At first when you pull up it may not look like much but there is quite a bit to do within Butterfly World. It is great place for a family to take a slow walk through and enjoy the beauty of the butterflies. On top of the butterflies there is also an area to see birds. My kids especially enjoyed the quails as they looked like little puff balls. There is also an area to feed parakeets(?) which is rather quick but very good for giggles. The couple that came in with us the bird began licking his ear and from his reaction it tickled quite a bit. My girls weren’t too keen on the bugs but there may be others who find them cool. Especially the cockroaches.. they really didn’t like that. But the spiders they were very interested in. When visiting the spiders be careful as they allow natural spiders to build webs above the “show” spiders. So if you are not aware you may bump your head into a real love spider that isn’t behind glass. The gift shop has quite a bit to choose from and seems reasonably priced. It definitely is a good way to spend the afternoon with kids (Note they do not allow commercial photography or the use of tripods, monopods or any photography tools which would obstruct the walk way.)

It's a such a peaceful and beautiful place. Incredible beautiful classic music 😂 Good for spend time for adults, for family with kids (any age). The park has a small adorable spots with memorial benches where you can sit and receive a peaceful meditation mood. The adorable bridge on the small lake, all butterflies and birdies would magnetize you. You and especially your kids would like the store in the park. Definitely want come back

I came here to propose to my previously girlfriend now wife :). The first thing I really wanted to mention is that Jocelyn was incredibly nice and unknowingly made our experience even more special (she did not know that I had planned to propose). She was so kind and went the extra mile to make our experience nice and more enjoyable. As we were walking away we had talked about how nice she was and how we appreciated her. So much so that I spoke to her manager about it and also decided to write this review (quite frankly she is probably the main reason we are giving 5 stars). Jocelyn, if you end up reading this: That moment you had spoke about when you had sat in your car and thought about your life. I think you made the right decision and my wife and I are grateful for your kindness that day that we couldn't stop talking about you and how you had made us really happy. We truly want the best for you and all your future endeavors! Regarding Butterfly World Itself: The pricing is a little high in my opinion per ticket ($32.50 + tax per person). However since it's one of those things you want to experience at least once it's a little more acceptable. We expected the place to be a little bigger since it touts the title of being the largest butterfly park in the world but in the main screened off area there are certainly more butterflies than we've ever seen in one place. Don't go when it rains, apparently they fly around a lot less during that time. We were able to go during a good time and they were flying everywhere so it was a neat sight to see especially for my wife who LOVES butterflies.

I thought the tickets were a bit pricey until I went inside. Absolutely magical experience. Beautiful butterflies and birds. Lots of native plants. Loved it. Also, the gift shop was excellent. Highly recommend.

This was my first time visiting. It was very clean, plenty of parking space, I didn't get the $5.00 off admission price but that's okay. I got some nice little souvenirs. I love how the souvenirs weren't crazy priced. I think I got three different things. All pink with butterflies on them. I went alone and it was still an amazing experience. Will definitely go again. 🦋🙂💛

If you love butterflies, nature, flowers and walking through myriad pristine environments, then Butterfly World in Coconut Creek is the place for you! Located on the beautiful grounds of Tradewinds Park, you will find plenty of convenient parking. When you enter, have your camera ready as you will be surrounded by a wide variety of fluttering, joyous butterflies flitting from flower to flower! Orchids grow freely in this environment and there is so much to see and learn about Florida flora. As you move through different sections, prepare for “butterfly checkpoints,” as staff members cheerfully ensure our flying friends are not hiding in your hair or on your clothing—no butterfly escapes allowed! There are benches along the various routes where you can just sit, relax, snap photos and enjoy nature’s show all around you. People come from all over the world to view the butterflies living here. We always bring visitors, and everyone is super pleased with the experience. Wear comfortable shoes and ladies, consider bringing a clutch rather than a larger purse which can be a bit cumbersome and a good hiding place for butterflies! Enjoy your visit!

Better than expected. We went on a whim and I'm glad we did. I was afraid it was going to be a tourist trap but was in awe of the butterflies, birds, and even some bugs. When we first stepped into the very large screened enclosure, we were immediately greeted by a beautiful blue butterfly then more butterflies! And they aren't camera shy. Following the path we then entered the bird enclosure and an impressive indoor bug collection. For something billed as a "Butterfly World", the aviary hosted a lovely array of colorful birds. There are benches scattered throughout if your knees need a break or if you want to soak it all in. Our fellow patrons being young or older all seemed to enjoy the beautiful winged creatures.

My boyfriend and I were visiting while on vacation. We were initially not going to come, due to the price of admission. Luckily, while we were in town, they were running a 50% off special which made it much more affordable and reasonable. The gardens are beautiful, but not nearly as breathtaking as the butterflies and birds. This whole experience was definitely one to remember. Tons of picture opportunities! The downsides: You had to wear a mask the ENTIRE time. Even though the majority of the park is completely outside. It was 90 degrees while we were there and I was literally dying. I couldn’t breath and my face was extremely sweaty. Also, I personally don’t think it would have been worth the money for full price admission, yes it was amazing, but not for almost $70 for the two of us. Overall, it was a great time. I truly don’t think you could be disappointed with this experience!!

Beautiful garden to take any loved one to and great pictures. The butterflies are beautiful and literally all around you. We have fun at the bird encounter, feeding them was so much fun. There's a butterfly museum and some very cool bugs as well.

I love the butterfly world. It’s beautiful and very spacious. There’s a waterfall in the middle where butterflies hang out. They also have a lot of birds (and you can feed them too) When we visited, they had a exhibition with insects and my husband got to hold a grasshopper. They have some of their plants for sale and their gift shop has a lot of unusual butterfly/garden items.

Beautiful experience! We took about 2-3 hours to walk through the exhibit! There’s so much to see, butterflies, birds, bugs, and so much beauty! It was about $70 for two people, but was such a great time. Looking forward to getting an annual pass!

It's pretty pricey for what you get. It takes about a half hour to walk through the entire exhibit. My big mistake was bringing young children with my wife any myself as they were very bored. There were some cool things to see and yes, butterflies are flying all around but definitely not worth the time and money.

After visiting 20 years ago, I brought my wife and young kids (9 and 5) to visit this great place. Even enjoyed it now more than before. When you first enter the area, you're amazed by how many butterflies there are! Birds were also beautiful, especially where you get to feed them while they rest on your arms, shoulders and even head. This is a fun, nature oriented, peaceful place to visit by all ages.

What a great little find, nestled about 1 hour out of Miami on the way up to Orlando, was Butterfly world, I love a secret little find so I had to visit. It did not disappoint, I got a decent price in and you start by going straight into the butterfly cage, you look around and nothing… then you look closer and on most leaves and branches are the most beautiful butterflies, then as you explore more you see more beautiful and exotic butterflies… they are literally everywhere and then you start seeing colourful birds, I was like a kid in a candy store, I had my SLR with zoom lens on and I felt like I was on a BBC Attenborough show. Once through the butterfly cage and having made sure there were no tourists on me, trying to escape the cage, I went to the bird cage part, and there were the most beautiful birds on every branch chatting away, some kissing, it was very sweet. Then on to the kinda museum part, it wasn’t the most impressive collection of insect I’ve seen, but there were definitely a lot, and if you’ve never seen a collection before you will be impressed, then just past this are the live specimens, I wasn’t so happy with this part as you had the most magnificent spiders, mostly tarantulas, and a very impressive bird eating spiders in very small glass boxes, great for the kids, a little sad for the spiders. Then a quick tour of the plants they use and gift shop and done. This would be a fantastic day out for kids, and if you like taking pics, there are so many lovely butterflies and birds like I said. Best to go on a slightly colder day if you want pics as the butterflies are slightly more sedated, but I imagine on a hot day, which it wasn’t for me, the activity in the butterfly cage could be quite spectacular.

Beautiful place. All size and color butterflies all around you. Amazing plants and colorful beautiful birds too (not many but very pretty). It was enjoyed by kids and adults. The staff was súper nice, helpful, you cal tell they all love being there. I’d recommend you go with enough time to sit down in a bench, chill down, and just absorb the beauty you are surrounded with.

As a lover of butterflies, I had to visit while visiting the area. Sitting in the midst of gorgeous butterflies is magical. I thought if I stayed still, one might land on me... however, I am not skilled at staying still!!!! I kept looking to watch all the darting colors. The birds were also fun to see and if you buy the special juices they have available, birds will land on you and drink away! There is also a park and greenspace adjacent to Butterfly World, so great day all around. If I go again, I'd stay longer and bring some sketching supplies. 🦋

It is truly the largest butterfly garden!!! 🥰There are so many butterflies as soon as you enter the stop 1 door. The aviaries bring a calm music of birds singing alternately in melodies; It is a gentle reminder of our forests that we need to take care of so our children will see them in the next generations. They also have a bug zoo. 🐜🐝🕷🦗🦟🦂🪰Plenty of souvenirs too. Parking fee is only during weekends. No food inside, you can bring water bottle. You can also buy outdoor plants and flowers here🪻🌱🪴 🦋🐛

Great place to visit if you are in town and want to take a break from the beach. It was not crowded on a Friday morning. Beautiful flowers and plenty to see. Our favorite was the chance to feed a bird (bring two dollars cash for this additional experience) and the multiple butterfly enclosures. look for the adorable little quail running around the last bird exhibit.

The butterflies were amazing. The birds were pretty cool. The museum was really cool. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. It's not cheap but of you're into worth it. We showed up late and only had a couple of hours. Which was enough time to make it through all the exhibits. Although, it would have been nice to be able to take our time.

My family and I really enjoyed our first visit to Butterfly World! We would recommend taking your time and bring covering so you can avoid the direct sun. Long sleeves and a hat would be recommended with a water bottle. What an experience for us. My family and I developed a love for butterflies in a new way. I would highly recommend stopping into the shop to buy a butterfly to hatch and release at home. We bought two for release and ended up coming back to buy more! The shop is available to public when returning. Thanks for an awesome day!

Great outdoor exhibits of live butterflies in a tropical environment. Most areas are covered with screens and misters provide a little more relief from the FL heat. Lush gardens with some plant identifications and a small nursery to buy some plants. Four different live exhibits: butterflies, insects, and two bird aviaries. Ample parking, but it costs an extra $2 per vehicle. Online deals for cheaper tickets

The best place on earth, a bit pricey but definitely worth it. Almost a magical place of beauty with birds, butterflies, insects and bugs and even you can feed parrots which was an awesome experience. I spent 4 hours there today and loved it, beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, I really took my time to check out the 2 Aviaries and the Butterfly Garden then fed the Parrots also mini big museum with real Tarantula and scorpions so that was really cool. Just a lovely place. It is not huge but if you love photography you will take all your time but otherwise you need about san hour and change. Beautiful photo ops and backgrounds for great pictures. Nature lover’s paradise. Highly recommend it.

We enjoyed our visit to Butterfly World. We have been to a few other facilities and this one by far has been the best. The diverse variety of species and the number of butterflies was amazing. They advertise 20,000 on exhibit at any time and while there was no way to count them, it sure felt like that and more! If you enjoy butterflies or tropical birds, I highly recommend giving them a visit.

Butterfly World is a gorgeous place for kids, parents, and the elderly to enjoy sunshine, fresh air, and gorgeous flora and fauna. It is a spectacular display of conservation as guests walk through acres of flower gardens teeming with colorful butterflies and birds. The gift shop and plant nursery are also equipped to sell many of the plants and care items found throughout Butterfly World to encourage butterflies to grow and feed in the comfort of your home garden. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, the facility is bright and welcoming, and traveling around the park is easy with accommodations for many mobility disabilities.

Butterfly World has an amazing experience for young old. I particularly enjoyed the grounds and park layout. The butterfly areas were immersive and personal with them landing on people sometimes. It is very important that guests do no inadvertently release an exotic butterfly into the wild. The government will close this very special place. Very expensive but excellent.

This place was wonderful! If you are into butterflies & tropical birds - it's fantastic! The butterfly section is gorgeous and you see sooo many different ones! And there's several different plant & bird sections that are awesome... The best one for me was where you can feed the parrot-type birds... They land on your hands, shoulders, head - anywhere they can perch (especially if you have food for them that you buy for $2 from the attendant)... Such a cool experience! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

If you life butterflies, this is the place to go. It's a bit on the expensive side, but I think it's worth it. You will pay extra for parking which is something I found out only after got there. There are also aviaries there as well with 2 large macaws. Kids will love it. The butterfly exhibit has thoughts of butterflies and extremely good chance one will sit on you. Bring little cash as there is a very cool bird feeling experience but cash only.

Took my daughter and we had tons of fun despite it being very hot. We tried to feed the birds 2 times but everytime we went they were on a break but tried a third and finally were able too! In my opinion it's a little on the pricey side compared to other attractions and not as many things to see but still was fun. You do have to pay to get inside Tradewinds park as well. I did like looking at the bugs they had pinned on the wall. The gift shop was not too badly priced either. We ended up getting a monarch pupa for 8$ and it took less than a week for it to hatch.

I had an absolutely amazing time at Butterfly World! This place is a true haven of beauty and tranquility. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. A special shout-out to Ashley, who went above and beyond to make my family feel exceptionally welcome. The butterfly exhibits were breathtaking, and we were surrounded by a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors and delicate creatures. The knowledgeable staff members were always ready to answer our questions and share fascinating facts about the butterflies. The entire experience was unforgettable, and we left with hearts full of joy and gratitude. Butterfly World truly provides a magical escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and I can't wait to visit again. Thank you, Ashley, and the entire team, for making our day so special! Keep up the fantastic work! 🦋🌿

We purchased the summer park pass for 4 different locations. We have visited 2 of the parks a few times and had a great experience each time. Butterfly World was a great experience. My family had a wonderful time, and we captured great pictures. It's a must-see. The only thing I would suggest is to add to the menu. Maybe items such as smoothies(made in-house) and other hydrating options. Some items were a bit expensive for the small amount you received. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will visit again

Over $70 for two adults ( AAA discount) and one child but a worthwhile experience to visit the biggest butterfly garden in the world (est. 1988)! Daughter so enjoyed the butterflies (make sure you take your time in butterfly garden as you can only go one way once). Check out the $2 bird feeding!! So fun! A lot of shade was given in park and an air conditioned bug house was a great relief from a heat index of 122! A fantastic gift shop for adults and kids. $30 for women's Tshirt. Spent about 1.5 hrs here.

I very much enjoyed my visit to Butterfly. Its right off the FL Turnpike and also easy to get back onto it when leaving. Naturally they have a plethora of butterflies, but they have much more too including a few aviaries. Actually the highlight of my visit was the lorikeets and feeding them with nectar. There is also a gift shop and a cafe though at the moment the cafe is temporarily closed.

CAS admission was included on a package deal I had purchased. There are several interactive exhibits and there is sooo much to see! There is an enclosed three story bubble where butterflies are free to fly around. Also, there is a huge fish tank that you can get an underwater view from as well. This place is GREAT for kids and still very entertaining for adults. I came here with my boyfriend and we had a great time.

The parking is okay it has alot of space and the butterflies are so beautiful, but I feel it's to small of a place for what they are trying to do....the beautiful butterflies needs more room to fly.... the birds as well need more space....I was a bit worried because of how small the place is and how many people where there because of this crazy Corona pandemic going on.....the gift store is beautiful and full of educational ideas and books about butterflies and birds but the kids where bored and wanted to go home....it was not exciting enough for them..... don't stay away, it's very beautiful and the works are very loving and pleasant.... we will return soon.

Such a fun experience and something that you get lost in. The time flew by faster than the flittering butterflies around us. So much color and designs on the different species. And the flower gardens were just as brilliant as the butterflies. We ran out of time to explore everything and I can't wait to go back again.

Brought a friend here and we both loved it. There’s different enclosures for bird habitats on top of the large open butterfly area. They have calming music playing in the background of the butterfly area and its an overall awesome experience!

We all appreciate having a park like Sunview park. The people who care for this park should be commended. I have noticed that, for months now, the fields on the East 18th Street side of the park have been mowed maybe once or twice. The whole area looks abandoned and is totally useless. What a shame. Is it possible to get this area mowed at least once a week? It this is done, then we could use the park again. YOU MOWED IT ! WOW! THANKS! LOOKS GREAT!!!

Delightful morning at Butterfly World ! The butterflies and birds were from countries all over the world, and the both the butterflies and the birds were exquisite. Each area was peaceful and the center was not crowded on a Friday morning. Parking was easy. We had a coupon for two for one admission as well. Highly recommend !

I had a great time here! The gardens were beautiful and there were a ton of butterflies. The different exhibits were well laid out and easy to navigate. If you are a AAA member you get about $5 off per ticket. I recommend wearing bug spray to avoid the mosquitoes. The only exhibit with air conditioning is the bug world, so be sure to bring plenty of water too. I highly recommend a visit to Butterfly World!

With kids it's a 1-2 hr experience. For adults it could be longer just relaxing on a bench watching butterflies. There is a large playground outside- bring lunch and the kids can easily play there for a long time before or after the butterflies as well... Beautiful items in gift shop. Snacks, drinks and ice cream Available at the cafe. The walks with the butterflies are absolutely incredible. It's surreal. Birds in the aviaries are very interesting to look at. The lorikeets can be fed in their aviary for a couple dollars. The bug museum has tons of mounted bugs to look at and there is also a lab where they are hatching caterpillars and butterflies. Very interesting and entertaining.

What a wonderful place can't wait to go back there. Unfortunately it rained 20 minutes after we got there. Nevertheless they gave us a rain check, so that we can go back on a good day and enjoy the place. Found out that I have a butterfly with my first name.

Lost track of time. Peaceful, tranquil, and relaxing. So many butterflies it's crazy. Also enjoy the finches and budgies, so funny when they zip past you. Insect museum was...educational (not a fan of crawly things that bite!). It can get a little hot in the warmer months, so dress for an inside day.

Haven't been here in a decade and not much has changed over the years, other than the price of course. They still have alot of butterflies that will land on you, when your standing still. It's a nice place to come if you're child(ren) like nature, birds and butterflies. Bird feeding is the best part. $2/each,currently as of today. Overall nice. Good to go in the morning, leave and take the kids to the park, that's next to it, eat and relax, then go back in again to do another walk through.

I love butterflies. It was my first time there. To my it was amazing. We bought a milk weed with 2 eggs on it and now I don't see them and the looks like the keaves are not being eating. So i nit sure what happened but i will be back to butterfly world....and a plant for nectar.

  • 5/5 Valeria P. 1 year ago on Google
Very pretty and peaceful to visit, I loved seeing all the different butterflies they had. We were able to feed the birds too which was cool and inexpensive , $2.00 in cash to feed them. And i liked the little muesum where you can see the bugs and collections of butterflies from different countries. It’s not very big and you’ll be able to walk everything in like 2 hours or less but it’s still nice to visit.

It’s a wonderful experience with nature! The butterflies are spectacular with so much personality and every size and color you can imagine! When you step inside it’s like being in a fairy tale only it’s real! They also have birds and gorgeous passion vines they grow for food for the caterpillars!! There is a garden center, gift shop, and they have food! Truly a experience you will love!

It’s a beautiful and peaceful place. I really enjoyed every area. The parakeet feeding area is too small, they could make it bigger and also it should have more nature in that place (with trees or branches for the birds to stand on). The gift shop inside has a lot of different items with good prices.

Such a fun place to visit with the kids. Can get a little hot in the Florida sun so dress appropriately and hydrate for sure. Nice way to spend some time walking and getting lost in the beauty of nature. Kids had a blast and were so amazed by all the colors on display of the bird and butterflies. Might even get lucky and have a few land on you to pay you a little visit. Worth the visit for sure for a little time killer on a nice day.

This place was really neat for kids and adults. There were so many different types of butterflies, plants, and birds. It was also informative too with the different species. My favorite was seeing all the butterflies coming out of their cocoons.
