So I needed takeout on New Years Eve and thought about pizza. Poppy’s Italiano popped up in my search and how I’ve never discovered this little slice of heaven is incomprehensible! Brian answered my call for takeout since I wanted to be sure they weren’t closing a tad early. He was so warm and friendly, assured me that even though they were closing in 20 minutes, it was no trouble at all to place my takeout order. I arrived about 25 minutes later and was greeted by a lovely young lady at the front. Brian realized who I was and brought my food very promptly with a smile and banter. I anticipated good food and upon the first bite to the last, my tastebuds were thanking me for such delectable cuisine! If their takeout is this incredible, I can only imagine how much better the experience of dining at their restaurant. Poppy’s Italiano is definitely going to be a place I will revisit often because of the top notch service and Italian delish dishes!

Being from upstate New York very picky about Italian food. Seems like everything in the south has no taste. I was recommended to try Poppy’s out.. from the owner or manager when you first walk in, also the servers are fantastic. I did not go for any other special. I decided just to try the chicken Parmesan. My wife had the lasagna. Also we had a shrimp appetizer. absolutely amazing. They serve you hot, fresh, buttered, garlic bread that they have flown in from New York between the side salad and the bread that was a meal for me the quantity of food that they give you on the chicken Parmesan there’s enough to feed 2 to 3 people. They do not have liquor just beer and wine but the food makes up for that. And just this is just my opinion. Hope it helps you.

Great, fresh food and friendly service! Make a reservation to be seated quicker! Just wish there was a bar area to order drinks while you wait! Otherwise a wonderful Italian option!

This was our first time here, vacationing from Chicago. Food was outstanding and Kelly was our awesome waitress. She was phenomenal!!! Best food and experiennce of our trip. If ever back in thus area, Poppy's would be our first pick. So happy to have dined here!!!

Brian was terrific, very attentive, great sense of humor and made our meal very enjoyable. The food was amazing too! Had the Grouper Scampi special and flavor was incredible. Highly recommend this delicious family owned restaurant!!

Got to this restaurant by a recommendation from the Ponte Verde Inn front desk. It did not disappoint. Our dishes were excellent. The wait staff was on their game and took care of us.

I had the eggplant parmesan and it was really good 👍 everything was excellent and the staff was super friendly.

We’ve come here three times in the past eight years because we keep expecting it to be good judging from all the glowing recommendations and reviews! But every single time Poppy’s has disappointed. It’s not a disaster, but it’s not great. It’s fine. Atmosphere is a little weird and gives the vibe of a time gone by. Maybe this place is a hit because PV is so devoid of any good Italian place (sans Andiamo).

I can’t wait to come back to Poppy’s! My husband and I stopped in for lunch and left more than pleased by our experience. Our waiter Austin had amazing customer service skills and professionalism. The pasta dishes we enjoyed were fresh and flavorful! The atmosphere was relaxing.

I love this place, it became one of my favorite restaurant, I love their food especially my favorite calamari, eggplant parmigiana and tiramisu. The place is not big but has good ambiance. Can’t wait to go back again 😊👍

Poppys Italiano is one of our favorite Italian Restaurants. All of their meals are served with garlic bread along with a choice of soup or salad, (their choice of soup today were Homemade Mushroom or Pasta Fagioli). The garlic bread here is delicious, it's served hot and crispy and is covered with quality olive oil and fresh garlic. Their salads are pretty basic but their homemade dressings are outstanding. I ordered Blue Cheese Dressing and it was served cold and tangy and full of large chunks of crumbly Blue Cheese. We ordered Sausage & Peppers as well as their Pasta Combo, (lasagna, cannelloni, meat stuffed ravioli and baked ziti in marinara sauce baked under a blanket of cheese). Poppy's marinara sauce is one of my favorites...it's a little sweet, (not too much), and is always bright and fresh. Their Sausage & Peppers is one of the best around... their sausage has a nice bite to it which works extremely well with the sweetness of the freshly cooked onions and peppers. Everything was delicious and the portions were huge, (prepare to have leftovers for another meal or two). We always have amazing meals here and make a point to stop when in the area. Highly recommended!

Came with a party of 8 vacationers for a late dinner. Seated quickly. The staff was very friendly. Service was prompt. Food was delicious. Fresh salads with house made dressing and garlic bread - all delicious. Everyone enjoyed their entree - but my Sausage and peppers with marinara sauce over linguine was the favorite. Highly recommend.

Always great Italian food At Poppy’s. I grew up visiting my Italian family in S. Philly and having home made from scratch Italian food so I am very picky where I eat Italian out. I always come back to Poppy’s as the real deal Italian cuisine and love the variety of choices. Staff is very friendly and responsive. Love this place
