One of the most glorious swimming spots in the area. Water a bit colder than the river Alva which it flows into. Large pool area and then a long straight area to swim up and down in if you want to exercise! Great shady bar and large parking area

Spent the afternoon here with 3 kids age 7, 4 and 1. The water is beautifully cold and refreshing, it’s clear and deep which was fab for the older kids jumping and diving in. It’s a little haphazard for a toddler due to the edges and deep water, as long as you have an attentive adult watching then it’s fine. At the far end there is a sandy area with ramp which is far better for younger kids who can’t yet swim. It was quiet (mid Aug) until around 4pm which was when the locals arrived and it became quite busy. The food shack serves toasties, moelas, fries and weekends there’s chicken. There’s loads of seating under the trees so plenty of shade. Plenty of parking also.

Beautiful river beach. Water was cold, clear and deep. If no life guard no swimming mind. Bar with food really close by.

Nice river beach, good parking, great food and a lovely white sangria!

If you are looking for a chil day near water with good food, cold drinks and friendly people, this is the place to be.

Nice place to be. And have a swim in the clear water and relaxing on the side of the river or in the bar with good drinks and food in the shadow of the trees.
