This place is insanely busy because it has EVERYTHING you can imagine. What a fantastic park for everybody, any age and any sport! The baseball fields were totally filled up, the volleyball area was exceptionally busy, the tennis courts were all packed! Looks like a fantastic place to have a party, meet with friends and of course enjoy the surrounding if you are either playing there or have kids that are playing there. If you have found this review helpful please give me a πŸ‘ thumbs up and feel free to follow. 😊 #playground #tennis #volleyball #baseball

Our visit was going well until a rude gentleman forced us off the tennis courts. The courts were all completely empty. We were the only ones there. He told us we had to pay him before he leaves. My 9 year old was horrified at his behavior. We gathered our things to leave when he continued on with his rant. He then told us that we could go to the free courts elsewhere. So I guess because were African-American, we must not belong and aren’t welcomed. No worries, we will never return!! Thank you for your hospitality. my nine year-old has now had her first experience with racism.

We love this park with the kids. It has a separate toddler playground and one for bigger kids. It has a basketball court, a squash court and a baseball field, where the kids can run around. During the holiday season it has a big wonderful Christmas tree. They keep this park very well maintained and clean.

Frank McDonough Park is named in honor of a man who served as a city commissioner and Mayor of Light House Point for 25 years. Frank McDonough moved from Chicago to Florida to escape his hay fever in 1954, two years before Light House Point even became a city. He served on the city commission from 1963 to 1968 and then was appointed mayor in 1968. He was re-elected until he resigned in 1984. In 1989 he was elected as mayor again and formerly retired in 1993 while still staying active in city affairs. In 1982 Lake Placid Park was renamed Frank McDonough Park in honor of his many years of service to the city. Frank McDonough passed away in 2001 at the age of 81. Frank McDonough Park started as a field that city recreation pioneer Dan Witt and some other fathers cleared so that children living in Light House point could have a recreation league of their own. Fifteen pallets of sod were donated so a football league could practice. Today, six acre Frank McDonough Park provides recreation to all ages in Lighthouse Point. The park has a baseball field, football/soccer field, sand volleyball court, 2 racquetball courts, 9 clay tennis courts which is home to the Lighthouse Point Tennis Center, a covered firefighter themed playground with two play area, one for tots, and one for older kids, and restrooms. Added to the park in 2020 is outdoor body-weight resistance workout equipment that includes a sit-up bench, chest press, pull-up bars, leg press, push-up station and more. This park is ideal for sports, play, and working out. The city has even staged concerts in the park in the past. Don't forget to stop by the Heroes Shrine located in the northwest corner of the park where you will find a memorial to those who serve in the military and first responders.

This Lighthouse Point community park is a central park of this great city. Many community events are celebrated here. Tennis, volley ball, hand ball, outside gym, children playgrounds and a large open field for various sports make this a 5 star Park

We love this park!! 2 play areas. One is for the little guys. The other is for the bigger little guys. They have racquetball court. There is a tennis center there, which you have to be a member and so much green space to roam, run, sit. Etc...

Great park with lots of activities...the playgrounds are great. One for the little kiddos and another for the bigger kiddos. They also added a workout area. There is nothing like working out in the open air.

πŸ‘ I love to go here and sit by the water it is so relaxing and quiet. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because dogs are not allowed. I so much would love to bring my little dog to sit by the water with me and walk him around. It's a shame that responsible people with bags can't enjoy it wit...
