Bird Island Park is always 'Turtle Island' to my family because of the many species of turtles that call the park home. They are spiny softshells, yellow bellies, red eared sliders, and mud turtles. As you walk around the lake, the turtles are easily visible. There's a paved/wood walking path, turtles shaped maze, and a small, shaded playground all right behind the Ponte Vedra Library. The parking lot is shared, but I've never had an issue finding parking.

What a gem of a place! We stopped in for a driving break and took a walk. The turtle maze is super cool. There is a very nice looking boardwalk currently under construction. From a birding standpoint there wasn't too much activity. We did see a few ibis and a couple of ducks. If you are traveling on A1A, this is a great spot for a driving break!

This was a lovely little park. Very peaceful and a lot of birds to see. Not to long of a walk so should be good for most people! Highly recommend!

Small park behind the library in Ponte Vedra Beach. Good for a walk around the park or seeing some birds or turtles. The parking lot is directly behind the library in front of the park entrance. Really taking my time, I walked around the park twice, which includes going around the small lake, in under a half hour. The island has nesting birds and when I went there were young birds not ready to leave the nest visible from the deck along the edge of the water.

Amazing spot for afternoon walks and frequent bird spotting! The library has a small parking lot in the back thst gives you immediate access to a wonderful wooden walkway surrounding a small pond. In the center is foliage that houses a number of birds, hence the name. I encourage you to focus on the walkway before heading to the rest of the trail which involves a small amphitheater and maze!

A peaceful beautiful diamond tucked into an unexpected area in Ponte Vedra. Peaceful, serene location filled with a wide array of active wildlife, otters, egrets, blue Herons, turtles, jumping fish, and many more. A place created from generosity of others♥️

Very cute park behind the public library. We enjoyed walking the boardwalk and hedge maze, seeing at least a dozen + turtles and the kids park.

Parking is behind the library. Walking trails around a lake, gazebo, boardwalk, statuary, child's playground, benches, hedge maze, small amphitheater, friendly ducks, and other birds. There are no restrooms when the library is closed.

Small and under construction but still very peaceful and an amazing doggy maze for your doggy to venture and explore. Great for picnics Can’t wait for them to finish and enjoy the docks.

This place is so cute and well done! I love how it's almost hidden behind the library. The maze was not just fun for my daughter but I enjoyed racing through it with her. Beautiful views of the water with the turtles watching us from below. So pretty an peaceful. Loved this park!

Beautiful walking trail around a body of water. It's easy for children or people with limited mobility as it is on a boardwalk. There are pavilions with shade that are great for a rest to take in the view. There are some artistic sculptures in the area which would be good for some photos. Informative signs give information about the environment and nature.

This is a nice quiet place on the grounds of a public library. It is a peaceful, beautiful place to take a walk or sit on one of the benches and watch the birds. I enjoyed it.

Wonderful park for a stroll on a sunny day! Nice playground for the little ones, a cute little theater to have an impromptu play, and lots of wildlife to see!

My kids had fun walking around the lake looking at the ducks and turtles. The playground area is small and geared more toward older kids but it still kept mine entertained for half an hour. The maze part is also cool. It's also right by the fire station so my kids were able to hear the alarm and see the firefighters jump in the truck and take off, so that was fun for them as well.

It is a nice place to stroll around and take you kids as they can witness large number of turtles and small fishes. There are trees all around and a small island in the pond, a perfect environment to locate birds. The garden area could have flowers instead of just the bushy shrub. The decks and wooden boardwalk is good way to enjoy the Floridan summer evenings.
