Best cat in the city, highly recommend. I didn't even know it was famous until I looked back at the spot and saw this Google maps listing. Definitely worth checking out, pretty friendly.

In Belas Artes, Lisboa's heart, A cat of grace, a work of art. Black and white, a fur symphony, Friendly paws, a sweet melody. Amidst cobblestone streets he roams, Whiskers twitching, in artistic zones. His presence, a calming stroke, In Lisbon's embrace, a gentle cloak.

My girlfriend and I can also confirm that this beautiful cat with its meditative charisma really exists. When we visited Lisbon last week, we stopped by here more often to pet her 🤗 A place of peace and relaxation in the middle of the big city. 🙏🏼🍀 May you have a long and happy cat life ahead of you and make many people happy ❤️

After having spent almost a week in Portugal (in Porto and Lisbon) my partner and I were missing our cat, and having seen zero cats on this trip, we were excited at the potential of seeing a cat less than a mile from where we were staying in Lisbon. We visited the gato on a rainy day, but the kitty was nowhere to be found. But then we came back the next day, when the rain had stopped, and there the cat was, just sitting on a warm grate next to its house. The gato proceeded to walk up to us, allowed us to pet it, and it even followed us to a nearby bench, where it sat under us on the bench for an extended period of time so we could take the brunt of the drizzle while the gato stayed dry. We came back a few hours later and the cat was nowhere to be seen, but then it appeared suddenly and again approached us for some brief scratches and rubbins’. This was by far one of my favorite moments of this entire trip (and we did a Douro Valley tour, a Lisbon food tour, and spent a day in Sintra and Cascais). If you’re a tourist in Lisbon and you’re homesick for your cat, or just want to see a cat while in Lisbon, this is a must see. Skip the Santa Justa lift and check out this gato instead. Unclear if the gato prefers powdered sugar on his pasteis de natas.

Exactly as advertised. Very good boy. Edit: we went to see him 4 nights in a row as it was on our way back. He was there and ready for attention every time 😌

Lisbon's cobbled streets, kissed by the sun, Echo with footsteps, where day is begun. But a silent hunter, sleek as the night, Pads unseen, a shadow, a whisper of might. Emerald eyes gleam, sharp and profound, Scanning the alleys where secrets abound. Whiskers twitching, a nose to the breeze, Unraveling stories on wind-carried pleas. Black fur shimmers, a coat of midnight, Muscles ripple with power, a panther in flight. Independent spirit, a king in its stride, This black feline enigma, Lisbon's dark pride. ❤️ He was there when we visited, resting sweetly in his little home.

Gatinha ricardo is a national treasure, she kept me company many times. The emotional support it provides to fine arts students is much greater than any institution could ever provide✨️

This cat truly gave me a life changing experience, if you come here stressed, this cat is going to eliminate any worries that you possibly have. And today, when I visited him, he was on bun mode 10/10. Very welcoming, love it, 100% recommend

After a hearty meal take a stroll to see Lisbon's most famous attraction. No wait to see the exhibit and was exactly where placed. Shame about the weather

I love this cat, he is the best part of being a student at the Faculty of Fine Arts. Every time I pass, especially before a test or presentation, I celebrate it and I haven't failed a year yet. Sometimes I have to wait a minute for another student to pet him first but he is always ready to provide motivation. He should be an official teacher, since his position in the educational institution is of the utmost importance. If it were possible, I would give infinite stars.

Super friendly cat! If you're in Lisbon and are very stressed with your trip, take your therapy session with this cat.
