The newly renovated park is absolutely beautiful. My kids, ages 1-5, love all the different things to do and climb on. They have a little of everything. It is a lot easier to see my kids compared to the prior park. It is still very busy with places to hide but I am not quite as paranoid about trying to keep an eye on them. I wish the toddler area had a full gate separating it from the larger park but it just keeps me on my toes making sure my little does run off with the big kids. The splash pad is great for the really little ones. The big kids splash pad is pretty basic with one large fountain sprayer. The kids still have fun running in circles around it. It is very packed through the day so I like to go earlier to avoid as much chaos as possible.

Excellent park for families of all ages. Everything is wheelchair accessible, stroller friendly, and made with modern child development in mind making this a truly fun place to visit as a family any day of the week! 😊 There is a separate toddler play area, a great play area for older kids adjacent to it, a splash pad, and even a skate park. My only compliant was that on the day of our visit, the park did have some litter inside the actual children's play area which wasn't great with how young my babies are; but it was a holiday weekend in Jacksonville, so take that with a grain of salt. 😊Hands down worth the trip regardless. Would return again if I was in the area and recommend it to other parents in the area.

Recently updated playground that is sure to please the kids in your life. There are handicap accessible activities on the playground. There's a seasonal spray park, soccer fields, sand volleyball, tennis courts, a multiuse sports field, a walking trail, and a bowl style cement skate park.

No matter how old your kids are, there’s something for them in this park! I would say this is the best park around the area which has been renovated recently. Huge playground that is even for little ceiling once. Handicap accessible. Splash pad for hot days, Restrooms, Soccer fields, Sand volleyball, Tennis courts, a walking trail, cement skate park and more. The only negative thing is if you are alone and have more than a kid, you will struggle to keep an eye on all of them since it’s pretty big. Lol Worth the visit no matter how far you live.

Very nice family park. It has a huge regular play area for all ages and sizes, a splash pad, a skateboard and skating park, fields for sports, a track around the whole park with multiple workout areas in between at stops, grilling locations with little cabanas..just an overall great place to be with the kids and family!

This was the best park I've ever been to in Florida. I can't believe how nice it is.... it's awesome the top of the line. Next time I'll have my sister from Mackirs Munchies bring her food truck out there and that will set It off.

Great park! It has padded turf across the entire playground, including themed play areas There are fun bridges and challenging obstacles. Add in bathrooms and tons of shade and this is a top notch park.

Absolutely 💯 love this park! It is huge, shaded, has plenty of fun things to play on and is toddler friendly. It also has two splash pads. One for bigger kids and one for toddlers. My kids love it! It also has a skate park. Everything all in one. Nice bathrooms and water/bottle fountain. Can't say enough about this place. 💜💜💜

Amazing, fun , and really big. Sunshine park/south beach park and skatepark has something for everyone. Soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball pits, long beautiful walking track with gym equipment along the track at various locations going around it. A concrete skatepark with several ramp areas, a bowl, a snake, rails, and more. A phenomenal and huge playground with all kinds of awesome equipment and Fort like jungle gyms to play and explore in . Great place to play hide and seek or tag ! It also has clean bathrooms, and a little splash pad area to help stay cool on those hot days.

The park has room for improvements (3 stars) but the people that make up the community, the people I am fortunate enough to call neighbors, they get 5 stars! As far as the park goes there is a play area for little kids and bigger kids, there is a skate park, a fenced in dog park, basketball court and tennis court and a covered picnic area. They have an old rundown baseball diamond with lots of pokey weeds but it makes for a great open space for flying a kite or launching a rocket. There is no flushing toilets though. Only a porta potty. The installation of a bathroom and some weed control/landscaping could do this park a world of good. Maybe a few shade trees planted close to the benches and kids play area too. A track around the boarder wouldn't hurt either. The park has room for improvements but the people that fill the park are priceless. You will always be greeted by friendly faces.

Gorgeous park and playground! Has absolutely everything a kid could want in a park. The only thing that stunk was most of the bathrooms were pretty gross and you could see pee on the floor and smell it as soon as you open the door.

I love this park! The playground structures are really cool and it's a huge place. The bathrooms are close, not the cleanest but to be expected at a park this big. The skate park is huge too. There is something for all ages. I definitely recommend checking it out!

One of the coolest parks I've ever taken my kids to. Playground was super nice with a wide range of equipment. Loved the splash pad and attached skate park. Lastly there was soccer fields with some serious matches being played.

I love this park so much, I come here to walk my dog, and skate with my boyfriend. When we brought my boyfriend kid & his cousin they had a blast at the water park and so did I! Everyone should let loose and run in the water with their kids more. Mentally refreshing. i promise. Also they have a little free book box! Consider taking and or leaving some!

Awesome Park! So many things for the kids to play on. Also super clean and has bathroom facilities.

  • 5/5 Vanessa C. 1 year ago on Google
So many things to do, climb, spin, swing, ride, splash and run! Area for toddlers and area for 5-12 yr olds. Slides, swings, merry go round, climbing spider web, and area to get wet at the splash area. The ground at the park is Astro turf so it can get hot. Wear shoes that don’t come off easily for the kids. There is a skate park next door too. The place is packed in the summer. Better to go at the off times (once school starts or later in the evening). Park closes at 7pm or sundown. A lot of gazebos to picnic and eat. Soccer field and area to run!

This park is so cool! They have everything a small kid or a big kid could want to play on. Very clean and well lit too. They have divided sections so the little ones can play without the big ones running over them and they have a nice skate park. A walking track and a beautiful picnic area

Excellent, well-kept park! I have been at South Beach park for years now, and it is so nice with the new features/renovations. The field is a turf material which is very high-quality. There are also basketball, pickle ball courts and beach volleyball. The skate park is also quite nice if you are into that. The playground is very large and is also newly renovated. The place is very active and is the perfect size in my opinion. All in all, one of the best parks in all of metro Jacksonville.

Great park & playground! Completely fenced in with a small section for your little kids. Astroturf with great shade and enough benches around.

  • 5/5 Kathleen R. 10 months ago on Google
Amazing job by the city of Jacksonville Beach investing some money into making the park usable by many different groups. The open space is no longer a sand pit surrounded by a few blades of grass. There are always people using the turf field. The skate park is never empty. Great use of area rather than a pond. The added pickle ball courts have been a great addition. Finally the renovated park has lots of new options.

If you are looking for a total kids friendly and all activities for the family this is the place for it, just recently remodeled to make it a must visit and come back spot for all ages

  • 5/5 Kevin Y. 6 months ago on Google
Always plenty of kids to play with. Sometimes hard to find parking on the weekend. I really like the AstroTurf and not worrying about LO running around without shoes. Only concern is how easy it is to lose sight of your kid due to size but I wouldn't make it smaller.

It offers 2 splash pads separated by age, as well as 2 separate playgrounds. A huge skate park and tons of picnic tables with bbq grills. It was busy, lots of people.

We love this little park. The county could do a better job with the cracks on the tennis and basketball courts but all in all it’s a great park. The park has a baseball field, dog run, small skatepark with ramps, basketball and tennis court, lights, kids swing set and play area.
