This experience sucked, the service was horrific... I genuinely believe our food wouldn't have come if I didn't hassle our waitress for it. When our food did come after about 45 minutes, it was a mixture of cold spring rolls, curry that didn't make up for the wait and pipping hot soup - so hot I barely tasted the rest of my meal... The only part of the meal I enjoyed, was bantering with the other complaining tables on how shocking the service was. P.S. The view was really nice, so pre-order a bottle of water, admire for a few minutes and leave.

Great food and very friendly staff. Restaurant is situated in town by the little lake off the main road. The venue is very peaceful and friendly. Prices are very reasonable and food is great quality. I would recommend this venue for sunday lunch.

Nice and cozy space with a beautiful view. However the service is hooorible! It's my second time here and it's worse than the first time. I'm still sitting with a menu they gave me 24 minutes ago, no one's come to take my order. I decided to just pay for my drink and leave, because wow.

Delightful and cosy! My friend (from PE) and I (from EL) met at the Penny Farthing Bistro in Port Alfred for breakfast. It was a rainy day, and the Bistro was welcoming, the coffee excellent and the food delicious! It was the perfect spot for a reunion 👍

What a lovely cosy Restaurant for any occasion. Breakfast lunch light meals. Clean and very well presented. Calm atmosphere. Had such a relaxed time there. Looking out over duckpond. In the heart of Port Alfred's CBD but still hidden away from all the cars and ppl. Friendly staff and really good food at affordable prices. Clean restrooms. Everything just perfect. Will definitely visit again soon. Thanks for great service!!

We really had a great experience - everything was top! (Esp. the chicken schnitzel). We watched large fish feeding at the waters edge with my small daughter - such a beautiful setting. Just some double ply in the ladies would be perfect lol 😉

The location and view is amazing outside. I ordered the Smoked Trout "open sandwich" and was pleasantly surprised by the flavours. The lemon worked well with the overall flavour of the trout, not to mention a tasty hit of what I think was horse radish. The price however was not quite worth what I got and left me still hungry for the next meal. I'd like to see more options for fish. Certainly lots of options for meat eaters though.

The bistro is often quite but with good vibe for meet ups, there's private slots area, and their outdoor view is beautiful Lakeview.

Lovely setting, fantastic service, however the food was rather over salted. I ordered the mussel soup which was so salty I couldn’t eat it. Otherwise good. Really enjoyed the strawberry milkshake

It is positioned overlooking a large pond nice tranquil setting. I had the Chicken Tagliteli whilst OK it was though flood with a cheese sauce which could have had a little more body to it and possibly slightly less sauce. My wife had the chicken salad which she said was lovely. They also sell home made jams and other items, we bought the Strawberry and found it delicious. Not a bad experience for a casual midweek lunch.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for the prize you gave at the Port Alfreds Got Talent show. We had a lovely meal there and a lovely afternoon. Very helpful staff xx

Such bad service on both of the occassions that I ate there with friends and family. Incorrect orders brought to us on both occassions 25 June and 9 July and a general feeling of a lack of training amongst the staff. I wasn't going to make a bad online review, but after the manager gave me an email address that is not valid, I thought this only fair. Food was good and the view of the duck pond was amazing.

The Boys @ Penny Farthing is amazing! I love the location and atmosphere. The menu is so diverse and they really cater to any guest with any type of diet- my favourite is the Chinese menu! Keep it up :D I would highly recommend

Butter chicken is bloody delicious , I just wish the "papad" they server would.nkt cost us 20 rands for an extra piece :(

Penny Farthing used to be great, good food and super service. The service has gone downhill since the new owners took over, we had to wait over 20mins for coffees to arrive and no one came during that time to take our food order. Decided not to order food if that wait was anything to go by. Went to pay the bill at the counter and had to wait 8 mins (yes, I timed it!) to be acknowledged. The owner was taking to the teller and completely ignoring customers wanting to pay. Won't be going back until I hear things have improved.

Had a delightful breakfast this morning. The prices are very reasonable and the service was good.
