A small supermarket with most of the this you might need on vacation. They have fresh meat, bread and fish although the fish doesn’t smell very fresh at the end of the day. The pathways are a bit small and it can be quite chaotic. The staff is quite friendly and they mostly understand English. Prices are usually reasonable.

Has all the necessities. Reasonably priced, friendly staff, open till late. Parking is an issue though. Unfortunately there isn't always available outside due to the beach front location. Parking in the covered parking is a tight squeeze. Shopping experience is good though

Small supermarket with all the essentials. Have a parking lot with 1 hour free if you buy something. The prices are reasonable.

The only real supermarket in Calheta - easily accessible from any of the hotels and stocks a wide variety of food/drinks and other products.

Good supermarket. Great meat and fish. Fresh orange juice. Good choice in wine. Parking only for experienced drivers.

You can buy/get everything you need here but its very busy all the time, the butchers area is somewhat stinky and parking is competitive. Not a pleasurable shopping experience - there are better/quieter alternatives.

Everything you need and more. This is not a tourist store, but does have some German dairy products (quark, yogurt). Excellent wine selection and prices. In store bakery, meat and fish counters. Excellent fresh fruit and vegetables. Spent 200 euro for a grocery cart of food and wine. Left happy.

Good supermarket with large choice. Ideal for the stuff you need while staying in Calheta. There is also a pharmacy in the Building. Try the self checkout for avoiding the queues.

If you're looking for a basic supermarket experience in Calheta, Pingo Doce might fit the bill, but don't expect much more. The store lacks the variety you'd hope for when it comes to essential shopping needs in the area. One aspect that stands out is cleanliness, and unfortunately, it's not in a positive way. Pingo Doce in Calheta doesn't excel in this department, which can be off-putting for discerning shoppers. When it comes to product diversity, this supermarket falls short. There simply aren't many options to choose from. This limitation can be frustrating when you're trying to find specific items or explore new products. One recurring issue is the state of the packaging, especially with coffee products. It's not uncommon to come across open packages, and there's often a shortage of coffee capsules. This lack of attention to detail can be quite inconvenient for customers who rely on a consistent supply of their favorite products. In conclusion, while Pingo Doce in Calheta serves its purpose as a basic supermarket, it leaves much to be desired in terms of variety, cleanliness, and product availability. If you're looking for a more diverse and well-maintained shopping experience, you might need to explore other options in the area.

Unfortunately, prices are too high. This retailer needs to remember that if they reduce their prices, poor people will be able to buy more items for less money. And learn to keep the store tidy. 🤔

Has everything you need. Reasonable prices and friendly, helpful staff. Not a lot of parking but you can usually find a space somewhere nearby.
