Really cute nature center with a room downstairs for kids, gift shop and a bird watching porch

Recently renovated and reopened on April 23, 2023. This place is fantastic. Educational areas, viewing areas, walking trails (both paved and natural), gift shop, interactive displays, restrooms, water fountains (with water bottle refillers). Definitely worth the free visit!!

Small natural display cases of snakes and turtles, habitat room, and bird feeding area are very nice.

Since the renovation they took everything fun and interesting and replaced it with a pretty building. A lot of windows, empty space, and a gift shop. Not worth the time at all. I was extremely disappointed, this used to be one of my favorite places to go when I was a kid. If it were possible to give it 0 stars I would.

We took a group of third graders to observe some invertebrates that can be found in the area. Very cool! Kids had a great time exploring under Rick's and digging in the dirt.

The home itself is almost completely closed off. There is some cool kid activities in one room, a very sparse library, and some meh animal exhibits. The biggest part is the gift shop. The trails behind are mostly untended and parts are seriously dangerous. I went hoping to see a historical home but I was very, very disappointed. The only thing to look at on the trails are the roads below.

The building renovation is very nice. The views through the large glass lookouts to the back are also nice. The inside is basically a gift shop and photos on the walls. The Beaver Creek Wildlife Center is loaded with animals and exhibits and actually a much nicer place for youngsters to interact with nature.

Ford Nature Center is located on Southend of Yo. Wonderful ed center where kids of all ages can see live turtles swim & snakes creep & crawl in their tanks. Rescued animal skins & stuffed creatures native to YO. Small gift shop w lil treasures. Educated, kind staff eager for your visit!

It is a lovely building, full of interesting displays, seated in a wooded setting. Start witjh The People's Trail and move on to Cohasset drive & the trail beside the lake. The staff is really helpful & can give you loads of Park information.

Amazing historical trail. Maze like, almost majestic. Lots of old structure and walls on the trails. Super fun. Overgrown trails to explore. Huge rock wall to climb in the fall and spring.

I have been coming here with grandkids for over 20 years. Love the trails, staff and building. Exhibits are ratty, old, and need serious change. Plans are in the works for major changes in 2019.

It's an amazing place. And I would have loved to give them a 5 star. But on our way out the front door, my three year old tripped on the step to get out.. it should have yellow tape on it. It's very dangerous.
