We have stayed here 3 times and each time we have experienced different rooms; balcony, ground floor facing the river, and a standard room that faces the back. Each room was wonderful! Clean, comfortable, quiet, and nicely decorated. The views of the river can't be beat! Breakfast is delicious 😋 The staff are always friendly and ready to assist. We would take nightly walks down by the Mississippi River and it was just incredibly peaceful. If you're looking for a place to stay in Le Claire, consider staying here and get that river view 😉

I haven't actually stayed there yet. First I tried to book a room for my friends wedding when I was told the woman I was talking to was new and didn't know how to do that, and that she wood ask her manager and call me back, which never happened. A week later after several attempts to get through on the phone, my wife was able to get the room reserved for a astronomical price for a 2 star hotel. Now our plans have changed and we would like to cancel our rooms and my wife and I have spent all day trying to get a hold of Holiday Inn Express. I'm the only one that has been able to get through and was put on hold for 53 min. When I hung up to call again, it would no longer go through to the front desk.

I have stayed here a few times over the last 6 years and I love it! The people make this a 5 star experience. Krista is the nicest and most helpful individual ever! The rooms are clean and quiet, and the balconies are great! Pro tip: there is a big difference between the train side and the river side. Go for the river side (even room numbers).

Great place to stop! The front desk service was very prompt and super pleasant! The room was clean and very comfy. I had a river view room and I highly suggest getting a room with a view. Waking up to the sun rising over the Mississippi is a sight to see. The pool area was clean and well kept with plenty of towels. Lots of places to sit a relax in the lobby. Great selection of drinks and snacks in the convenience center. Super easy to get to and very close to lots of dining options. Great hotel

Usually stay at Marriotts but this hotel was closer to work. Very impressed. The receptionist made me feel like a long term member of Hilton Rewards. Gave me directions to the elevator and room. The room was exceptionally clean with all the standard amenities... Price was really decent and afternoon has free beer and soup. Hard to beat !

Really... I can't say enough about this hotel. 1. Amazing view of the Mississippi. 2. Spacious room w/ fridge & microwave. 3. Outdoor access to 1st floor rooms, making unloading & loading so much easier. 4. Great area; quaint and interesting town. 5. Affordable, especially w/ educator discount.

Loved this hotel. Clean, new, lovely staff, great view of Mississippi and fabulous sunrise, private balcony. The German restaurant 2 parcels down the street has outstanding food! The hotel was an easy on and off the 80. The room was huge. New couch! Really enjoyed this stay. Thanks.

Clean, pleasant, comfortable rooms and Lobby, tasty hot breakfast. I appreciated the Front Staff reserving the top floor rooms for clients requesting non-pet rooms! Not all of us have pets, and it's very much appreciated, as I have pet allergies. The location is lovely; right along the scenic Mississippi River! We had a lovely stay here! Highly recommend 👍👍

We stayed one night while passing through Le Claire. We had a very nice room with a river view. I loved the large vanity in the bathroom. The beds and pillows are super comfy. The breakfast was good, having many different options. I recommend the warm cinnamon rolls. I would have given 5 stars, but there was a lot of trash(candy wrappers, empty single serve peanut butter containers, etc)behind the nightstand.

This was a pleasant surprise. When we pulled up I noticed the marina just next door and the train tracks next to the hotel. Believe it or not the trains going by were not a bother but I do use white noise to sleep. It was super clean. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great! Nice selection of items.

We have been traveling all over the US for the past two months and stayed in many hotels in over 10 states. Most of the places were more expensive and not nearly as nice as this hotel!! This was a last minute stop due to the timing of our trip and we were so delighted to see the beautiful location and welcoming lobby! The staff was extremely friendly and there were even snacks, beer and soda free as a happy hour! The room was large, nicely appointed with a large work desk my digital nomad husband greatly appreciated! It was spotlessly clean. We even had a chance to use the nice pool and jacuzzi. Also, the breakfast was better than every other place we have stayed. I highly recommend this hotel!

Great place to stop on our way to Chicago! Right on the Mississippi River—ask for a room on the river side, unless you love trains because it is right next to the tracks. We had a lovely stroll down the street to the Beerstube restaurant and then strolled farther down the river as the sun was setting. Our room had a small balcony and so we could sip a local IPA we purchased at the reception—recommended!!

The room was great. I would have loved spending more time sleeping in the comfortable king bed. Late in the evening, I heard a rumbling sound outside. I forgot that there's a rail line a stones throw away from the back parking lot. HAHA, the jokes on me. There was a full breakfast. Great selection, friendly staff. All in all, it's a great place to stay right on the Grand Dame, herself, the Mighty Mississippi. I didn't realize how much I had missed her. Oh, for a couple more days to watch barges and sightseers on cruise ships. But, I digress!

Beautiful location! Private and cozy but easy to get to from the interstate. Super friendly, kind and giving staff as well as clean and nicely designed rooms. Upon arrival snacks consisting of homemade deviled eggs, cheese and cracker and clod beers were offered. While I was getting my evening coffee at the coffee bar the kindest staff member gave us cinnamon rolls and more of her homemade deviled eggs. This was one of the most memorable stops on our trip and it was only for a night! Highly recommended even if just passing through.

The hotel was in a convenient location for our needs. When we arrived, I was impressed by its cleanliness. The room was clean and fully equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The staff was extremely helpful and congenial. I spoke to McKenzie when I was making reservations and she was so helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel and it deserves 5 stars or more!

I wanted to love this hotel. It sits right on the Mississippi River and Le Claire is such a cute town. However, this hotel is in desperate need of an overhall. Our room had a funky smell, the carpets were dirty, and I didn't feel very confident sleeping in the bed. Our air conditioner blew warm air, and I had to call the front desk for a fan. At no time were we offered a new room for the inconvience. We couldn't sleep because it was at least 80 degrees in the room, and we couldn't open the window due to the wildfire smoke from Canada. After complaining at checkout, the manager gave me 25 dollars off the bill. I would have payed an extra 50 for air! The only redeeming quality is the patio and view of the river. I would never stay here again.

I had a room that had a balcony that overlooked the lake. It was beautiful. The breakfast was also an added treat. I was referred by my daughter to stay there and I'm so glad I took her advice. I will be back.

If I could give this hotel more stars I would. Upon entry in the hotel I knew it was going to be good, very clean and professional environment. Breakfast had lots of hot food items. The hot tub was down while we were there and there is a train that goes by several times a night. But pretty good stay one of the nicest in a while.

Hotel was clean for the most part. A few issues though: the hotel is about 20 ft from some train tracks and they blow the horn as they go by. It literally shakes things on the desk. The room appeared to be well cleaned, however the towels had a weird smell of almost chocolate and there was a special stain on the comforter. I was there working nights and slept terribly because the cleaning staff kept slamming the doors when they would clean. All the doors close very hard and if you're not paying attention the whole floor will hear you when the door slams shut.

Stayed here to break up our trip from NY to CO. Really nice hotel right on the river, Room was spacious and clean. Room even had a separate door to the outside with a little patio. Staff was polite and accommodating. Overall a surprisingly nice stay.

I brought a bus group to Le Claire and we stayed the night . The staff was great. We unfortunately had bus issues and stay again. The staff was very helpful and amazing. They got us water and made cookies for us. This hotel is top notch!! Thank you goes out to all the Holiday inn staff!!

When traveling as a single female there are certain things you look for in hotels. From the moment I walked in and was greeted until I got safely into my room I felt extremely comfortable. The amount of space from the parking lot to the door is very minimal so when coming back late at night I did not feel unsafe. The front desk staff was very welcoming and even accommodated my need for a bottle opener since I forgot one. My room was very clean and spacious, there were plenty of linens and everything was very clean. Another great feature is they have a Keurig with individual coffee cups so you can select if you would like regular, decaf or a few different teas in the morning. The complimentary breakfast has several great options including an egg white omelette with vegetables and turkey sausage. Those are things you don't normally find on a continental breakfast that were appreciated! There is also a hot oatmeal bar, pancakes, several pastries as well as regular eggs and bacon. There were a few fruit options as well as yogurt and cereal. I did not take advantage of the balcony rooms overlooking the river but the location was still great and my next stay I will probably do so! I would gladly recommend this hotel and return for another stay! Thank you to all the staff for providing such a welcoming clean and comfortable stay!

Prices online do not reflect the real price. Said 107 on Google. Was 200!!!!! A night. I've paid that before but not at a place where they do housekeeping at 7:50 in the am. Very dissapointed. I got in at midnight was awoken by slamming doors by guests and housekeeping. Tried to shower but no soap. Never coming back

The desk clerk put us in Room 324. 40 minutes or so later we heard a noise at the door and a party of 3 entered the room. The desk clerk had assigned us to someone else's room! Fortunately we were still dressed and had not unpacked our bags. But we still had to go get a cart, gather our things, and move to another room. Awkward and uncomfortable to say the least. (The hotel did give us a partial credit for the night as a result of this experience.)

Checked in 5/5/22 to attend a family wedding downtown Le Claire. Rooms were clean/nice. After a long drive we found the hot tub closed...disappointing. The hotel is located close to freight train tracks. Loud/long trains all night..obnoxious train horns made it impossible to sleep for adults and little ones. Note ...book a room on the river side!! We heard it was better there, not as loud. Friday before the wedding, wanted to chill in the hot tub...still closed. Saturday we had the grand kids (2) went to the pool area there was about 30 young kids who took over the entire pool area. A few adults supposed to be supervising them were drinking beer. Deafening screaming, we had to leave after my 4 year old grand daughter was nearly hit in the head with a football thrown by an adult! The entire situation was terrible. Never saw anyone from the hotel check the area. Such a nice hotel but the trains and pool/hot tub area disappointments spoiled our stay there.

A hidden gem on the river! I was on a roadtrip by myself to visit my son. I needed somewhere to stay to breakup the lengthy drive. I read other reviews and decided to give it a try. I felt safe staying here alone. Waking up to the river and a wonderful complimentary breakfast in the morning was a great start to my day! Family environment and a good night's rest.
