I would often visit here as a kid with my cousins. Now I get to share this park with my 20-month-old. It's a safe place to take him for a stroll and we never have to worry about it being too crowded. The fact that it's dog friendly is also a huge bonus! The park has only become more beautiful with age. I included a picture from 1991 and of today. ☺️

Beautiful little park to walk for all ages. There's a basic loop around the pond or you can add the wooded trails for a longer stroll. Lots of birds, ducks and turtles around when we visited.

This is one of my favorite parks on Long Island. While not very big (clocking in at approximately 0.5 miles for the entire loop around), it is still beautiful and has a lot of wildlife to observe. You can see deer, several different bird species (a lot of bird watchers frequent this park), turtles (I once saw a snapping turtle), fish, etc. I'm always amazed at how many animals I see in this park. It is usually quiet with not a lot of foot traffic. It's a great place to do some photography. There are several benches spread throughout the trail for you to sit and relax on. There are some back trails that extend beyond the pond which I've ventured onto once or twice but never really figured out how far they go. Fishing is prohibited but you'll occasionally see people casting a line. I really like this park because it seems like its been undisturbed for so many years. It's very tranquil and my go to spot for photography and a walk.

A wonderful place to bird watch, walk your dog, picnic in the back meadow, or go for a short trail run. Parking is limited behind the post office, but can be found on Main Street. A special gem are the summer Sunday concerts at 5:30. Bring a chair or blanket.

Frank Melville is a beautiful park with lots of diverse flora and fauna. There's a short, paved loop around a pond, and dirt trails through the woods. It's located in a picturesque and historic area with plenty to do nearby.

One of my go to places for local birding. Great park, leisurely walking trails and on a good day you can easily score fifteen or twenty bird species. The resident mute swans are always around.

This was our first time at Frank Melville Memorial Park. We walked around the park, met let’s of pleasant people with well behaved dogs walking on leash & met a bird watching group looking for a certain type of bird. Nice way to end our day. Pretty place to take photos of your four legged babies too.

It's a beautiful park open from dawn to dusk. Parking is behind the post office and can be a little tight, so it's usually easier to park along the street (so long as you don't park in the two spots set aside for the post office). There are two paths. The first is paved, goes around the pound, and is about 0.4 miles long. The second involves an unpaved portion that goes around a forested and protected area and, when added to the pond path, is 0.8 miles long.

My family and I enjoy this walking park. Very serene and relaxing. Beautiful lake views, more or less, low attendance, very dog friendly park that you can walk at your own pace.

It is always so peaceful, beautiful and calming. Love this park and love that you are welcome to bring your dog as long as you clean up after your furbaby.

An oasis in our beautiful historic town. Wonderful photography spot and besufuk trails to explore in behind the red barn- you can't miss them! The old grist mill is so beautifully preserved and a treasure to our local history

Beautiful and quiet park with scenic pond and wild life. The northern end has a beautiful bridge and water mill and over looks the river towards the LI Sound.
