Wonderful place! Had the crab cakes and the snapper. Crab cakes were almost $40, not sure about the snapper. It tasted delicious. The snapper was wonderful as well. The history of the place is outstanding and interesting. The waitress was great at explaining the history and giving a tour of the place. The boat driver was very friendly. A bit on the pricier side, but in my opinion it’s worth it. You should give it a try and decide for yourself. It should be noted that this was my first time here and I cannot attest to any others dishes as I have not tried them.

What an experience eating here! I have been recommending this place to everyone who asked. First, you have to get on a shuttle boat to get to the restaurant, which is a quaint and rustic place. It is such a classic establishment. We like every food we tried here but the key lime pie is really something to highlight. It’s not too sweet and not too sour. It’s just right.

Had a good seafood dinner here the other night. The grouper and scallops were very fresh and tasty. Service was good and the prices were not too bad. It is a good fun experience with the boat ride to and from the restaurant. In years past the boat captain would tell the history of the place but this guy did not. The resteraunt itself looks rough but it adds to the mystery and history of the place. Nice for a change and to entertain out of town guests.

Went here on a Saturday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. The service was amazing and the good was great!!! The waitress told us the history of the restaurant and she was just amazing. The prices are a little high, but worth it. You have to park in a parking area away from the restaurant and take a boat to get there, which makes for an even better experience.

Amazing ambiance, quaint water taxi and real, old-world feel! And some of the best seafood in South Florida!! We came for a birthday and left with amazing memories and an awesome experience. The food - particularly the Broiled Seafood Platter and the (ridiculous!) Maryland Crabcakes were especially delicious. The bartender was charming and she makes a great martini. Mike, our server, was kind and informative - he took great care of our party and made thoughtful recommendations as well. And all that at an incredible value, too! We’ll definitely be back!!

The best place in pompano for a great dinner with boat experience. Family owned and has such an awesome history. All of there’re food has been fantastic and fresh. We’ve been going for over 10 years. The waiters and waitresses are super nice and they know the whole story. so ask them about the history there. Food is phenomenal five stars all the way. The boat ride is a great touch. Only thing I would say is make early reservations or plan to wait for parking as their parking lot is very very small and tight. Depends on the month. And the boat driver questionable as far as being polite. We are walking up to the boat. he saw us and still unwrapped and left us. so we had to wait another 15 minutes. He does need to work on his manners. But that won’t stop us from going at all.

We showed up at opening and we’re treated really well by Robert, who took good care of us. We ordered blackened Mahi Mahi and the seafood mix, which includes scallops, shrimp and snapper. It was delicious with veggies and mashed sweet potato as sides. The fact that the restaurant is in an upscale neighborhood does take away from the individuality somewhat, but the experience is worth going for, as you take a boat over to the restaurant and the building is really old & authentic. Worth it!

Phenomenal evening! Our server, Melissa, was one of the best and funniest waitresses I have ever had at any restaurant. The oldest restaurant in Broward county did not disappoint. Nice little boat ride to the restaurant. Excellent food.

Had supper at Cap's last night with a group of 4 and it was excellent. The experience was like being transported back in time to a 1920s coastal Florida speakeasy. While Florida is full of imitation reality, these buildings are original and the staff will explain some of the history as if they were there (I expect some of them were). It is a small family business and can be eccentric. While we could order drinks in the dining room, the bar was closed (the website recommends calling ahead so while making a reservation you should check). Our party had 3 seafood meals, one steak and all were excellent. This is a unique dining experience and I will add it to my very short list of favorites.

We came here by boat. You can dock it on the side of their dock. The grilled mahi was super fresh. My bf ordered the snapper with lemon and butter garlic sauce and it was good as well. The palm salad is a must have. And the key lime pie was the best I ever had. I really enjoyed my experience here in this historical restaurant. Benita is a very knowledgeable waitress and gave us some great info on the historical facts!

To start the captain taking us over had issues and when we left he ran us into the dock. Maybe he had too many. We got there an hour early went to the bar and the bartender was the rudest bartender we’ve ever met. Wasn’t just me but the whole group we were with. Our server was good but between the boat captain and the bartender none of us will ever go back. FIRST AND LAST TIME

It’s a nice boat ride. The food is better at Denny’s. I won’t be back. Cool atmosphere. I suggest taking the boat over, enjoying an appetizer then going for a nice dinner elsewhere.

While most of food was good, fish was over done. Bacon wrapped scallops were good but scallops I had with combo were tough and honestly felt like they were not scallop but punched out shark or something to resemble scallop. While our waiter was one of the best, the outright rudeness and disdain from the bartendress ruined what little bit of a nice evening we were having. My experience in this business...she needs to retire if she hates serving/talking/relating to people that have questions about ordering a cocktail. If we had gone into bar first, we would not have stayed for dinner. Our bill with tip was almost $200 for two people. Again waiter was the best. Too bad he has to work with such a rude person.

Great food and drinks! Our server Robert did a fantastic job. Very friendly and attentive. Food didn't take long to come out and all was fresh. Definitely worth visiting.

I was so excited to try Caps. Worst experience ever. Save your money. It started off awful from the moment we walked into the bar. We decided to get a drink at the bar before dinner. The bartender was rude and has no patience at all. She wouldn’t answer any questions about what kind of cocktails they serve (they have limited amount of liquors/juices). I tried asking a question and she cut me off mid sentence and served another couple after I had been waiting in line. I would have walked out and skipped dinner if my friend had not gone to the trouble of making a reservation and telling me what a great experience it would be. It was a horrible first impression. It ruined the whole experience. I’m sure they are losing customers. I’ll never go back. Save your $$. There are so many better options with friendly employees and better service.

Do not even kid yourself about a better Seafood restaurant in South Florida. Cancel any other restaurant plans and go to Caps Place. You will thank me. Our server and guide for the night was Melissa and if you don’t find her the most intriguing server you have ever had, I will buy your meal. Best Meal Ever ….
