One of the large hospitals serving the Sintra and Cascais area with the other being Amadora. This one is more modern than the Amadora one but in theory the competence in treatments are supposed to be the same. I would say that waiting times here are likely to be reduced compared to Amadora but it all depends on the situation. Here the parking facilities are better. There is an emergency and an outpatients section as well as pediatrician department.

Well, it's a hospital and it's not good to be there. However, when I needed to go, I was "treated well", some doctors and nurses were educated, others not so much, but I came out alive. The place itself is huge and well located in Cascais. Compared to the “Cascais health center” this place is 100% better and with more civilized and humane employees.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. What an absolute rude staff and the way of working is horrible. In a health center you can expect the staff to be educated to speak English. They where absolutely rude to me and I have been there for over 6 hours doing test that where not necessary. Did not see a doctor, your just a number. Next time I would make the drive to Lisbon again, much better hospitals.

I gave birth at this hospital and thought the team, facilities and support was absolutely fantastic. I really did feel very cared for and thought everyone so professional, knowledgeable and helpful. My experience here was excellent and I’m truly grateful to the nurses and doctors. Not an easy job, so demanding and intense but everyone was super organised and so friendly in general.

(Translated by Google) The urgencies are a shame. It is classified at European level as the best in the country, with prizes won etc. The reality is quite different. Supposedly there are orthopedic emergencies and conditions for that, but the triage service does not work, maybe training was not a bad idea and the overbearing attitude of doctors, makes the emergency service not up to what was supposed to be a managed hospital. by humans to humans. Perhaps COVID now serves as an excuse for bad medical practice and dispatching it (take a benuron that will pass)! Sincerely. You cannot judge the whole by the part it is true, so in that case make sure that that part represents well the principles by which the whole is governed. It is unacceptable for someone to enter an emergency after having managed to drive, God knows how, with acute pain, which restricts movement and shortness of breath, wait 4 hours and not even a simple X-ray is done! Shame Srs, shame. A realidade é bem diferente. I believe there is an important element that could be improved on through proper training....being interned is a humiliating experience by itself...empathy and psychology are present in only a few doctors and nurses. Sometimes a kind word can do miracles.

Mid kid broke a toe banging into a chair, we came to emergency room 9 pm, were instructed where to go and what to do. All staff (reception, nurses, doctors, security) was friendly, professional and helpful. We came out after 90 minutes with no more than 15 min waiting between steps (triage, first doctor, x-ray, surgeon). And the pediatric department was full of kids in need!

I gave birth to both my kids in this hospital. First one in early 2015 and the latest in late 2021. First one was ok but with some flaws (had no epidural) and the team was just ok and a bit old school. The latest one was amazing! Everyone was very gentle and caring. The team that helped me give birth to my son was amazing. It's the people that work here that make this an amazing hospital! I hope every woman has a chance to give birth with the same experience I had.

The staff here is incredible and very accomodating. Hospitality never made sense to me until now! Everyone helped us with our first baby and gave us so much advice and making sure that we are comfortable and to prepare for everything we will be going through. Our first birth went smoothly because of everyone who helped us in this hospital! if i could give more stars, i would!!! Thank you all so much

(Translated by Google) Good Morning, In order not to be all negative in the Cascais Hospital part, here I leave my comment. On 08/18 I was in bed for one in the morning the waters broke, play to prepare to call me health 24 take the eldest son to his mother-in-law, the firefighters come and there we go, we checked in at 2 am, we went to see the echo and dilation is confirmed by a broken bag but with still liquid MT, we were immediately hospitalized and the father was in the car and then he climbed up. I did CTG, I did the covid test and I went to the delivery room at 3, they gave me the gown and I took a shower at 4 and this was taking the epidural, every two hours they went there and I was walking the dilation but slowly , they gave me oxidotocina and tramal, at 9 in the morning I was ready to be born and they called my father. He was born at 9:51 am, it was four hours of birth (from the oldest child it was 18 hours). I stayed in the delivery room until I had the result of the covid. I went up to the room and yesterday after lunch we were leaving to be discharged we stayed 2 and a half days there. From doctors to nurses and assistants, everything 5 stars and poor people can't do. So as I say and say again with covid and other complicated situations they make the best of them;) (Original) Bom dia, Para não ser tudo negativo na parte do Hospital de Cascais aqui deixo o meu comentário.

So being a hospital and after reading the reviews we expected to wait for a while or even a few hours for someone to check my foot (which we suspected was broken). However we found the staff lovely and the whole process was pretty quick. I was seen by a general doctor, had x-rays done, had another doctors consultancy where they confirmed yes I had a broken foot, had a cast applied and finally given a pain managing injection - all in the space of 1.5hrs. I don’t think we waited more than 10mins for any part. This might be an exception, but I wanted to write a review just to shine a light on my experience.

My Feedback goes in particular to the Cardiology Service and here to Dr Gonçalo Proença - a humble but wise Physician that even in stressed times takes the time needed for his patients and does whatever he can for there wellbeing. As other hospitals too, there are orientated for profit and who got to know the Hospital when it opend and sees now what the profit orienteted mamagment made , sees some decline. Still most of the staff clinical & non clinical trys do to the best , question is how long the good staff is staying there, If there will not made some small adjustments. But Overall - untill now- glad that we have this unit in the Cascais area .

I had an awful experience at this hospital. Following the advice of the SNS I went to A&E at 6pm on a Monday afternoon and waited to be seen. I was told this is a 24 hour hospital. After about 7:30pm the number of doctors/nurses/staff decreased to the bare minimum. There were still about 40 of us waiting to be seen, and a new patient was only called about once every 30 minutes. This was an utter waste of time, and I do not understand how this can be considered a 24h hospital when the majority of it is shut before 8pm. I waited a total of 3 hours before leaving, as I saw that my number was still hours away from being called. I left very frustrated and disappointed and I will never return to this hospital.

Due to a cycling accident in Cascais, my brother was hospitalised here recently with a fractured femur/hip. We called 112 emergency services who were prompt and despite one of the ambulance crew being evidently new to the job, the care given was attentive and professional. Note this is a big public hospital funded by the government social health system The emergencies at the hospital were extremely busy and overcrowded, but the staff remained calm, effective, and helpful. The priority system is in place here, with urgent care being given to those patients requiring more serious attention. Thus, my brother waited over a day to be operated. Throughout there duration of his stay the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Despite it being busy, they are efficient, strict, structured and follow the right processes in order to look after patients. Staff are a mix of abrupt and short, giving you just enough information, and then others are more friendly and willing to go the extra mile. Facilities were clean and efficient. Visitors are permitted (strictly 1 per patient). Visiting hours are normally during 12h00-18h00. There's enough seating for additional visitors and you there's a cafetaria/coffee shop and various vending machines. Parking can be busy and expensive. My brother's operation went well, and he was discharged after 4 days and is on his way to recovery after receiving a full hip replacement. We are extremely grateful for the attention, professionalism, and aptitude of everyone while he was being cared.

Why do you allow only 1 parent to be in Paediatrica , I went on Saturday at midnight with my son and partner and I was not allowed in. I think this is a bad decision and makes no sense at all. Please tell me why, in the UK we do NOT do this as we know it is important for both parents to be there. What is the logic????? Very poor service, not impressed at all!!!

(Translated by Google) Yesterday was the last straw, my aunt, she was admitted on the 26th at 6 pm in the Cascais hospital, with abdominal pain, she was admitted to undergo exams, yesterday at around 2:30 pm she went down to the operating room from that hour we never spoke to her again, I’m from the south bank SEIXAL, on several occasions, I tried to contact the hospital, the waiting time on the cell phone passed 15 minutes, which my husband, my aunt, gave up at the hospital for around 5.30 pm, he went to the main lobby to get information about his wife's health, nobody told him anything, he got excited and tried to get in to talk to doctors or nurses to know something about his wife, he was barred the entry by the security guard, who called the guard (GNR) who was on duty, he told the guard what happened, the guard with his kindness, tried to talk to someone to give the information he was looking for, without success. This was already 7:55 pm, he asked for the complaints book that was denied him, he spoke again with the guard about it, the guard once again, very attentive was meeting the security guard and the employee who was at the service desk and questioned why the complaint book was not given, since it was a right, to which they replied that it was already 8 pm and that the counter would close, if he wants to complain he will have to go to the emergency room and ask for the complaint book there. Outraged, he left there and contacted me to tell me what had happened and that he would go home, without any news of his wife's health, I said they have nothing to leave, I asked him to wait for me to enter in contact with the hospital, and so I did, I called and after 15 minutes he answered the security, I asked for information about my aunt's health status, and he (security) said he would forward the call to the competent service, meanwhile through another phone, my wife called her uncle to say that they had already answered and that she was waiting for the call to be forwarded, but it turns out that it was 30 minutes after the call started, and nothing, the phone was giving music on hold , so I decided to go on the road, but I decided not to hang up the call I was waiting for, so my wife was told to call her uncle and say that we were going to see him at the hospital, so it was, I made a video since my way out until I got to the hospital, it took me 30 minutes to get there, and the call was always in progress waiting for contact from the hospital, I went to the emergency room and showed my phone with the call waiting at 1h10 minutes, I asked if the number The phone number on the screen of my cell phone was the one from the hospital, and the mr who answered said yes, I said this call is in progress, it is on hold. I called here at 1:10 am I spoke to a security guard who told me he was going to pass the call and so far nothing, the call is active. You were amazed at the situation, and said that you did not know where this call was forwarded to, I ok. So I told him what happened and that both my aunt's husband and I didn't get any information from the hospital about my aunt's health, which was operated on and it was almost 10 pm and we didn't know anything, Mr. gave him a pink bracelet, and said where he had to go, for recovery. So it was, my wife went there to recover and finally arrived at her aunt's feet, and thank God everything was fine. This is my revolt with the hospital first, and second with the security guard, who answered the phone and was forwarding my call so I could get a simple information about my aunt's health status, there was no need for my husband. my aunt had been waiting for so many hours and was stressed, she ended up giving up and leaving without any answer, and it was necessary for me to come from the south bank SEIXAL, have to spend on tolls, fuel and wear of my car, no need when a simple efficient service it would be the best solution. Conclusion I was with my cell phone with the call waiting more than 2 hours.

(Translated by Google) About the pediatric emergency at this hospital: It is unfortunate that medical care is carried out in an office environment, with doctors not even having their own table or reserved room, or screens to separate one patient from another. There is no chair for the accompanying parents to sit. The service takes time, doctors treat children as if they were mini adults, they have no empathy, they do not have a childlike approach and worse: they are not concerned with the child's well-being, they do not prescribe drugs to reduce suffering in states of viral infection (the palliative remedies!). The service is really bad. In addition, the computers lock up at the time of the consultation, we really need to stand, next to several sick children waiting for the thing to be resolved and listening to the doctor's rudeness because we can't touch the phone, this hospital is ridiculous.

(Translated by Google) Shame on this hospital! It was very serious what happened! On 5/01/2020 my parents took my grandmother (a woman over 70 years old, diabetic, with flu and high fevers, a urinary infection .. to the point of not having a coherent speech) to this hospital, they arrived there around 5 pm where they immediately put it on IV. At around 11 pm, my mother asked my grandmother for something to eat (as she is diabetic, she has to eat every 1 hour and that information was on the patient's form, as my mother made sure to pass this information on as soon as arrived at the hospital), with a lot of freight there, they brought a soup. In the middle of the night my already very upset questioned whether the doctor took too long to see my grandmother, as they were already there on time (and there were many more people, many of them already old, forgotten there many hours ago, as they were completely alone without companions and no one to speak for them). Of course, it was not long before my grandmother was called, and to our surprise it was to be discharged. The doctor was asked by my mother, already quite disgusted, why they only gave oxygen during all those hours and no antibiotics for the infection and fever. The doctor looked surprised and went to the computer to confirm and says: Ahh, you're right, I don't understand why you've been on oxygen all these hours. During the doctors' shift, which took place at 8 pm, they had simply forgotten about the antibiotics and my grandmother. Result: Without any need, my grandmother had to spend the rest of the night there, receiving antibiotics, without any conditions, on a stretcher, where my grandmother asked the assistant for a pillow to make her more comfortable and the former assistant takes one and shoots at mine. grandma and tell Tom there !! My parents came home to take some rest, as they said it would still be a few hours and they would stay there with my parents' cell phone number and then call when it was over (according to them around 9 am). Since we never received this call, my parents went there around 9:30 am / 10 am and asked for it, another surprise had already been discharged at 8 am (because they needed beds) and they didn't know about it. Of course, my parents, completely disgusted, went inside the hospital to look for her, as the hospital staff did not even deign to go looking. After some time searching and with the security men threatening to say that they would call the police if my parents didn't leave, they found my grandmother in the middle of a corridor completely weak, in a wheelchair and abandoned and only with a glass of tea in the stomach (remember that she is diabetic and has to eat every 1 hour). After being with her, they talk to the doctor, in which she apologizes immensely and gives the prescription with all the medication. Early in the afternoon and with my grandmother resting at home, they call my mother at the hospital to ask about my grandmother, as they did not know where she was and had her prescription to give. A SHAME! I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO RETURN THERE, IN A HOSPITAL WHERE PEOPLE ARE MALTRATED AND SIMPLY FORGOTTEN AND IGNORED!

I just left this hospital untreated for a very serious kidney infection. Right after i got in, the lady that first saw me was very undertrained (calling to ask questions mid session) and saying "that i couldn't prove vomiting all day unless I vomited in front of her" and I'm pretty sure she only wrote half of the things I told her. I haven't ate nothing all day, vomited throughout it and she didn't even saw my heartrate. Took my temperature and sent me to the waiting room. 1.30h waiting in very umconfortable chairs, in much pain, fever, will to vomit and feeling like I was going to faint, I am finally called by my doctor. Explained I already have been there less than a month ago with the same issue but when the infection was at its initiate state (as told by the other doctor). She saw my profile and proceed to explain that neither the other doctor neither her did the laboratory examination to know exactly what type of infection I have, just the test to see if I have an infection. Proceeded to tell me that she was going to give me a random ANTIBIOTIC and that I had to go to my local medic center to have this exam done to know what medication I need. A medic that gives me an antibiotic as a shot in the dark does not deserve to be a doctor. Antibiotics are very nocive to health and should only be given under very serious situations, I left the hospital immediately since I won't be given random medication for bacterias I don't own. Needless to say all of them were very arrogant and look at people like less of a person. Awful awful hospital, never again.

Hospital de cascais, it is necessary to adapt the staff to the demand, since it is a health service reference, but this is looking like Brazil, but there it is free and has more people to better inform the clients ... (Translated by Google) I would like to thank the entire team that accompanied me on the day of my birth 28/01/2021. To all the nurses and doctors who accompanied me during the 3 days I was hospitalized. In particular, the neonatology team. My daughter (Manuella) was born premature for 35 weeks, and I confess that I was terrified of knowing that she would stay there, and I couldn't help her. Until you meet the wonderful team that followed her entire trajectory for 10 days. Neo nurses are incredible, super careful people, and are available to answer all your questions at any time. They are all true angels, and it is clear that they love what they do, because they do everything with great pleasure and love. And also the entire medical team that accompanied her during those days, and that they did everything to make her 100% soon. The auxiliaries also accompany the entire process. Thanks for everything ! Manu and I will never forget all the care and dedication of the entire team. (Original) Queria agradecer a toda a equipe que me acompanhou no dia do meu parto 28/01/2021.

The hospital is generally quite adequate however the EMG Dr Rui in neurology is the reason for the loss of stars. First I was sad for myself when he just decided to only do a parcial test without reason (looked like a lack of interest) but when I considered all the people who have to deal with these kinds of Drs who care nothing for their fellow humans I am deeply saddened. In no country have I ever come across another Dr so cold, mecanical and genuinely disinterested. I would not recommend at all an EMG in Hospital Cascais. Dr Rui for me would recieve -2 stars but the rest of the staff is often lovely so I give an overall 2.
