👍👍 The museum is small but interesting. The exposition includes religious paintings with their history, for instance, the cases of paintings hidden under another ones. Also there are old coal drawings of ships on the walls, so the whole wall appear to be a showpiece. The museum staff is very friendly. People often mention museum,

A small museum in the central of Sesimbra. On the ground floor there's icons from different centuries. On the lower floor excavations are still taking place but you can see few of the items they have found so far. Also there's the history of the building when it was a hospital in the 15th century. Entrance is free and no photos are allowed on the ground floor but you are allowed to take photos on the lower ground

Small but very nice museum with a friendly staff. There are impressive coal paintings in the basement. You may see ancient ceramics and religious paintings.

We really enjoyed the visit. The upper floor is a small art museum with an important collection of sacred art - paintings and statues by local masters. Really beautiful! The ground floor is an old hospital where you are immersed in the atmosphere of the 16th-18th centuries. The museum is an excellent addition to a relaxing beach holiday. 100% worth a visit! Thank you very much!
