We visit museum on weekend during Klaipeda. Interesting and fresh museum with some interactive elements. There was a video about history but unfortunately not all headphones with english language were working.

Medieval Klaipėda was a small town. The ideas of the Reformation and the Renaissance gave a great impetus to the development of the city. The symbol of Renaissance Klaipėda is found in the castle from the 16th century. a gold ring with a jewel of a middle nobleman. The atmosphere of the townspeople's life and fashion are reflected in green glazed cobblestones, remains of shoes, household items, craftsman's work tools, coins, imported items. One of the most interesting exhibits is the 17th century. the layout of the second half of Klaipėda castle and city, created after analyzing archaeological, historical, cartographic, iconographic sources. The computer terminal installed in the castle museum allows visitors to independently obtain information on the history of Klaipėda.

A museum is built on the remains of the Klepeida castle. There is a model of the old city. This is an archaeological museum, the research done is very thorol and professional. Presented on the subjects of history, daily life in ancient times, goods, spices, professions, details of clothing, law, church, wars and conquests. The exhibits and information are very clear and the way they are presented is fascinating. Most of the museum is translated into English. Some are shown inside a bunker and the atmosphere is special. The place is clean, service and pleasant staff. On The outside looks simple, the inside is fascinating, worth a visit, fair price. We spent two and a half hours with teenagers

At the moment two different exhibitions take place at the Castle Museum. The entrance fee is very fair (0,87€ for students, regular price is around 1,85). The first exhibition deals with the history of the castle itself as well as with the history of Klaipeda from when it first was mentioned until today. Even though the exhibition includes some pretty interesting artefacts, the main problem is that all the explanations are only written in Lithuanian. Hence, as long as one is not able to understand Lithuanian at lot of the information is lacking. 3/5 The second exhibition focuses on the role of Klaipeda and whole Lithuania during World War II. This exhibition was made with a great eye on the details and the atmosphere, dealing with this sad part of history. Every explanation is given in English as well and the staff is very helpful and friendly. 5/5

The museum consists of different parts dedicated to many topics. Personally, I liked to one about WW2 the most. It is the newest part of exhibition.

Modern and interesting, in four separate parts of the 'castle'. WW2 and Klaipeda history. Hardly any English translation, which is odd for contemporary museum.

Great museum, probably the best in Klaipeda! The second world war exhibition is incredibly well made with both interactive parts and stunning visual presentations. Learned a lot, will definitely come back and will bring both foreign and local friends.

Great that it is possible to walk around the castle cellars. Interesting expositions and indescribable feeling.. After a visit, surely you will have a better understanding about history of Klaipeda. 👌🏽 I recommend! And a student entrance ticket costs less than 1 € 😳

👍👍 One of the central squares of Klaipeda, which featured a carousel and a Christmas tree in late December. At night the area was well trafficked and felt quite safe.
