Dog are not allowed at the beach but no one stop me at the pier ( must pay to enter) Nice beach right with a cute little area right before you hit the sand with lounge chairs and benches. perfect to relax and do some people watching. There are several restaurants to choose from in surrounding the area. Good to know that to park for the entire day will cost you $31.

Nice and cozy area to enjoy beach time with your family. Plenty of restaurants. There are many meter parkings around the area. A big parking lot just 3 blocks north of Commercial Blvd on N. Ocean Dr. Will cost you around $3.77 per hour with PayByPhone app. It can get busy on weekend, especially, when it close to noon time.

Overall this is a great nice Beach that rests between the typical busy Ft Lauderdale area and calmer neighbor Pompano. Lauderdale by the Sea is quaint and it has everything that you need. The only problem is when it gets busy it is uncomfortable. Too many cars and too many people in a small area. Into another problem: I wish that there was more recycling stations and drinking water stations. There are a lot of trash bins but nothing is marked recyclable and it would be helpful to do that. Overall, it is a good beach.

Great small community beach. No high rises. Some decent eats. Good for snorkeling, diving, fishing, and photography.

Smaller, quieter, easier navigating and relaxing beach town that has find white sand beach and lots of activities to do. The scale is this area is great. It really promote the walking culture. Super relaxing whether I’m sea or on beach or dine and shop.

Parking is difficult as the lots are small and there aren't that many street parking spaces, however we were lucky to find a spot on Ocean Dr. Payment is through an agp. Unfortunately we were only allowed to stay for 3 hours max. The pier is out of service due to the collapse midpoint from TS Nicole last year. The beach on the south side of the pier is much less crowded. The water was calm and clear. I didn't learn of the reef just off shore until we arrived, but I will be going back soon with my snorkeling gear and dive buoy to check it out. Lots of Scuba divers and snorkelers swimming out to the reef. There is a shower at the beach entrance to wash off the salt and maintenance crew drive tractors multiple times throughout the day to clean up trash and bury the seaweed. There are a lot of restaurants and hangouts in the area. Great local spot to enjoy the beach.

I loved the friendliness and sense of community in this cozy little area. Lots to do including dance class and night of fun provided by the town of Lauderdale by the sea. Things are all in walking distance or take whywalk shuttle also provided by the town and runs on tips. Can be a little pricey area though.

Best beach I've been to in the area. It's surprisingly clean - no garbage in the sand! There are significantly fewer people here than down farther at Los Olas. Lots of shops nearby and restaurants. Highly recommend this area. No lifeguards on duty but you can walk out pretty far into the water without it being too deep.

I love everything about the Lauderdale-by-the Sea Beaches and their touristy restaurants on Commercial Boulevard! They offer 2.5 miles of pristine beaches, an iconic pier and mid-century architecture that exude the old Floruda charm ! The area is walkable and bikeable with stunning ocean vistas.El Prado Park offers a colorful, serene area to relax and it's steps from the beach. This is one of south Florida's gems !!

Nice and clean beach. Showers available on the beach. But not live guardians on this beach. Beautiful piers over here. Where you can watch on the pelicans. Also here you can rent some fishing sticks for fishing. A lot of great restaurants close to this beach.

Beautiful and peaceful beach. They maintain it pretty well. There is a pier too, many restaurants, bars and shops nearby which makes it a cool spot to hang out and spend some time. There is a fishing pier as well with bait shop. Just 100 yards from the beach is the first reef of a three-tiered natural coral reef system, which makes it Florida’s beach diving capital. There is plenty of paid parking around the area, not too expensive and easy to find. Would definitely recommend this beach if you are in the area.

Great location not just for tourists but locals. There are lots of good restaurants, 2 well known ice cream parlors, shopping which is mostly for tourists, the best gelato place I personally have been to, the pier is beautiful to catch a sunrise or the breath of a gorgeous sunset and so much more.

Beautiful beach and pier located just off of Commercial Boulevard and A1A. Many great restaurants with plenty of shops. During holidays and peak times it can get very populated. Parking is provided by Broward County usually at $3/hour.

The ocean after sunset is ominous kind of scary to go swimming but my friend enjoyed it the eating establishments are all buzzing after sunset and live music all around the food was good seafood the drinks are kind of expensive $15 for a negroni cocktail but that's to be expected food was also pricey but a nice nice area and the beach very good for the tourists and the economy parking is easily found within walking distance from the beach

So beautiful and really love it. This pier charges $2 to walk up and down it so be prepared for that. I had no card or cash on me so could go. Beautiful surroundings, plenty of food choices.

Love this beach, especially for the kids. The water is more serene than our other fav beach, Las Olas Beach. The kids can swim and I'm not stressing that they're being swept away by a rogue rip current. This is definitely a family beach.

Lively beach. Lovely soft sand, plenty of sun beds for hire. Nice seating areas wirh shade off the beach. Few nice places to eat. Italian pastries and coffee. Also nice pub food. Lots of seafood, too. Few nice souvenir shops with friendly staff. Prices ok.

Irresponsible: One of the most popular beaches in this area, but the only one that skimps on the safety of its visitors: NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY! A seven-year-old girl from Indiana lost her life needlessly here on February 20th, but could have otherwise been saved. Shame on you, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea... but there seems to be more than enough money for several surveillance vehicles that constantly cruise every corner of the village to check payment of the parking fee...

Great place to visit and spend the day by yourself, w friends or family. Relaxed environmental with many outdoor shops, restaurants and bars. A bit touristy but located on the Atlantic Ocean. Sand Beach w a damaged pier from Hurricane Nicole. Been here many times. Always fun by the beach.

  • 4/5 Simo C. 6 months ago on Google
Great beach with good infrastructure. The only reason I don't rate it higher is due to the fact that there aren't many restaurants to choose from if you feel like eating something. Still is a great place to spend a day. Parking could be a problem on weekends but I still highly recommend it.

Crowded, not always the most tidy, but great beach. On your way to the beach the commercial blvd also has some good shopping options and great ice cream. The pier is lovely to watch some nice sunsets.
