Spent 3 nights in their highest category facility called Privilege Suite (duplex) with family. Just somewhat an ‘ok stay’ that’s all, nothing special to mention except the suite was spacious and it was in a duplex villa facing the lake. There are several issues that need immediate remedial measures. Staff are fairly (not all) friendly and courteous but a tad low in efficiency. Quality and quantity of food portions served do not match the so-called 4/5-star property in spite of the fact that everything is overpriced! (No issues though on pricing, if quality, taste and qty had been adequate confirming to a luxury hotel!). If I need to list the shortcomings, there are plenty. Service is pitiably very slow. I expected a much higher quality of experience in this otherwise vast property. Poor Upkeep of recreational facilities are another issue to be addressed to. One incident I got really annoyed with was, when I was told by the restaurant that they do not supply some simple snacks like nuts or chips. I was told bluntly that nothing of those sorts were available! Service book /menu says mini fridge is stacked with beverages and small snacks etc but it was just sitting empty! Property is vast but concrete tiles occupy a major landmass of the sprawling resort thus making whatever vegetation, trees and garden lesser dense. Tiles are protruding on pathway making walk a little scary at certain areas! Overall for a frequent traveller within India and outside, like me and family, it was not a very appealing experience worth the price we paid for (that too for a privilege suite!).

It’s one of the best properties considering backwater views in Alleppey. We stayed here for one night and was amazed with the property. We took lake view premium rooms for its views and we loved the views. Room are pretty old style and doesn’t worth the price but I think price is for the views and not room so overall a good property with average rooms. Food is good here considering my taste for North Indian food. Also their are ample activities for kids and adults.

Excellent Place to sit back and Relax. The Service Personnel are quite good. The Cuisine is also Good and we can enjoy with the entire family. Cultural program reflecting traditional dances of Kerala are also exceptional.

Lake Palace is a Five star luxury backwater resort located in Alleppey at the banks of Vembanadu Lake, adjacent to the venue of the legendary Nehru Trophy boat race. Lake Palace Resort represents a quaint tradition, blended with modernity. Its architecture is delightfully Keralite yet comfortably modern and rich in contemporary ethos. Each of its rooms is individually decorated with a dramatic blend of old-world charm and modern accessories. While the Lake View Cottages feature a cozy lounge with mini bar, refrigerator, television, king size bedroom, en-suite bathroom with hot & cold running water and 24 hours room service, the Water Villas offer the rare feeling of being afloat. Its facilities include king size bedrooms that are beautifully appointed rooms with wooden furniture, en-suite bathrooms and 24 hours room service. Every balcony at Lake View Cottage offers a unassailable view of the unruffled Vembanadu Lake where the traditional country boats & canoes cruise gently along. Property amenities Pool Room service Restaurant Free High Speed Internet (WiFi) Fitness Centre with Gym / Workout Room Free parking Spa Breakfast included Airport transportation Banquet Room Breakfast Available Business Centre with Internet Access Children Activities (Kid / Family Friendly) Concierge Conference Facilities Dry Cleaning Laundry Service Meeting rooms Multilingual Staff Outdoor pool Public Wifi Wheelchair Access Serene location, great hospitality! This is huge property which is maintained beautifully. The staff at this place deserve a special mention for their courteousness and responsiveness. The food was great. If you are looking to spend a great weekend just lazing around, this is the place. Memorable trip @ Lake Palace Absolute and fantastic place to stay. Huge area in which there are several cottages and beautifully maintained swimming pool!!! Evening cruise was superb. I was impressed with the reception area and the general design and upkeep of the resort. Food was great!!! Room features Air conditioning Minibar Refrigerator in room Accessible rooms Family Rooms Non-smoking rooms Smoking rooms available

This us quite possibly worst hotel i have ever stopped at in India. Not due to the rooms , food or location. But entirely to the service and operation of the hotel bar. We have already been here 4 days, to find out that they have sold out of kingfisher. On the first day the barman attempted to charge 1750 for 2 gins, despite the menu stating 200 each. I guess the barman trying to make his takings look better as he can't sell beer, either a con or a deception. After several conversations with the food and beverage manager, we are none the wiser, this guy is seriously hopeless. Tonight we find they have sold out of tonic water, another conversation , he just looks at you and shakes his head. Then he says the bar is closed for renovation, probably another poor excuse. A five star hotel with no bar or sold out of everything, nothing worthy of just one star. This place is best avoided ..

A one of a kind experience with all the in house activities available to keep you engrossed and make your stay amazing. The complementary cruise ride of the lake, complementary breakfast, complementary gym and complementary library just made my stay awesome. The chefs served lip smacking food and the lunch and dinner menus don't burn a hole in your pocket.

I stayed in hotel months back for 2 nights ,realized i never wrote review for the same. I would say that trip was most memorable stay in hotel . Check in was quick and also got free upgrade of the room which was best room i ever stayed with view of lake from room itself. Location of hotel itself is very excellent . Its almost covered by water on 3 sides. Swimming pool was well maintained and good. Breakfast spread is very good. Lunch /Dinner items are Just above average . Room service was quick and issues were addressed quickly too. The evening cruise which was provided as complimentary is also very good with nice locations in the way. Also there were some live cultural programs which witenessed which was good too If at all i go back to allepey i would definitely go back the same hotel and same room . Definitely visit the hotel you wont be disappointed .

These days a decent hotel room with budget has similar facilities. We went there expecting a different level of experience but it was just OK. Not worth all that money. It is strange how checking in was at 2 for us and we were expected to leave at 10am. The food was good.

    1. Room Discrepancy: We booked a Lake View Premium Room, specifically attracted by the mention of a bathtub. However, upon arrival, we discovered that the actual room did not align with the representations on the MakeMyTrip platform. The absence of the promised bathtub was particularly disappointing. 2. Cruise Miscommunication: We were pleased to be offered a complimentary cruise and opted for the 5-6 pm slot to enjoy the sunset. Regrettably, the receptionist informed us of a policy change resulting in only one timing for the cruise that day (4-5 pm). This information turned out to be inaccurate, as another group embarked on the 5-6 pm cruise upon our return. This miscommunication was a significant inconvenience. 3. Mosquito Issue After Sunset: Post-sunset, the hotel premises became challenging to navigate due to a notable increase in mosquito activity. This hindered our ability to explore and enjoy the facilities after dark. 4. Algae Odor: The presence of an artificial lake within the hotel premises, coupled with an adjacent natural lake, led to a continuous and unpleasant algae smell. This detracted from the overall experience of the surroundings. 5. Value for Money: Reflecting on our stay, we believe that the hotel did not justify the price paid. Additionally, its location on the outskirts posed challenges, prompting us to opt for an alternative accommodation in town on the second day, which proved to be a more satisfying investment.

Unmatched location. One side is surrounded by natural lake n other by artificial lake. Nice and big rooms. Good Photogenic property. Staff is polite. They provide one hour sunset cruise service. Enjoyed stay. Only negative point I can mention is food. It's not as per taste of North Indians.

We had a 3 night stay at this property and it was a wonderful experience. Right from the check-in till we checked out almost everything was remarkable though there were a few things that needs to be taken care off. As soon as we reached we had a tour of the property in a buggy, The premium Rooms were large with a veranda and a beautiful sit out overlooking the lake and we could spot hundreds of house boats. The staff was very courteous. The property was maintained very well, food was good although on the expensive side though the breakfast in the morning could have been better. The other thing that needs to be pointed out was that the room we stayed the power socket switch was n't functional although a service guy was sent immediately for repair he could not fix the issue as the whole panel was hanging. We drove from Bangalore and the Car parking was outside the gate. Although there was a watchman and the car was safe but I was hesitant to park the car and I feel there needs a dedicated car parking area. All in all we had a fabulous stay and I highly recommend this property.

No doubt for the location it's superb around lakes. However rooms are not designed well. For 1 ton AC the room has no doors however it has a hall attached which is disproportionate. Food is good. Service is okay. Need maintenance as for us AC were not working but they immediately changed our rooms.

My husband and I had a wonderful 3 night stay. The rooms were very comfortable, and the river view was gorgeous. We also enjoyed the amenities - we used the gym and pool everyday, and got a great massage at the spa. This was a delayed honeymoon for us and the staff was very helpful with all of our questions and requests. I highly recommend a night stay on the houseboat - this was the highlight of our trip. We will definitely come back with family and friends.

We - family of 4 stayed for one night. Room was very spacious and royal. facilities are very good including swimming pool, paddle boating, cruise tour for and hour , cycling, archery point, mini golf, gym (all in complementary) and restaurant. If you are going to stay without any site seeing-place is good. Staff is polite and cooperative. This property is managed by Sterling now. Cons- Away from main road. Need to have your own vehicle/car. You are dependent on their restaurant -no nearby options. Restaurant and Ayurvedic spa cost are very high. Need to provide dental kit, shaving kit.

Rooms were decent. Limited channels on TV. Excellent water sports like jet skis and kayaks. Very basic entertainment otherwise. Quiet a sophisticated spa but was booked out so didn't try. Food service, both room and restaurant, were slow. Approach road is a horror but note that it is better added accessed from the water. Every entertainment, even if a bit interesting, is chargeable so factor in your budget.

Services are not good. Firstly, food tastes not good. Secondly, food services not good. During my trip in buffet some of the items are consumed and the vessels are empty but the representative not ready to fill the same and we need to ask again and again for refilling. Thirdly, they all are trained only for money earning motivated not for service. Also, for room service....even for water they are taking more than one hour. Additionally, during my trip my TV remote was not functioning, I have informed the same thing about housekeeping and I have waited for 1 1/2 hours but no one attended the fault. After that I called again then only they attended the fault after 10 min.... The receptionist attitude is not good, I have shared my feedback with him but he is not ready to lessen and he takes it negatively and argues with me unnecessarily and he said that we don't have any feedback facilities share your feedback through online....

Awesome location. It is located in the middle of back water. They have a lot of activities like speed boat, jet ski and complimentary boating between 5 to 6 pm. The food was ok ok in taste. However, the restaurant manager had a lot of attitude and zero knowledge on how to handle client.

The location is very amazing and also the staff is very approachable and polite. Worth enjoying your stay in Alleppey. However food quality was horrible for in room dining. Margherita and chicken starter were horrible and tasteless. Rooms need a bit of better maintenance. Rest all is good.

Luxurious and suitable if you are looking to spend a day or two here.. Food options and taste are a little above average but certainly disappointing if you have bigger expectations.. Not much of activities for kids. It just exists for name sake and not so exciting.. Complimentary 1hr lake tour is a good gesture.. Pool is fun but lately my kid, wife and myself developed rashes, next day Staffs were courteous but the room service was not satisfactory!!!

Very beautiful and elegant property in south India. The staff was very polite and was always helpful. The pool is astonishingly clean even after the rainy weather. Food is good. There were way too many cob webs and I think the pest control is not up to the mark.

I stayed at Sterling Lake Palace for two nights with my family and honestly, I was very dissatisfied with the service, rooms, and food. The resort claims to be a luxury backwater resort, but it failed to meet my expectations in every aspect. The service was below average, as the staff were not attentive, friendly, or helpful. They took a long time to respond to our requests and sometimes ignored them completely. They did not provide us with any information about the resort facilities, the activities, or the nearby attractions. The rooms were very bad, as they were dirty, damp, and poorly maintained. The bedding was stained and the furniture was very old and dusty, and the bathroom was leaking and Cigarette smell was there. The TV had only a few channels. The food was bad with less choices, and they served bland, oily, and repetitive dishes. The breakfast spread was limited and boring, and dinner menu had no variety or creativity. The quality of the food was also poor, as some of it was stale, cold, or undercooked. The restaurant staffs were slow, and they did not accommodate our dietary preferences or allergies. Overall, I would not recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Alappuzha. It is overpriced, overrated, and underwhelming. I hope they improve their standards and services in the future. Review rating: 1 out of 5 stars

The location and view from the rooms are amazing. The rooms (lake view suite) as such were a bit dark and old style . Though a bath tub was available, it did not work. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the food was really good both in quality and quantity.

Ambience is really good and it's built in a beautiful location. Resort and buildings are old now and need renovation. Plenty of space available, if the management properly utilize this with multiple activities, this would be one of the top 5 Resort in Kerala. Service needs to be improved.

Excellent location. Special mention about buggy driver Vinod who was extremely courteous, helpful and friendly. Pedal boat and swimming pool can be improved. But the location is a lot better than spending time on a houseboat. The classical programs can be at least an hour long. Sunset cruise is a lovely complimentary activity.

  • 2/5 Rajsekhar D. 6 months ago on Google
“Not at all worth the price ” The house boat was very good and excellent service from staff and food was delicious but definitely does not justify the price, especially with many other boats with similar service at less than half the price. Further, actual time in waters is only 4 hours, rest of the time, it is docked at resort which totally defeats the purpose of house boat. Very disappointed with back waters as hardly any greenery and the waters are clogged with many boats

Had stayed at Sterling Lake Palace for 1 day in Oct 23. In general the location of the resort is excellent. The facilities available are good. The overall lighting in the room and the outdoor lighting needs to be improved. The staff are courteous. Feel that the rooms need to be revamped as they seem quite old.

Very good resort, but problematic location to access by car. A long stretch of patchy road from the maid road till the hotel.

The highlight of this resort is its close proximity to the beautiful lake. There is also a artificial lake in the middle of the resort. There are cottages available beside both the artificial lake and the real lake. The place is so serene and peaceful. You can have a wonderful stay with your family or friends. However, the breakfast buffet was not up to the mark. Everything else is great with the stay on this resort.

Extremely comfortable and enjoyable stay...inhouse facilities for all kinds of entertainment and activities like cycling, games boating etc ... The resort has a well managed restaurant which caters to every unique need of the guests. Admirable. And a very pleasant ant cooperative staff... If anything adverse , the food costs are sky-high and frankly exorbitant. The approach road needs a really serious makeover...but all in all as very nice experience.

Ambience is good. Facilities and service are also good. I would have given 5 easily But heavily over priced. When it comes to Food price, they can beat all other resorts without any trouble. One normal size Kerala paratha costs Rs.74/-. Rest of the prices you can imagine. There was not enough drinking water at rooms and we had to ask 3-4 times for that. Behaviour of the staff is really sweet.

Property location is good but it seriously needs some maintenance. Food is super expensive and staffs are very courteous. Rooms are spacious but the room balcony we stayed have always bird droppings on the floor. Liked this place a lot. Parents went along, Jain food is available. Have done cycling, swimming, Gym, and boat ride. Resort is amazing, food was delicious. 1) I didn't liked the check-in timings as it is 2 pm to 11 pm ( we reached by 11 and got the room too without any problem. Staff was good too) still check in should be available by 12. If timing is 2 pm, suggest you to go after having lunch from outside of not in package as nothing is nearby 2) 4:30 they gave tea.. only tea ok no snacks 😡 If u will ask me, I will give them 110 out of 100. I have not faced any problem with the resort still mentioned what I didn't liked. Very beautiful property.

Beautiful place .surrounded by the lake .1 hr complimentary Sunset cruise arranged was good.nice facilities pool ,padel boating inside resort.overall a place not to miss. Its really beautiful. Con: very bad appraoch road to resort.so once you are in resort travelling to town is cubersome due to the road.so u are stuck with resort dinning only which is expensive and not that delicious .( zomato works with a extra tip to rider for bad road 🙂) Tips For check in you can use their boat service to avoid bad road.Go to lake palace office at ksrtc bus stop a boat will be arranged .. Lake view premium has nice view of lake and pool..

Resort is good but u have to know gymnastics bcoz road is not their only big dumps. Sedan cars and xuv cars moves like boat in that way 1.5 km takes 45 minutes to pass if ur healthy u can or walking is good than car ride walk for 1.5 km then get in car and go the parking is outside of the resort. Very bad complimentry provided by the resort guests r not happy. Take care of ur health. Best to get drop at boat jetty and ask them to pickup by boat car drive will make ur day tired..

Good option for a lake side star rated accomodation. Electric buggies available to take you around. Boat rides available and a jetty within the boundaries make it easier.. Facilities are neat clean and elegant... Taste of food is not meeting my expectations... Can have a more good tasty dish to meet the customer expectations. In short, a beautiful place in the backwater boundary, for those who admire nature and water

we have had a very good experience in this beautiful property. your restaurant is excellent with a reasonably good complimentary breakfast. the beautiful and peaceful walkways are really a plus point to the resort. the swimming pool in the centre of the lake to be worth mentioned. on the other hand the room service has to be improved. your information centre has got no clue about the activities going on in the resort! we do appreciate the positive and helpful attitude of the staff all around. in total it was a very nice stay in this marvelous atmosphere and wish to come back again!

We recently stayed at resort ⛵ for a quick family getaway. Despite the short stay, we were impressed by the resort's beautiful location, lake view and well-maintained facilities. The room was spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing environment for our overnight stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring that our needs were met promptly. Although we only had one night, our experience left us eager to return for a longer stay in the future. Highly recommend for a peaceful retreat with family.
