building

built
in
1895
for
an
officers'
club.

1905
to
1923
it
was
the
"People's
House",
which
had
a
workers'
theater,
brass
band,
orchestra

evening
school.

1951,
the
building
was
given
to
the
Museum
of
the
history
of
capitalism,
the
labor
movement
and
socialist
construction.
Today,
it
houses
the
Museum
Center
for
Modern
History
with
a
spacious,
modernly
equipped
hall,

enables

presentation
of
art
and
photography
exhibitions,
presentations,
seminars
and

public
events.
The
permanent
exhibition
"The
Soul
of
the
Japanese
Doll"
presents
the
history
of
Japanese
dolls.
Dolls

only
in

home
of
every
Japanese,

also
in
their
lifestyle.
Five
display
cases
display
some
of
the
most
common
dolls
for
girls,
each
created
from
the
story
of
an
old
legend.
Presented
are
the
Hina
Ningyo
sets
-
an
imperial
wedding
from
Kyoto
(the
old
capital
of
Japan)
and
Edo
(the
old
name
of
Tokyo)
-
arranged
every
year
on
March
3
in
homes
where
there
is
a
girl
and
a
set
of
dolls
for
the
boy's
holiday
"Tango
no
Sekku"
Celebrated
on
May
5,
since
1945
it
has
been
declared
a
national
holiday
-
Children's
Day.
The
traditional
Japanese
garment
"kimono"
in
its
summer
version
called
"yukata"
is
shown,
as
well
as
the
musical
instrument
"koto".
The
present
exposition
was
realized
in
2010
according
to
an
artistic
project
of
Konstantin
Kambarev
with
the
financial
assistance
of
the
Japanese
Embassy
in
Bulgaria.
