My family had a blast on a private 1-hour tour with Captain Roberts. I definitely think it was worth it to get the private tour. We went far enough out to feel like we were away from civilization. We didn't really have any expectations of seeing anything, but we did see a gator, turtles, and beautiful birds. The guide was knowledgeable and fun. Just being able to ride in an airboat was a cool experience. I would 100% book another trip if I ever return to the area. The exhibits on land were pretty cool to look at while we waited for the ride, and my kids loved petting a baby gator. The staff members are super nice and down to earth. Great family atmosphere.

This place was a blast! Everyone was so kind and amazing and helpful. The gift shop has so much different varieties of items, and so much fun gifts for yourself and others. The tour was absolutely outstanding. He saw 3 gators, multiple beautiful birds and turtles. The tour was so much fun in the tour guide explained a lot of different things but in a fun way. He described the different types of birds and he seemed to really care about his job and he knew a lot about all the different animals! He was so friendly and having fun with us. I definitely recommend this place. Also, we went to the other area where they keep some alligators and crocodiles and snakes, and it was amazing. We also got to pet a baby alligator, and the experience was outstanding! Thank you

It was a very enjoyable experience. The staff is very informative and friendly. The price of the 40 minute air boat tour is extremely reasonable. We saw three wild alligators, birds, and a few fish. In my opinion this is a worthy trip and a fun way to see the Everglades.

45 min air boat ride was really fun and exiting. Captain Zack was very friendly and guided us throughout the tour. Nice cloudy 72 f weather made the ride beautiful, get to see 2 female gators. Exhibit had a mixture of reptiles and pets, had an opportunity to pet a baby gator and was totally worth it. Friendly staff and kid friendly.

I wanted to see alligators.. I saw alligators. I wanted to taste alligator meat.. I tasted alligator meat. How did I like it??? I liked it. Lol I felt safe on the air-boat. The guide was informative and nice. I wished it was longer but I still enjoyed myself. I saw a beautiful peacock there, too. I had a hard time getting a pic because I didn't wanna scare it off.. n there was a lizard there that did the million dollar dash on its hind legs... that was hysterical to witness..

Pretty fun for a 30 mins boat ride. Less than $30 per person. We saw 2 alligators and 1 bird in the wild. The animal park was fun too. We watched 2 alligators got feed with chicken legs. I also bought a cute ring from the gift shop.

It's true you may not see wildlife depending on the time of day or the time of year but the boar ride itself is not only entertaining and pleasant overall the guides are very knowledgeable and informative. Don't go on a rainy or extremely hot day and I highly recommend the Gator Nights tours. The photo souvenirs are reasonably priced, staff is friendly, good food at the food truck, and the homes they have provided for unreturnable to the wild animals is sweet the caretakers love the like pets. Good for kids, ask about the annual pass for residents.

Pretty fun air boat ride and short tour of some Everglades and gator waters. There is a small reptile rehab area to see alligators, snakes and others up close. Worth the longer private air boat tour - as the bigger the boat the louder it is. They generously provide ear plugs and there is a nice convenience/souvenir store.

I was excited to ride on an airboat and see the Everglades! The boat captain, after realizing I was interested in birds, pulled the boat around several times in attempt to get me closer to some specimens to photograph. The only suggestions I have would be to provide more information about the flora and fauna in the area without requiring the guests to ask specific questions (some folks are interested in the biodiversity of the Glades aside from gators) and for the captains to provide a bucket at the end of the ride for people to throw their ear protection away. I saw several orange earplugs along the walkways around the animal enclosures, inside one of the gator enclosures and in the marshy area by the parking lot. This can be reduced by providing specific trash receptacle as soon as exiting the boat.

This is the authentic Florida adventure! Do not miss the opportunity to ride one of these amazing airboats. Sawgrass Recreational Park offer you the opportunity to sail trough the Everglades and they have also a mini zoo where you can interact with some of the local animals (even alligators). This is an attraction for the entire family, because kids and grownups will enjoy it equally, it’s super fun and a great opportunity to enjoy nature and learn about Florida ecosystem. 100% recommended 👍

A beautiful day to visit Sawgrass Recreational Park! We had a great hamburger hot dogs and french fries. We saw snakes, alligators, turtles & some other stuff. We had a great tour guide or just an employee! I believe his name was BARRY, he was fantastic, he was so polite, funny, informative, just a great guy! I have a great idea you should really give little tiny samples of those alligator bites, when people get out of their car or bus or whatever! Nice afternoon! ❤ 🐊 !

The family had a great time on our 40 min air boat tour. The place has several different size of boats to cater to your preferences such as a large group or more private/small group tour. This area of Florida/Everglades is more grasslands so if your looking for more mangroves type of air boat ride you need to head west towards Naples or western part of the glades. That said, this facility has ample parking, a great gift shop, clean bathrooms, and several exhibits to see alligators, crocodiles, giant turtles, and more. They also have several food options to chose from, including gator bites. :). We recommend Sawgrass for anyone visiting and even the locals (like me) should check this place out. We had a great time.

4/5 The good * Wetlands and nature! * gators * professional and informative staff * beautiful natural scenery * Everglades! For improvement * the store can be better organized * the animal exhibit can be more creative * the presentation of the big gators can be improved * I wonder if the use of engines means gators always hide, what about a way to get a boat around by paddle? * what if the 4x6 picture cost $10? Maybe you’d move more stock and earn more overall? * sell some food somewhere? You’d earn a lot since many tourists (Asians!!) love to eat and try new food.

Fun experience and enjoyed both the boat tour and the exhibits. Captain Disco was great and found us a few large gators as well as other wildlife. He was great at explaining things. The exhibits were neat and the attendant even called us over to let us touch a baby alligator which was a highlight. Good variety in their gift shop and nice to see things reasonably priced!

We had a great time on the air boat ride. Can't go to South Florida without an airboat ride to the Everglades. Didn't see any Gators but the gator bites at the food truck we're pretty good. Souvenir shop and baby gator petting zoo

We highly recommend this place. Liked that they were able to book us a private tour a day before and that the tour was very informative. We got to see 2 gators from far away but they moved when we tried to get closer because they are not big fans of the airboats. I've learned that coming to see gators in the Everglades is like trying to see the northern lights, your not 100% sure if they'll appear but you'll never know if you don't get out there and try.

This place is good but not great. I went here once 4 years ago and it was much better. This time around, they got rid of most mammals and they don't do gator talks after every boat tour, only the big ones. This throws off the timing for the baby alligator holding/petting too. They should try to keep an hourly schedule which allows customers to do a boat tour, gator talk, gator holding, and then exhibits in that order. Also, I didn't see any alligators on the airboat ride. I won't fault them for that since it's wildlife and the captain/guide was definitely looking for them, but they should send scouts in smaller boats frequently to find where they are. This way, the airboats would spend less time searching and more time viewing. Overall, I'd recommend visiting if you've never been for the airboat experience which is unique, but it's not really a place to go multiple times.

Our guide was super informative and went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable and had a great experience. The air boat ride was super fun and relaxing. The scenery was amazing. We went around 2pm. Would def recommend and I plan to go again with my dad soon.

We enjoyed a fantastic air boat ride at Tge Sawgrass Recreation Park today ! Our guide, Bob, was informative, funny and a skilled driver. We saw one large alligator at the end of the ride which was a great bonus since it was nesting season and there was a good chance we would not see any. Florida residents get a pass for the year so we can come back anytime we want for a free ride - that's amazing ! Highly recommend the air boat ride !

Fun experience and a must do at least once. When you’re on the boat, the wind feels nice as you’re speeding along the swamp. We got a chance to see a gator and a soft shell turtle up close thanks to Capt. Dalton. Make sure to check out the exhibits afterwards, you might get the chance to hold a snake or touch a gator!

We bought tickets through Miami tours and they provided us with a bus to the location. We were greeted with ear plugs and put right on a boat. Our captain tried to find gators but no luck. We saw a few birds and an iguana after 30 minutes we were brought back to shore and taken to the gator show. The female gator is as active and the male gator just went underwater when the employee got close. They did let everybody touch a baby gator which was fun! Overall a good experience just wish we could have seen a gator on the airboat

Very friendly staff, may not see gators on the tour depending on the day and time but the boat ride itself it beautiful, recommend the night tours! Grab some gator bites from the food truck and check out the cute retail store. Affordable picture souvenirs ranging from keychains and photos to awesome little flash drives that look like alligators!

Great experience recommend for all family. Gift shop is nice, they have beer. The staff is super nice and friendly, and understanding. They have a small zoo and you can pet baby alligators. If weather gets ugly while there you can always reschedule, staff is great.

We did the one hour night tour. Saw lots of alligators. Really glad we chose to go at night. It can be too hot in July to see gators during the day. Captain Disco was knowledgeable and made sure to find as many gators as possible. Just being in the everglades at night under the stars was beautiful!

Awesome experience. We did the private tour. Which I highly recommend. It was a bit chilly for seeing alligators but our guide Mark was able to find us one. And was very knowledgeable about the Everglades. I learned lots about frogging and what birds and fish are here. From start to finish it's well worth your time.

Since I love nature this was a very good experience for me. We had air boat ride for almost an hour for $27 in the Everglades. They also have small zoo with snakes, reptiles and alligators in there. We were lucky and got to see an alligator in the Everglades which was a really good experience. Don’t expect much while going out there just enjoy the ride and the things you see around.

We bought upgraded tickets allowing unlimited entry to gator park, flamingo garden and butterfly garden. The gator park was great- open airboats. Guide was very informative and knew the history of the glades as well as wildlife information. We saw gators and large softshells that swam right up to the boats on multiple occasions. Kids enjoyed the ride as well as the exhibits. Had gator bites afterwards at the grill. These were not breaded and deep fries- more pan fried, seasoned (were like a mix between pork and chicken)- different than I was used to and were very good as well. Definitely worth the drive and we are looking forward to visiting the other 2 parks as well

Captain Mike was great. The food served was pretty good they had an appetizer Gator tail bites. It's nearly $50 per adult for a maximum of a 30-minute airboat ride.

We had an amazing experience on the Sawgrass Airboat Tour! The weather was perfect, and our captain, Johny, made the trip even more enjoyable with his knowledge and humor. We were fortunate to spot an alligator and a wide variety of beautiful birds during the tour. The pricing was reasonable at $26 for adults and $16 for kids, making it a family-friendly adventure. In September Broward county has BOGO and this adventure is part of it l, for extra savings. The were interesting exhibits to explore. The cleanliness of the bathrooms was a pleasant surprise, and the souvenir shop offered a variety of mementos and drinks to cool off. There is plenty of parking. Although we didn't dine at the ice cream truck or cafe, it's nice to know they were available. We left with cherished memories of this fantastic tour. We highly recommend the Sawgrass Airboat Tour for a fun and educational adventure in the Florida Everglades!

Family and friends came to visit us from Europe and asked to see FL gators. Took them to this park and we all had a fantastic time. Park is small, but well organized. Take an Airboat ride, watch wildlife and enjoy the glide through the Everglades. The Gator Show with John was Amazing! Speechless! Very informative and fun, not to mention two cute baby gators. Plan on spending 2-3 hours, souvenir shop has a great merchandise. Loved it!

Wonderful family owned business. Our family of 4 enjoyed the boat ride and they were very accommodating to our travel needs. My mother is on oxygen and they were very patient with her, even pulled out a chair in the air conditioned gift shop for her to sit. It was the perfect amount of time and we saw 2 gators and some native birds. The animal exhibit was great. We saw more animals than I was expecting and pet baby gator. All animals are rescued! We had lunch at the food truck before heading home. Would visit again!

I love this place! Easy parking and little to no waiting time to get on the airboat. Our boat driver Jimmy told us facts about the gators that you can’t find on google and was very knowledgeable about what he was doing. My only advice is book a tour on a cooler day if you want to see an alligator, since they go dormant and you most likely won’t see one if it’s above 92° outside. Their gift shop was stocked with cool gator items too. Would recommend visiting here!

Fantastic experience! We had a great time on the airboat with captain Mike. He was able to find couple of alligators and get close to them and provide lots of interesting information. All the folks working there were super friendly! We would definitely recommend this tour to everyone.

My girlfriend, her brother and I went to Sawgrass Recreation Park Everglades Airboat Eco Adventures last weekend for a private airboat tour and it was awesome. Our captain, Zack, showed us all the cool spots and animals out in the Everglades and he is very educated on the wildlife in the area. I highly recommend going and spending the money to go on a tour with Captain Zack - he won't let you down!

Great experience. We had the opportunity to see wild birds and alligators and also the exhibitions was another level of experience with an 65 years old alligator and also you can touch baby gators. Moreover, food lovers can taste them as well! Highly recommended!

This place was AWESOME just a small park with a reptile exhibit, I got to pet a 4 yr old alligator the airboat ride was fun and educational. You want to allow about 2hrs for the Ride and exhibit. The gift shop was nice too overall I give this place an A+ for value for your buck.

My 4 years old loved it, my 9 years old liked it. Be sure to wear sunglasses if you don’t wear glasses, because the wind make it hard to see while moving and the baseball cap is quick to fly away (uou have to hold on to it the whole time). Our captain was funny and kind, we saw two aligators, an iguana and a lot of birds I’ve never heard of during our 45 minutes tour. The waiting time is a little long and the ride is quickly done. Overall, it was really great.

Had a fun time here. Booking issues through a hotel in South Beach caused a couple hiccups but we made it up. The boat tour was surprisingly smooth and relaxing. I was expecting more of a bayou feel but it was mostly open water and grass. Saw one wild gator. The presentation back at the visitor center was entertaining and informative.

The experiment of traveling in the swamp is awesome . We did see some alligators from a little distance. They move away as they hear the noise of the propeller. They have a nice mini zoo as well . Worth the Visit .

Had a great time during the Airboat Tour; Captain Disco was an awesome host/ entertainer. We saw a few Alligators lurking, he educated us about them and other animals that live out there. In addition we learned about the history of the Everglades. Lastly there are a few exhibits for the family that everyone can enjoy, a Photo Booth and an amazing gift shop too. You’ll definitely enjoy this Adventure!!! Btw every staff at the park was welcoming and by far pleasant!!! Definitely a plus for me; I’ll most certainly return and I recommend 😃

Amazing place! The bout tour was a great experience and the captain was very informative (Captain Nick). The girls in the gift shop (Abby, Penelope, & Suni) were so sweet and helpful and guided us out to our tour. The alligator presentation is one you wouldn’t want to miss (Will) did an amazing job at explaining everything about the reptiles and the sanctuary. Five stars from me would highly recommend visiting!!

We had a great time on the airboats. We had Captain Disco and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw 3 alligators, 1 right off the dock, and then 2 more in the water. We also saw an eagle and a raccoon. It’s a 30 minute air boat ride and then they have a small walk around exhibit area. The gator bites were good from the food truck.

  • 5/5 Kristi G. 1 year ago on Google
This was fun! I conquered a fear doing this little excursion. Drivers of the boats are very informative and you learn a lot. It’s exciting to ride these boats through the water and vegetation. We did a mid afternoon ride and we saw a couple alligator eyes peaking out of the water. I heard that evening rides are where it’s at! The alligators eyes glow in the dark and when the drivers lights shine out in the distance you see lots of glowing eyes. They’re exhibit was nice and they have a food truck on site to try some gator. And they have the sweetest peacocks named Kevin and Fred. They are a rescue organization so they love financial support. I’m so glad I did this and I’m really happy they exist and do good work for our creatures in the Everglades. I recommend visiting and ride the fan boats!!

My family and I recently went on a great private ride with Captain Zack. Despite it being a busy time of the year (right after the holidays), we didn’t have to wait in any lines and got right on our own personal airboat. Captain Zack then took us on an informative 60 minute cruise through the Everglades, during which we spotted tons of wildlife - including gators and a variety of native birds (even an osprey). Overall it was a great day and I highly recommend booking a private ride if you’re looking for a memorable day out!
