An amazing collection of military armour and artillery. Our boys enjoyed the opportunity to shoot some rifles at the shooting gallery. The collection of tanks from many countries is quite extensive. I really enjoyed the Ancient Rome exhibit it was very interesting and had lots of information about things that have come from the Romans. Well worth a visit.

An amazing collection of tanks, armoured vehicles, and artillery can be found here. This place is huge, and you should allow at least a full day to see it all. You are able to get up-close to the fantastically presented exhibits. We were lucky to be here during their "Ausarmourfest" yearly event and could see a few tanks and vehicles operating around their course. You can even get a ride! Downstairs they have a shooting range where you shoot one of their collection of rifles. They are adding to their collection constantly, and you can see their progress on their YouTube channel. We shall return!

The museum is amazing. The staff enthusiastic, knowledgeable and welcoming.. A huge range of well Preserved tanks most in working order and all with description of what tank is and where they were used. I saw something different each day I was there. 3 days in all. We went for Armour Fest which was fantastic and I am not into Tanks. The energy of the event was high. To see so many working tanks driving and taking excited passengers was a buzz. Well worth spending a few days at the event.

What a Gem, took my 11yo here while in Cairns and we had a ball with over 200 plus Tanks and items on display. Amazingly restored and really have a sense of the conditions inside them. Highly recommend to pop in, good prices and they said the tickets are valid for three days, so if your an avid fan you can take the time to read all the information and pop back later to finish.

Oh my gosh! I discovered this gold mine of military history by mistake, just driving by, heading to my hotel. I've traveled the world visiting WW2 sites (including France, UK, Poland, Japan, USA, Germany, and Thailand) and museums, and this is up there with the best of them. What an amazing collection of Armour! If you are in the Cairns area, take half a day and head out here. You will not be disappointed. The staff we're super friendly and clearly love what they do. I'm still pleasantly shocked!

This place is much bigger than we expected and it is all under cover. So many great exhibits of tanks from around the world. There is an optional shooting gallery to experience military rifles and a modified tank for joyrides. There is no cafe on site but a shopping centre nearby. The pass is valid for a number of days. We'll worth a visit.

A must to do in Cairns!!! The Australian Armour And Artillery Museum delivers an astonishing collection of armour And artillery. Need to spot 1-2 hours to explore the larger variety of tanks and other vehicles. There is a shooting gallery to experience real shooting. If interested, make sure to be there before 9:30 as the shooting capacity is limited. Located 25 km NW of Cairns with plenty of car parks. Good idea to combine your visit to the museum with Skyrail to make it a full day trip. Highly recommended!!!

For the enthusiast this place is fascinating and massive. I went with my 2 sons and they loved it. Highly recommend if it is your thing but even if it's not there is still a lot of history and is very interesting. My sons loved the APC ride.

We were so excited that a shooting range was present in Cairns and it's funny that this place doesn't come up on usual things to do search results. The museum itself is absolutely stunning and has sooooo much to see and is fascinating to look at the tanks and armoury on display. The shooting range is small and a bit pricey but well worth it as you get to fire two WW2 rifles which is an amazing experience.

It's a sanctuary for every history buff. The number of meticulously restored vehicles put my heart into the highest peak. And I made my friends jealous. The exhibition covers the history of tanks from the late 1930s up to the present day. Surprisingly the Third Reich section is phenomenally represented. Don't think twice, just buy a ticket!

Absolutely world class experience. This is probably the best and largest collection of international armour and artillery you’ll see in Australia and rivals some of the great tank museums globally. Highly recommend the APC rides and there’s also a shooting range with historical firearms. You could very easily spend a full day here.

If you are in Cairns and like history or military things, you must drop in and check this place out. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The number of vehicles, artillery guns, and weapons on display is by far the best in Australia! They also have a shooting range downstairs if you would like to fire a selection of rifles. The gift shop has lots of great souvenirs too. It was my first visit and definitely won't be my last. I rate this place 5/5 stars and look forward to my next visit.

Amazing collection if you are a military / tank / history fan. They hv equipments ranging from WWI, WWII till current listing. Staff are v friendly n helpful, they proudly share that a large portion of their collection are even restored to mobilised. I give them a five as it’s one of the best tank museum I’ve been to internationally.

Absolutely loved this place. Went as a family group and we all enjoyed it. (even those that didn't have much knowledge about tanks) They have a very impressive range of tanks and good information on them all, many (if not all) of which look like are still in working/drivable/movable order. The tank/vehicle rides and shooting area looked interesting. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. There was also a play area for children. If we lived close enough we would definitely be going to see AusArmourFest as well. Would definitely reccomend this place.

Five stars if you like military hardware, especially WWII stuff. It is a very large display of the USA, British, German, and Russian tanks and artillery. Most are beautifully restored. Well worth the price of entry.
