Pompano Beach Municipal Golf Course

Golf course

🫤 Pompano Beach Muni is fine for the money. What's frustrating is that the things that could make it so much better are free and they won't do it. Positives: Cheap. You can't play golf for <$50 in Florida in peak times so its nice that it is affordable. Galuppis is also fun that it is right there so... People often mention play, greens, condition, Pines, played, great, range,

Pompano Beach Muni is fine for the money. What's frustrating is that the things that could make it so much better are free and they won't do it. Positives: Cheap. You can't play golf for <$50 in Florida in peak times so its nice that it is affordable. Galuppis is also fun that it is right there so its easy to get drinks at the turn or have a cold one after a round. The course is actually in fair condition for the value. I don't expect it to look like Doral or Streamsong if your customers are only paying $30/round Cons: There's no sand available for carts so the fairways look like hell. They won't let you walk the Pines course, the pace of play is often slow as molasses. The other day, I was a single and stuck behind a mom and her 2 kids. They didn't let me through and the only ranger I saw was on another hole practicing his chipping. Summary: Pompano is a perfectly fine course if you just want to knock around a few holes.

Just played over the weekend, not sure in what condition the Pines course is but avoid playing the Palms at all cost. If it were cheaper to play it It would be understandable, the greens have bold spots on almost every other hole and weeds growing like crazy. I cannot justify paying 45 dollars to play a course that has not been taken care of properly. Playing Pines next weekend to see what the condition is.

Played Palms. Check in felt like i was at a window at a pawn shop.. Starter friendly and efficient. Horrible condition. Tees bare, rough is weeds, greens are recently punched. Driving areas fair sized, huge traps in front of many domed greens made approaches tough for me. Bring an extra kidney. Cart paths are the worst I've seen in 65 years. Large party tent at Clubhouse. Great place to get covid.

Played the Palms. Course was in good condition. Greens were in good condition except for one on back nine. Paid $45 for the round with cart. Played 18 holes in 3.5 hours.

This was so disappointing. Range was more than tired and off mats that had seen better days. Range balls were just awful. Practice facilities were scruffy and badly kept. Played the Pines course which they said is the better of the two they have. It was a total goat ranch. Fairways and around the greens simply awful for 65 dollars each plus 7% tax. Never had so many bare lies in the middle of a fairway!!! Greens were very slow compared to other local courses we have played this month. Pitch marks not repaired everywhere. Dyed green sand simply thrown on bare patches. Like putting on the moon. Litter and cans on the course which is unforgivable and bins were over flowing this afternoon. No coincidence that the holes that could easily be seen from A1A the main road were better prepared (for show) but still poor. This was a shame as the bag guy and the starter along with the local couple we played with were lovely people and great company. We wanted to leave after three holes but didn’t want to seem rude as the couple we were playing with we found out we’re members and we didn’t want to offend them as they were great. Have played golf for 30 years all over the world and this I’m afraid is in my top two worst ever tracks. We live reasonably locally but won’t ever play again and avoid at all costs if your a decent golfer. If you like to spend over 5 hours hacking around and it may be for you? Try Coral Springs, Osprey Pointe and Oriel. All in significantly better shape.

As a senior golfer playing from gold, I enjoyed my first time at the Pines 18-hole course very much. The greens are among the best I've ever played on. With the exception of the 1st fairway having ground under repair, it is in fine shape. Although this is Florida, water doesn't become a major factor until 16, 17 and 18. As a municipal course, the weekday price was terrific. Driving range (mats), chipping green, and putting green are all available. All staff were very helpful. I'll be back. The entrance was hard to find on the large city municipal campus. It's to the left of the restaurant - look for the golf carts. Parking is plentiful.

It was actually the first course I played when I moved down from Jersey in 1998. Played both courses for at least 5 years. I love both tracks. The Pines plays right along the airport, and you'll see the Goodyear blimp taking off or landing. The raccoons are plenty and will steal your goodies, so keep them hidden. Some tough holes out there so play well. Galuppi's is a great restaurant linked to the proshop. Great views, great food and great atmosphere. The staff followed all social distancing guidelines. The Palms course is walking only but very inexpensive. Lots of fun out there. Enjoy. Driving range on site.

Very busy, but smoothly run municipal course. Able to handle a lot of people both practicing and playing. Spent a little over an hour on the range. Signage could be better directing out of towners to the range and ball machine. TIP: purchase tokens in the pro shop at the little window on the left as you walk in the door. Ball machine is far left of the starter station at the far end of the cart garage

The driving range needs some greens, it’s conveniently located for a bucket or two and as for the golf course well I don’t like to say anything bad especially in my local area, that I genuinely love . I was not wowed when playing on Greg Norman’s signature course . Florida had a lot of golf locations. So even a good course would look sub par . To say the least. I say it has it’s pros and cons . On a positive note it’s very close to my area , beautiful park and air park all around this area makes the area 5 stars not on a resort level but in general it’s a beautiful area , also there is the club house open to the public no annual fees needed ( that’s great in my opinion! ) and it’s a good place to play a round . Keep in mind I’m probably the worst golfer in Florida . Especially when I grew up so close to so many. I just enjoy the open space and if I can make the par here it’s saying something. All around it’s a nice place and the employees have all be very nice especially to people who are not paying annual fee ( I don’t play often) so it’s close, and perhaps the perfect solution to better my game . Thank staff 5 stars , bar tender, needs to have 2 on a busy day. It can fill up and you might have to take a table . that’s to be expected any place in season. Summer it’s very easy to get t time and a seat after a game or practice at the range . Season starts in September/October-to April/May then it’s mostly local folks . Only con is the greens could be better . ( for a public course , I suppose it’s to be expected) . Water must have been just treated ( it was unusual )

Inplayed Palms. Decent greens, the rest is comparable to a cow pasture. Horrible course. Unplayable (can't chip off bare ground, weeds, very little grass in the fairways)
