I might be among the rare French tourists who visited this museum. The entrance is free, it is clean and there are very interesting ship models and documents to see. Everything is in Norwegian but you can appreciate the museum even if you don't speak it. We had a guided tour on the boat outside and it was kind to make it in English specially for us.

The biggest collection of maritime artifacts I’ve ever seen. From the beginning of the Norwegian navy to the present. Models and replicas of every ship along with artifacts from the ship. Interesting and educational. There is even a kids room for children to enjoy while parents meander at the museum. Entrance is just $10 and your questions will be answered for as long as you care to learn

A nice walk trough Norway's naval history up to today. The submarine Utstein and a gunboat are open for visitors to explore and the frigate Narvik retired from service in 2007 open for visitors this summer.

A museum worth visiting. a lot of exhibits, a large area. before visiting, it is worth looking for information on what is open today. In the season there should be no problem but off-season it happens that the museum is closed.

Great museum with plenty of history. Also there is an opportunity to board the submarine and frigate they have docked. Lots of history learnt.

Lots of models and artefacts. 2 hours if you walk slowly but don't really stop to read everything, longer if you do

The museum has a lot of unique collection of exhibits some are unique like the real submarine. One of the old Norwegian naval museum estbd since 1853. The museum is free to visit. Maintained well. Its one of the must see attractions near Horten maritime area.

I enjoy the Navy museum, submarine, beach walk, church by the entrance, cafe and free parking and toilet. Note: Parents with children that skate or scooter, free skate park within 200 metres of the museum which they will enjoy. Also electric scooter hire, buses too.

Wonderful Navy Museum with an impressive collection of ships, models, weapons, uniforms and even a real gunship and a submarine you can go inside.

A pleasant place for Sunday afternoon. Educational and "time traveling" experience.

What a find! Stumbled across this place when in Oslo once. Loved it. Had an impromptu guided tour of a sub by an ex-sailor.
