Great place for kids! Surrounded by nature, and open areas. The carousel is beautiful and the play ground one of the best in south Florida. Have in mind that Carousel is open Friday to Sunday 10-2 pm.

What a wonderful place for all ages! They have all kinds of interesting stuff lots of interactive exhibits! My favorite is the Rocket across the top 5 4 3 2 1 Green light blast off!! It’s free with air conditioning and plenty of parking! Spend a day at the water playground and bring a picnic lunch! Really appreciate the outdoors and fresh air!

Great place to get children interested in science and how you apply it to real life situations. Very nice place inside the sugar sand park. Also have a great garden with flowers and butterflies, and a path to walk in the woods. Only down side is that the museum is very small, but children get very into the games and spend a while there.

The Science Explorium inside Sugar Sand Park was a great activity to take the kids to on a hot summer day. It's indoors, air-conditioned, fun for pre-teens, educational, and best of all, FREE. There is a donation box at the entrance that is truly worthy of a few dollars, including from those who love bargains, like me. There are two main rooms inside that are the highlight with kids. The displays are fun, play-as-you-learn activities that keep the kids engaged for an hour or more. The kids couldn't get enough of the activity where scarves are transported through tubes through suction. The tubes are similar to what I have at home for my dryer vent exhaust. The place did get crowded as the afternoon wore on and more schools in the area were dismissed. Still, even with many kids in the limited space at the end of the afternoon, they all had a great time.

First of all, if you think you're escaping the heat by getting an indoor place, think again. Although indoors, it was shockingly hot. T-mobile and Sprint subscribers, you might lose service. We arrived and it was pretty dead. We arrived shortly after 10am and it filled up quickly. Too quickly. According to the woman in reception, there are two rooms. The one to the left, with the dark floors, had gear blocks, bigger foam dominoes, a play pen with a disco light, a train that goes around the ceiling, and a rocket that goes across the ceiling. You can control both the train and the rocket. The second room, with the light floor, had a hot air balloon, a color block activity, a hurricane/wind simulator, one of those activities where you throw the marble down and watch it swirl down, a fingerprint scanner, a sound machine, etc. This room had a lot more activities but was also a lot smaller. And as either room fills up, it starts to smell. Diapers am I right? All of the exhibits had signs that kids couldn't stand on them, understandably so, but they're all very tall and out of reach for our toddler. It was okay but between the heat and the accessibility issues, we'd rather take her to the park and splash pad.

This place is just awesome for kids and parents as well .... Sooooo much to do and explore! Something nice to do with the kids on the weekends! Get there before 12 I suggest and you can enjoy the carousel 🎠 for only a token!, the park is humongous! Definitely a 10 ⭐!!! It's absolutely free, everything!!!!! They just suggest a $5 dollar donation! Which is absolutely worth it!!!!?

My 3 year old had such a great time here, it was hard to get him to leave. It's a super cool hands-on science museum. Great for young curious kids as they learn and have fun with science. The best part is that it is also free! Great for families and even field trips. Can't wait to come back!

Wow! This place is amazing!!! We went with kids ranging from 3 to 9 and they all had a blast and didn't want to leave. My 3 year old even tried to recreate some of the exhibits when we got home. They also have a beautiful garden that kids can water by themselves. I will go again and again.

My kids and nieces definitely didn't want to leave they had so much fun. This was such an awesome experience. We all had an amazing time from the nature trail to the garden, to the science room the Merry-Go-Round and of course the playground. I was surprised that there was a water play area also with the little misters. We will definitely be back such a great day 😁😁

Incredible place for kids and adults. Lots to see and do and spend hours here. My girls 4yo and 2 yo thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a rainy day, so I plan on returning soon to enjoy the park, nature walk and carousel.

It's a really fun place. Even as the parent, I wanted to play with everything there. FREE, and right next to an AMAZING playground they just rebuilt. There is a carousel that is occasionally open for rides, too. If you are trying to keep some kids busy for a day, bring a lunch to eat at the tiki pavillion on the playground and make a day of it!

  • 5/5 Emily E. 2 months ago on Google • 10 reviews New
Great free room with lots of kids’ science activities; kids had lots of fun here and didn’t want to leave. Also a butterfly garden/nature path out back where you can see caterpillars growing which was near; ask at the desk for the bug bingo activity. Huge park nearby/outside too; has a tot area for younger kids. Carousel nearby open in the later afternoon; check for times before coming.

The place was free and considering the price it was really cool! My kids who were 7 and 8 at the time loved it and were intrested in trying every single science experiment and activities. I only wish someone would build something half as nice for the children of the community where my family and I live in the Florida panhandle...lol

So I always like this place. My kid loves coming to this place but your employee behavior today was horrible I just walk in looking to spend a good time with my kid since it was raining. As I walked in I just ask are you guys open the lady said something I could not understand and before I said something she said you have nothing to do in here wow in front of my kid. She pretty much kicked us out. I just said I'm sorry and Walked away. thanks for the experience anyway

Bought a few Inca snails, two of which were dead when I put them in the aquarium, I should've went with by gut and avoided them, but snails are a bit tough to find right now due to the pandemic. Sales person was abrasive and acted knowledgeable, when they were not. Inca snails don't eat algae, left over food or any detritus apparently... Salesperson advocated just feeding supplements?

I have a finicky pup of 1years old! The female ended up being sweet ( Alex). But at first was being a bit verbal about me returning a bag of dog food that he (my pup) wouldn’t eat! She forced the issue of how to start him to eat it by mixing it little by little to introduce it to him! I kept telling her that I had started with a small amount with his other food! But even just one piece would make him throw up! He wouldn’t eat it after 3x of throwing up! After she saw that I was getting a bit upset she handed me a booklet on how to feed your dog! I’m 58! It’s not my first pet?? I had been shopping Pet Smart and Pet Supermarkets but I just started coming to Petco because of the change in groomers for my Yorkie! I see the choice of pet food is much better! The other two stores don’t carry them! The past few time I’ve come into Petco customer service has always been spectacular!!

One Thursday morning, I went to the PetCo website in order to purchase the last available unit of a greatly discounted, clearance item that was about to be discontinued. I found it, paid for it, and then scheduled it for a "curbside pickup" to happen within the hour,. However, due to my excessively long & often changing work hours, I was unable to get over to them that day or even the next (Friday) so I phoned them on Friday afternoon to find out how long they (PetCo) will hold onto an item before refunding the sale & putting it back up on the shelf, since it had startied to appear as if I would not be able to get to the store until sometime after the entire 3-day holiday weekend. The employee who answered my phone call patiently listened to my situation, and then suggested that (despite the fact that due to adjusted hours for the Covid-19 epidemic they did not open until after I was already at work & then, furthermore, also that due to adjusted hours for the Covid-19 epidemic they would be closed well before I'm even close to getting off of work), I could pick up my package/purchase the following morning, during pre-business store hours, if it made things easier on me, since she would be opening the store that following morning & she was willing & able to go in an hour or so early & just kill time doing inventory in order to make that happen!? I mean, are you serious? Who does that? (Especially on a Saturday morning?) Well, I'll tell you who..them & nobody else I've ever known! Topping it off, I got an additional 20% off for or purchasing my item online that for curbside pick-up that day, making PetCo's price on the item well cheaper than everywhere else, even Chewy. I have nothing, but the absolute highest ratings, respect & regard for the Lighthouse Point location of PetCo & the staff that is employed there. Thank you again!

Minus the typical Florida summer heat, it was great! They have an incredible outdoor play area which has the now common rubberized ground, and has an area that shoots out mist that kids can play in (bring towels and clothes/bathing suits kids can get really wet in), multiple sets of swings that kids from most age groups can enjoy, a huge and I mean huge play castle with multiple levels that's have slides from different levels. They also have shaded areas for parents to relax in, being snacks and food. You can rent pavilions for events as well. Inside is the science area where they have multiple really interesting exhibits you're able to interact with. Out back they have some gardens where you can water the plants and and do a little nature walk. Admission is free, however they do work off of donations and it is highly recommended if you enjoy yourself to support them. I brought my 20 month old and I feel she was probably a little too young to understand most of the science things going on, but she still seemed to enjoy herself!

Sugar Sand Park and the children's science explorium is easily one of the best family places you can visit in Boca Raton. They have two rooms that have interactive exhibits that they alter from time to time both rooms are very unique one has a lot of physics and everything is touch and feel and sensory. Outside they have a beautiful butterfly garden that you can water as well as beautiful trails to walk on.

Amazing little exploration corner for the kiddos. It's free but donations of $1, $5 or more is welcomed. So bring a few bucks with you to show your gratitude for all the fun your kiddos will have it is worth the drive and donation. You can make it an all day long thing or however long you want. Bring snacks and drink and if your kid is into water bring a bathing suit 😉. Happy summer ☀️!!

FREE. 10 & 6 year old & I loved. No food or drink inside - but able to eat outdoors, pavilions/benches. Bathrooms were very clean. Small outdoor butterfly area where plants can be watered with watering cans. Indoor area of various science stations and was awesome. Playground out front is phenomenal. Bring suits/towels or change of clothes, ghere is a water area. Carousel is there, but closed for maintenance today while I am here.
