speak Bulgarian so after making an appointment I went to hospital. Ladies in reception spoke English barely and they could not find my appointment in their system, I spoke with 3 ladies and they barely understood me.... but after long conversation I saw the doctor. I told about my symptoms and he gave me medicine. It was surprising because my symptoms were vomiting, nausea etc and without any blood test, checkout anything he just gave me the medicine. At my work I got paralized and I could not move my head. I took like 3-4 hours,I felt so bad. The nervs in my neck were paralized. The medicine was too strong plus it was for people who had radiotheraphy and chemiotheraphy. Never ever trust any doctor who gives medicine just like that. Obviously I stopped taking this medicine and went to gastroenterologist. I do not reccomend. Who knows what chould happen...

If I could give less than 1 star, this hospital would definitely deserve it. I have had absolutely terrible experiences with this hospital. Staff are extremely rude, very weak mask policy even though we are in the middle of a pandemic, and the hospital hygeine overall is very subpar. Washrooms do not work, most equipment also does not work, etc. I highly recommend people steer away from this place, especially their emergency which is a complete joke.

I had pneumonia/bronchitis symptoms and had no choice but to enter the Covid entry where they stuff 20 people in a tight corridor. Several doors with NO DYSEFECTANTs. The ladies behind the glass did not care for what I had to say and I just wanted a general check in. Told them what i had and that i might have pneumonia and they looked at me, told me to wait for 3 hrs til the xray opens (xrays in a private hospital work 2 hrs a day???) and a blood sample. Really? Give me a doctor to hear my lungs that tells me that I eventually would need an xray. Unprofessional and had customer treatment like in a public hospital but costs private of course. And of course, I contacted their phone line beforehand that didnt tell me any of this... DONT GO THERE Doesnt matter how much money you have.

Nothing about this place can be related or named hospital! I had 2 traumatic experiences there. First one was a few years back, when I had my tonsils removed. After a long operation they told me that they FORGOT to remove one. That of course was after paying 800 leva. Today I had my grandmother turning up on the main entrance after paying 500 leva for emergency private ambulance (taking her from home to the hospital and back). She was throwing up and shaking and needed imidiate help and tests. There were two ladies on the front door who as soon as they saw the ambulance, they started shouting to my aunty (accompanying my grandmother) to "back off" and "leave the premises imidiately" because there is no room in the hospital. The attitude of the ladies was as my grandma and aunty have committed a crime. I in fact know, that there are spaces in this particular clinic, as I had way of checking. No person should be treated that way especially old, ill lady, in an ambulance. Discussing and shameful behaviour. I can't believe that these two female employees working today on the main entrance of Acibadem City Clinic Tokuda in Sofia can be allowed to represent a hospital. We decided to give a second chance to this place but they are only interested in one thing and this is to empty your pockets. I can't call this place a clinical establishment as any time I turn up there asking for help, there is always a problem and I come out with emptyed purse.

Average. Sometimes it's a five-star service, sometimes less than one. Scheduled visits are rarely served at the time of appointment. I believe there should be a discount on the prepaid amount, in case there's a delay from the hospital perspective. Opposite is also valid and patients, not in time of their appointments, should be penalised too.

This is only about the bar on parterre and the restaurant in the 9th floor. Terrible food hygiene, knowledge and management. The audacity to charge so much money for old food. At the same time strange the hospital director allows all this to happen. Amateurs!

If hell on earth had a name it would be Pirogov. I had a relative who had to be treated there for a few weeks. He said the treating doctor comes in the morning, assigns a treatment and leaves. Then you're alone for the other 23 hours. If someone is in need of help, they just lock the door and leave. Only to come back in the morning to take your corpse to the morgue. If you're very sick and have a life-threatening condition like covid and need to stay the night - don't. They WILL let you die. In fact I will involve the authorities.

One of the worst experiences in my whole entire life. I cane to Tokuda as everyone told me this was the best place to go in Sofia and what a huge dissapointment. One of the main reasons of coming here is because I do not speak Bulgarian. I havent veen given any kind of information whatsoever even when they hospitalized me, whithout even beeing sure that my insurance would cover for the expenses and without telling me this. Not only that but the treatment (with the exception of two amazing individuals) could not have been worse. Timelines not followed, fake promises, wrong information, a lot of contradictory information and nothing went according to the initial plan. Always delays and the most annoying thing is a complete lack of communication.

reviewing the ear-nose-throat department in the hospital: patient care: awful new and good equipment: okay organization of the department: awful keeping clean in the area: okay given awareness from staff regarding medicaments they give: awful satisfaction after surgery: dissatisfied + if you're thinking of doing a septoplasty - don't do it here, it's not good (at least in my experience)

Disaster from the institution. If there were any controls in the country, they would have to lose their license. I had a problem with a child who had choking during the night. We went straight to Tokuda, believing that the information is correct that they work nonstop and have the best service. Of course, none of that is true. We entered the parking lot, went to the main entrance which was locked. There were notices at the entrance that pediatrics and emergencies were at the next entrance, on the left. We went there and everything was locked there. No porters, no staff on duty ... disaster. When we wanted to get out of the parking lot because we were in chaos because of the child, we couldn't because we had to pay for parking. We lost a lot of time for the child, we lost extra time returning to the vending machine to pay for parking and we failed to solve the problem. You should not exist as a health institution.

Went there on Thursday noon (14.00pm) and there was no pulmonologist !!! They did not speak English , and I had to pay my 10min parking stay (5 leva) for telling me to go to Pirogov. The greatest joke of a private hospital that I have ever seen.

Big thank you for the serious and professional attitude - last night I fell on my bike. external damages didn't seem too serious, but I wanted to be sure if there are no damage to internal organs, mostly my head. The emergency team acted with speed and seriousness, did all the needed checks and treatment and I could go home feeling sure all is fine. Thank you so much!

I had to be hospitalized in the Ears, Nose and Throat ward (УНГ) of the Pirogov emergency hospital. The team of doctors there have a holistic approach. They not only know what they are doing professionally but also take personal care of a patient and show compassion. A very special thanks to Dr Kaloyan Tchilingirov who learnt my name at the very first check-up and used it throughout my stay, and organized the process in no time. The team at the УНГ ward of Pirogov will make sure that you are released from the hospital as healthy as ever before. Five out of five stars!

Great hospital overall, just don't stay in the neurological department. One of the nurses has a god complex and flat out refused to follow doctors orders and told the other nurses to ignore it too. Gross medical negligence stay away. EDIT: Hospital staff has no consideration for your mental health. If you have any mental struggles please stay away cause they'll purposefully make the situation worse.

Pirogoff is the absolute worst that can happen to you and your family. Their only purpose to drain money from Bulgarian health care system and you as patients are the way to do it. Be sure that whatever you need from them will be seen only as opportunity to drain money. Avoid them at any cost!!! If you somehow oppose to them they threaten you to blacklist you and dismiss you the next time you visit them. I know the doctors in Bulgaria are quite underpaid but threatening sick people like this and performing unnecessary procedures for money is just pathetic… you were supposed to be the most pure expression of humanity itself…

My parents were hospitalized January 24 both of them with Covid and pneumonia mom was treated for five days and released, unfortunately my dad had to be intubated he was on the ventilator for nine days passed away on February 7th some of the staff were very kind and caring according to my mom but some of them are extremely rude and disrespectful. My mom was released on January 30th with only blood thinners prescription for home they told her because she was vaccinated she was able to beat the virus and the pneumonia had cleared, sadly die to her still feeling weak having troubles breeding and wheezing we took her yesterday to Velingrad after the results that we received there they informed us that she still has pneumonia in both lungs and the x-ray revealed that her pneumonia was worse than what the picture had shown on January 24 upon admission in Tokuda. Now she has to have antibiotics administered three times a day true shots and pills, her blood thinners were changed because the one prescribed from the hospital were weaker than what she needs can somebody please explain to me how you release a patient from the hospital after five days of treatment with no follow up prescription or medication for treatment how can you clear pneumonia in both lungs with only five days of treatment. This hospital came highly recommended to us but now I’m left wonder did they do everything possible to save my dad‘s life or was he left on a ventilator for nine days just so they can take the money from the insurance. I am left with more questions then answers.

Keep away if you value your life. This is the worst service you can receive in a private hospital in the entire country. My girlfriend and I made the worst decision to work with this facility throughout her pregnancy. We were mistreated, ignored, scammed out of thousands of leva on useless 'procedures' and check-ups. My girlfriend miscarried the child because a doctor prescribed her a drug that poisoned it. We will never be recompensated for our loss and we advise everyone to opt out of this private instutions which has the only intention to rob you of your time and money! Stay away!

I was sent here after a fall resulted in a deep gash in my chin. As a foreigner, I had no idea what was happening and waited a very long time. Part of the issue was that they had trouble comprehending that we were willing to pay cash. When I finally was treated, the doctors seemed quite competent, although quite young. I later had the stitches removed on a cruise ship and the wound has healed very well. The total cost, including an x-ray was $65. In the US, the service probably would not have been any better and the cost would have been 20 times that or more. Says a lot about healthcare in the USA.

Not even one star - it was terrible. I called to arrange an appointment with a private GP and was told a date and time to arrive. When I got there the Dr I'd been told my appointment was with wasn't there and nobody had any information that I had even been booked in. I waited over an hour. When I spoke to the on-duty GP in the corridor to say I was confused she was rude, demanded to see my passport and then said she couldn't even register me anyway. It was very confusing. God knows who I spoke to initially who told me to attend the phantom appointment.

I am very disappointed at the services I received in this hospital. I went there with my 3 months old baby. He had high fever and we went to the emergency cabinet. We stayed for results and check around 3 hours after which we were informed that he cannot be accepted for treatment because there was no ‘such service’ in the pediatric department to treat babies with high fever and potential stomach virus. We were sent with the small baby on another government hospital in Sofia. Well from this government hospital, they accepted us immediately stating that they don’t have a practice to send away patients, especially vulnerable babies. Something that apparently is a practice in Tokuda. I would not recommend this hospital and experience to anybody!!!

(Translated by Google) For those who will visit Tokuda Hospital and have a problem similar to mine. I work in Switzerland as a driver. In an accident at work, I broke the toe of my left foot. I went to the nearest hospital in the city of AArau, where 5 different doctors examined me and took a total of 12 photos. They adjusted my finger three times until they were sure it was positioned correctly. They immediately found me a translator who translated if necessary. I was given sick leave for 5 days and in the epicrisis it was written that due to the nature of work the sick leave should be extended for at least 4-6 weeks. And here comes the well-known Tokuda Hospital, where I booked an appointment and paid BGN 72 for an examination. When I entered, Dr. Dimitrov (orthopedist) didn't even bother to look at me, didn't want to look at the already existing photos from the hospital online, but made me take new ones, which I had to pay on the spot - BGN 45. The doctor in question gave me sick leave at his discretion without taking into account his Swiss colleagues and the nature of my work. The conclusion he made was to take care of the paper on the photos himself, because he did not care to enter the system and translate the epicrisis into Bulgarian, because he does not speak foreign languages. He promised that the second examination would be cheaper. Such an attitude is extremely unacceptable by a medical person. I would not trust this hospital for my health in the future.

We left with a bill and 5 different medicines. Problem was not solved, so 3 days later we go early morning as an emergency as he was is huge pain. Again all the tests performed there 3 days ago to be repeated, plus one xRay that took almost an hour to be taken. Maybe during the night there is no better choice, but will avoid this hospital for anything else.

This seems to be the best choice of hospital in Bulgaria. However, it still needs to learn a lot. My mother got a brain stroke, she was accepted pretty fast and her live was saved. However, they were tying her to the bed in such an animal way that she had very deeply cut skin on the hands. One arm was completely blue. We were told later from other doctors that this is not really normal and who knows what was done to her. The visitation time for a consultation with a doctor was never respected. The doors were opened always after the end of the visitation time. One should be more respectful to all the visitors who are taking time off from their work and wait for nothing outside, worrying for their relatives. The doctors should start actually explaining to the visitors what is going on. They either don't bother to explain anything (like one is completely dependent on them and they are some kind of Gods) or if they do, then it is in their medical terms which nobody understands. I am living abroad and can see a huge difference. My comment can be ignored or taken as a chance to get better. I would like Bulgaria to come to a high standard like abroad. However, it requires a radical change in how things are being done, from everyone. One can complain the country, the government, the salary, whatever, but the truth is that the change starts with everyone and spreads. So, if nobody does it, it remains or gets worse.

Once considered the role model in hospital care, this place was turned upside down with Acibadem Turkish or who knows what management that came in. Administratively it is a disaster and services are way below normal expectations, but one can still find a good doctor here. Just don't expect much to start with. The administration is just heartless and exemplary of predemocratic Bulgaria.

(Translated by Google) I'm not happy with the people who work at the registries, some angry aunts, when you ask them a question you don't have a specific answer as if they are forcibly standing there. You make an appointment and they accept with a huge delay (30-40 minutes). You cannot run tests within 3 hours. I do not recommend it. The doctors may be good, but the rest of the staff is not up to standard and in the end I did not manage to do any research. Thanks to Tokuda Hospital. For the second time there, it doesn't hurt to be sick. While I'm doing my research, I may be gone, there's no point in research. I DO NOT RECOMMEND it.

(Translated by Google) Very ugly, rude and inadequate attitude in postpartum care. They literally make fun of their mothers. Dr. Uzunova posing as a neonatologist is incompetent and I would even say inadequate. The constant harassment of pushing infant formula suggests that they are getting paid to try it. These pathetic women working there are a disgrace to the midwifery profession. Definitely the service does not cost BGN 3,000!

Accidentally, and unfortunately for personal health problems, as well as for relatives and relatives, I have used most of the wards of the hospital, almost from the very opening. I dare to say that he has the best organization, technique and specialists for the treatment of all ailments and conditions. The price, of course, is not low, but the service and the way it is obtained is well worth it. Part of the advantages are a large and clean building with order and functionality, modern and modern equipment, good specialists. There are, of course, some drawbacks, but overall they are minor and can be overlooked.

(Translated by Google) Today they made me pay for consultations that were not done. After I paid, I returned to clarify that I had not been examined by the professionals listed. It wasn't easy, but I got the money back. I was scheduled for surgery, and I was carrying a monthly lung disk. I announced that I had a photo, they made me a new one, explaining that a photo that is more than 1 week old is considered old. I took an X-ray exam and I assure you there is no such thing. But maybe the problem is that it was not made with them, and 30 BGN for a photo should not be missed. Certainly there are many good specialists in Tokuda, but my impressions of the hospital's financial policy today, lack of explanation for the upcoming costs, put the hospital in the queue for my choice when needed.

They wait for hours, without any information about the waiting time, they don't even know what kind of staff they have available for the evening ... We waited for 2 hours to call us, until we personally asked the passing doctors for a checkup, otherwise we could stand more ... Initially, they did not know if they had the shift doctor (gastroenterologist) we needed, then we were waiting for a connection with him, we received information that the shift was underway and after 2 hours (literally!) We were accepted for examination. In the meantime, several people gave up, including a woman who had fallen into the mountains and with a bruised foot (no one told her either, nor did she take her for a long time) ... Hi, On Dec 28, 2019 in the evening, my girlfiend was pretty ill with high fever and signs of upper respiratory and lower abdominal infection. We went to the Emergency department and waited around an hour. During our waiting, she desperately needed water to drink due to dehydration. There was no water to buy in the hospital at all. The only water we could have access to was the liters of water just standing there in the registration cabinet in the ER. I kindly requested the woman on the registration desk of ER to give us a glass of water, my girlfriend was feeling almost unconscious already but the woman just refused to give a small glass of water despite having a lot of water and plastic glasses. Not only she refused to help, she drunk glasses of water in front of us smiling. This is such an inhumane move. People like her should not be allowed to work in places where people seek help for their health. Shame.

I don't know what comment to make, even for all this nonsense - a pharmacist mixing alcohol and something else and selling it twice or three times the price, which actually costs .... ..and What kind of doctor sends his patient to buy a "magic lotion ”, which he can make himself for BGN 5. Very good facility, and one of the best places in Bulgaria to receive medical intervention. Busy place! Grateful, that this Clinic is here in our city, although so many people are in need of help and are in distress, and although the health system in the country has some "bugs" to be managed non-stop. Grateful that many skilled doctors, nurses and all medical staff are giving the best of their efforts to manage the most difficult field in human endeavors - to Keep Life. To Help Life! To keep people happy and alive, to help people's hopes, to fight and Manage ! - regardless the obstacles. They do their best to keep very high standards - medical actions, treatments, procedures - admin. requirements Very professional and inspired teams 🙏 Sure is not easy! And It's this clinic of the Models to follow. And sure Management has their role to keep those teams as one towards one vision. My experience is limited with the Oncology department, and I believe all other departments are doing as well.

Be it I have 3 children, I'd go to her every single time. Both times I spent 5 days in Tokuda hospital - the rooms and facilities were up to a high standard, the nurses and other personnel were above expectations, I felt in the right place. + the Neonatology department is truly outstanding!

Dr. Baikusheva and her team in the pulmonary clinic are doctors with huge hearts. Their attitude is impeccable, cordial, and understanding. They went to great lengths in trying to find a solution to my rather rare lung problem. I'm still recovering, but I want to thank them all and wish them the best, because they are the best. As for the hospital itself, I stayed for 3 days. No complaints and no regrets.

You pay for what you get. It’s cheap but the staff and doctors I dealt with were unfriendly. The examination was pretty rushed and weak. Didn’t really get a chance to ask questions. Lastly, I’m foreign but I speak Bulgarian well enough to converse yet I still found it really difficult to understand what they were telling me since they use high level medical jargon. Im aware that the language barrier is my own unique problem but it’s a heads up for the foreigners. They won’t really accommodate you in English. Just medicate yourself in your home country if your health permits.
