Welcoming atmosphere with a wonderful menu. The grilled octopus was so fresh and tender that if I say it was better than the one I had in Italy, I am not exaggerating. The veal chop parmigiana was huge, tender, and paired with the fluffiest mashed potato ever. I can write a page about how good was the bread. Highly recommend restaurant for satisfying your authentic Italian cravings.

Let me start by saying THIS SPOT IS AMAZING! From the moment we entered the greeting from staff was phenomenal. Thank you to David for making sure we made it there and knew where to park. And thank you to Joey for the excellent service and wonderful recommendations on the menu. The venue is so intimate and beautiful.. Also a big thank you the chef. Food came out exquisitely! No complaints here and I assure you will not be disappointed. What a wonderful date night and evening.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. The restaurant was practically empty and it took 35 minutes to receive free bread at the table. Forget the bread, the cacio e Pepe was overcooked and cold and the snapper wasn’t fresh. The calamari was also tasteless. Roberto, our waiter, had the nastiest attitude while he was serving us as if our party of 7 was an inconvenience (again the restaurant was practically empty). Don’t waste your time at veranda… while the pasta is “homemade” it lacks the traditional Italian taste. You can make better food at home! Also of note, they do not make any adjustments to your food— important to consider for a place that’s mid at best. Please read the rest of the negative reviews as the staff is responding to the feedback aggressively unprofessional. That should show you enough who would be serving you and your guests.

Went for the first time for out 7th Anniversary dinner. Beautiful atmosphere and tasty authentic Italian cuisine. The staff was very attentive and we felt like we got a personalized experience. Chef Giovanni is excellent. Will definitely go back as often as we can.

The pictures and reviews looked great. This was our first time here. Easy to reserve table online and we had no problems waiting to be seated at the table. The atmosphere and live music is really nice a bit loud and I can not understand my friends talking. The service was very good and the food was delicious, BUT before ordering the special of the day, ask the price, as a whole fish accompanied by roast potatoes and asparagus costs $90 plus Tip, I think it is very expensive.

What a really nice place, one that is perfect example of "hidden gem" as I passed by La Veranda numerous times but until now failed to stop in, dine and enjoy it. The fact that it has been here and in business for some 37 years is a testament to the fact that they've consistently been doing things right. After I made my way through a lovely veranda/patio like area and entered the door I was immediately given a warm welcome not only from the proprietor but also from his properly dressed perfectly mannered staff. Besides the veranda patio area it has a large rather well decorated dining area complete with sparkling (my guess hand dried) glassware and lace like table cloths. There was long list of meal specials, well thought out of meat, poultry and seafood. I went for their special of the evening being a lobster diablo along with their included house salad. When the house salad arrived it was simple, but crispy and fresh. The highlight of the salad however was that it came with a bowl of delicious creamy Italian house dressing, one of the best as well as the tastiest ever. The lobster came served on top of a good al dente linguini, a lobster supposedly of two pounds but I think in fact considerably larger, more like good three pounds, a covering of clams, mussels and diablo sauce; a really delicious meal and for what I got more than reasonably priced at $54. In reviewing their menu and speaking with their very professional waiter, Ken, I'm really looking forward to trying some of their regular menu items, particularly their veal francese which I understand they hand cut in house. The only downsides I found, all relatively minor, are a very abbreviated wine selection, nice sturdy solid wood but uncomfortably hard on your rump without arms seating chairs. But for what I had, for what I observed from the menu listing and considering its rather elegant setting for an Italian restaurant located in Pompano, it's about as good as gets; hence Five Stars.

Got there an hour before closing. One of the very first things the waitress informs us is that the kitchen needs 30 minutes to cook the meal. We are assuming this is the reason our appetizers showed up in a to-go box after our main course. The food was DELICIOUS!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! We will not be returning. I was ran into while leaving I wouldn't have cared if we had been offered a dessert menu or an after dinner drink. Soooo disappointing. We order drinks..appetizers... main courses...drinks. desserts... drinks. So disappointing for starting off a 50th birthday celebration. My birthday falls on leap year....since my husband spoils me I start my birthday off early. The picture is of my appetizer that never arrived. They just boxed it up to go. Food was yummmmmy. Everything else sucked.

For our belated Valentine’s celebration, we decided to try out La Veranda since it was new to us. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a romantic evening. Our waiter was awesome and made our experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious! Each dish was well-prepared and full of flavor. We couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. We’ll definitely be back to try more of their dishes. If you’re looking for a charming Italian restaurant with great food and a relaxed atmosphere, La Veranda is a fantastic choice.

Really ugly Entry with weeds and trash out front. Dead vines, crawling up the front They had just hosed the outdoor Terrace with chlorox making it impossible to enjoy the outdoors dining. Puddles of smelly water everywhere, and bird droppings. We ordered the Caesar salad lightly dressed, and it was floating in a very salty dressing. Lasagna was marginal. I make my own better. $28 for oysters Rockefeller that were floating in a cheese sauce and could not taste the oyster. Swordfish was excellent veggies. Also good. At this price we will not be going back.

Highly disappointed, in this place. It is bad business when a restaurant overbooks themselves. We made reservations for 8:30, when we got there, we were told that it will be an extra 30-45 mins before we can get sat. We had a drink at the bar and finally got sat at 9:45. The server finally greeted us at 10pm (No water or bread). She informed us that anything we order will take 45-60 mins. We decided to grab an appetizer and some drinks and go ahead an order. We finally got our drinks or appetizer at 10:35 (I took a picture of my watch for proof) and our dinner at 11:15pm. Food was cold by the time we got it and it was disgusting. Do not waste your Money here. Go to Gianni's Italian Restaurant down the street from here. Much better food and superb wait staff.

I had been dying to visit this place and I finally did! The outside is so cute with its vines and windows giving the appearance of an Italian home that was dropped in Fort Lauderdale. The back entrance is also very similar to European courtyards entrances which I found charming as it expands on the theme of the restaurant. I’d say La Veranda stays true to its theme with a very well thought out patio encompassing vines, lights and Italian tiles. It is so cute for pictures and if weather permits I’d say opt in for that option! The inside of the restaurant is split into two sections. The first being the restaurant itself and the second a sort of 1950’s dive bar look which I could only assume is for their jazz nights. There is a juxtaposition throughout the inside of modern and older decor which was very unexpected for me but not unwelcoming. Our host was quick to sit us and our waiter quickly got our drinks and starters. One thing I noticed is how lacking their glass selection is when it comes to red wines. The options were an Italian bottle I’d never heard of, a Meiomi Noir, and a Josh Cabernet. They were your typical wines so I can’t complain much but I would’ve loved to see more glass options. The bottle selection was plenty though, and I assume that was intended, but a whole bottle would’ve been too much for me since my party was not drinking. Each table is given a small basket of bread that did not disappoint. The small things were packed with flavor, crunchiness, and softness at the same time. They were toasty with a touch of garlic, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Our antipasti was the cheese platter which came with a blue cheese, and I believe an Asiago and a Manchego? Don’t take my word for it, I forgot to ask what they were. The cheese were accompanied with an Apricot confit which mixed well with everything but the blue cheese itself. I would say I think fig would’ve been a better accompaniment but overall the cheese platter did not disappoint. Now for the food! My husband got a Spaghetti Alla Carbonara and I got the Bugatini Romana, but this order won’t matter because we ended up liking each other’s and traded dishes. The food was beautifully presented, served with a generous portion size. The Bugatini had a demanding flavor that really called to all the tones of the tomato sauce. The carbonara was even better with the cheesiest body and a subtle touch of saltiness from the pancetta. Although carbonara is usually too salty for my taste I found this one to be the perfect combination of creamy goodness, saltiness and cheese. I would say a touch more of black pepper would’ve topped it but overall that carbonara was splendid (I’m craving more just thinking about it) After everything, we were too full for dessert but that speaks to the portion sizes which again were perfect. Now for the negatives. I can’t pinpoint to anything being generally bad. The service was great if not a bit rough around the edges. I assume our waiter was new and a bit nervous but he was very nice. Everyone was very great, overall attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. One thing that I found could use improvement is the music selection. When we were first seated there was this lovely background music playing, something along jazz and bossa nova. Mid-dinner it was replaced by a piano guy blasting pop-music renditions accompanied by what I assume was a speaker also blasting the lyrics. I don’t dislike Adele but considering we were the only party in the restaurant the volume of the music was uncalled for. My husband and I laughed about it but I think maybe a soft jazz would’ve been better suited considering the patio was playing Italian serenades. Overall, great experience! Next time I will opt for the patio since I want a closet look at the tiles and fountain. I highly recommend this place and their carbonara. Thanks for an awesome experience La Veranda team.

If you’re looking for authentic Italian food and atmosphere, this is the place to go. The outdoor area is very nice. Unfortunately, it was raining, but the indoor lounge and dinning rooms are nice and cozy. Service and food were excellent and the entire staff looked happy. The live entertainment was a huge plus. Definitely will be back soon.

My fiancee and I had an incredibly romantic evening at La Veranda! We had a table on the patio under this tree that was lit up with purple lighting, the inside looked nice too. The food was excellent, and so was the service! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice evening out with your significant other.

It was delicious! Hubby had this HUGE veal Parm, on the bone! I had Carbonara and we both took home half our meals. Very good. Chianti was also very good. Highly recommend this place.

Absolutely fantastic! The waitstaff was very kind and professional and a great help in suggesting delightful menu items. Our server made us delicious cocktails that were even off menu! Our glasses were never empty and the food is delicious. We ordered the caprese, chicken francesea, seafood linguini and tiramisu. The home made mozzarella was diving and the Francesca sauce was perfectly zesty. The tiramisu might have stolen the night - highly recommended! Prices are very reasonable considering the large portion sizes and quality ingredients. Proprietors have multi generation expertise in culinary establishments and it shows in the high quality experience you get. Don’t hesitate, definitely stop by for food!

We were greeted immediately and were able to be seated 20 minutes earlier than our 8:00 reservation. We were seated indoors, next to the fireplace. Our waiter Joe was taking care of our side of the restaurant solo and did a bang up job. We were given some warm bread which was heavenly. We started with calamari $17? and a veranda salad. The dressing was really fresh and flavorful. $12 for a big enough to share size salad. We split a bottle of Pinot Grigio from New Zealand which resembled a Prosecco but not that sweet. It was perfect! $49 My entree was Linguini Positano clams and oysters in a white wine sauce and hand made linguine. $36. It was soooo good. The perfect amount of garlic, lemon and wine gave an abundant amount of flavor. My friend ordered the two pounded grilled chicken breasts, with a healthy lemony sauce, veggies and potatoes. $26 She loved it. The patio was lively and filling up fast with beautiful people of all ages. When we arrived the inside was just as energetic with a live singer (a little too loud for conversation) but the feel was a fun energy outside crowd as well as the inside. I love the atmosphere from the lit up exterior, to being greeted by the fun, friendly host and the great service of the staff. The Napolitano decor of the interior was just so inviting. One tiny concern: (the water girl put her fingers on the lip of my water glass when filling it) big No-no for a germ phobe, but she was happy to replace the glass.) I will be back for sure, it’s great for large and small parties. Total bill with tip was around $170. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out. They really do it right.

It is ALWAYS a great experience at La Veranda! From the moment we arrive at the restaurant until we leave, we always have a good time with delicious food. Throughout our dinner, service is always top notch. All staff made sure that we had water at all times. Empty dishes were removed from the table in a timely manner. Staff always made sure we had what we needed throughout the dinner. The chicken parmigiana was delicious and the portion is very generous. My dad loved his sea bass which was fresh and tasty! Tiramisu was perfect! It is a great place to celebrate birthdays, which we have done in the past. It is also nice to go on a Friday or Saturday night when there is live music. We are always satisfied and can't wait until we will dine again at La Veranda!

I'm highly disappointed with this place from the food to the waiters. We arrived very early with the employees still doing the setups. The host place us at the table and sent John, a Spanish server that didn't speak English very well to serve us. Never mentioned the especially of the day, never ask for beer, my drink, and wine for wife again, never talk to us to sell anything from the restaurant, very bad service. The food that I think was very expensive for what was delivery didn't match the value charged at the bill. The decoration is OK, old style, I think people like Italian food like this type of decor and also a place for 60 and over people. Particularly, I will never come back ever again to this place. YOU SHOULDN'T TRY THIS.

The restaurant have a nice ambiance, staff greeted us with a warm welcome. The parking was a little tricky to find even with GPS, the sign was blocked by the garden hedges. Know the dinner, my wife had the Lobsters ravioli and I had the Seafood Pasta. The ravioli was delicious, full of flavor. We both loved the ravioli. The seafood pasta was the worst, it lacked seasoning, had no flavor. It was aft if they boiled everything together in one pot and served it. I was very disappointed with the seafood pasta. On the bright I highly recommend the Lobster Ravioli.

We went there for dinner based on a friend's recommendation on how great it was. Unfortunately, it was sold 10 years ago and the new owner has ruined it. We spent three hours with three adults and a 11 year old getting the worst service and waiting forever for our entrees that were horrible. The calamari was ok. The rest of the food is overpriced for subpar food. The pasta was overcooked, and the meatballs tasted like grade A dog food from a can. The steak special was ok but not worth $60. It wasn't even a filet. It was fatty and tough. The swordfish was bland and not worth $40. The server took 20 minutes to even take our food order. The food took 2 hours to even come out. When we complained and were about to leave, the server told us that it was coming out. It didn't come to the table for another 30 minutes. No one even came back to the table to see how the food was or cared to check on us after. By far, the most overpriced food and the worst service I have ever had. I eat out half the year while traveling for work, and the place will hopefully go out of business soon so others don't have to endure such a miserable experience.

Perfect Saturday night fun with live music. We had very delicious brushetta starter. The olive salad was incredible. And for dinner lasagne and wild mushroom risotto; all unabashedly excellent.

My girlfriend and I went there on a Thursday so that we could enjoy the music and not have a big Saturday night crowd. The service and food were excellent. Nice ambiance with a table near the fireplace. We shared on order of Tortellini with Peas and Prosciutto then had Herbs crusted roasted lamb chops, served with garlic mashed potato and Asparagus. Both dishes were absolutely delicious especially the seasoning on the lamb chops. The service was very good – they were right there whenever you needed something. We finished with Italian Cheesecake and that was also good. The music was pleasant with volume just right so you could have a conversation at your table.

We had an absolutely amazing time here. They were willing to stay open a little bit later to serve our bachelorette party. Joey is hands down the best server we have EVER had. He was funny, engaging, and he knew absolutely everything that there was to know about the menu. He gave amazing recommendations for drinks and cuisine. Everything we ate and drank came out absolutely impeccably. I recommend asking for a seat outside, the ambiance is absolutely unmatched. This will be our go-to place for authentic Italian food!

This was the best Italian Restaurant we have ever been to and we are from NYC! In Florida visiting and had a date night. Fantastic service, the most delicious food, majestic ambiance. From appetizers to our dinner, to dessert; it was all superb! The chef came out to speak to us! He was one of the nicest people we have ever met. Our compliments to the chef again, and the wonderful staff!!

NEVER AGAIN!!! My fiancé and I went to La Veranda last night and it was my first time there. He raved how good the food was so I was excited to go. Once we got there, we were asked if we had reservations, we said no but they seated us immediately. A young man came over and poured us each a glass of water and then that was it. It was like we were invisible. NO ONE came to ask us if we wanted a drink, bread or ready to order, NOTHING. They weren’t even busy or at full capacity. We weren’t dressed up, but nice and casual. Is it because we didn’t come in dressed “fancy” they thought we couldn’t afford it? Well after 20 minutes of being completely ignored we got up and left. No one even stopped us and asked if something was wrong. So we got in our $200k car that he paid cash for and decided to go to my original dinner suggestion at a local low key place and we had excellent service and great food and no one cared what we were wearing. Goes to show you that you’re judged no matter where you go and don’t underestimate the local restaurant for the so-called “upscale” restaurant - as they lacked the most important qualities: great service and kindness. We’ll NEVER go there again!

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had. Table service was great, food was delicious and the live music was truly amazing. I was visiting from out of town and the owner made my meal so delightful, I want to make it here every time I’m in town!
