What an amazing collection of art, artefacts, sculpture and culture of PNG. A remarkable collection. Don't visit Port Moresby without seeing it.

I visited this museum and art gallery 4 years ago when I was attending the 2018 APEC Summit. This museum visits was part of the spouse program for 2018 APEC leaders' spouses. Our First Lady, Madame Iriana Joko Widodo, was part of the spouses who visited this museum. As someone who likes museum and antique stuffs, I was impressed by this museum artifact collection. This place is like the house for the rich natural, cultural, and contemporary heritage of Papua New Guinea. This museum collections include object relating to music, body adornment, ceremony, marks and totem poles, etc. The guide said that there was more than 50.000 ethnographic objects in the museum collections. Wow! I think this museum is a must visit for all coming to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea!

For you who love art and History. You may enjoy the beauty and History of PNG from the artefacts. The flow and presentation is really good and well prepared. The information in each diorama is really useful. It will be really good if the management provide audio as well. Must visit list while in PNG!

Probably the best museum I’ve ever been to. A simple but thorough collection of extremely well preserved and fascinating objects that represent the tapestry of Papua New Guinean culture. An absolute must if in Port Moresby - there isn’t much tourism completion in town!

One of the most incredible places to visit in PNG. It provides so much historical and cultural context through artifacts, clothing, and art. There is so much to see and everything is well explained. It is free to enter, but do ask for donations. Note that the staff will sometimes close the museum if they have a meeting. Recommend getting there early in the day (right when it opens) to ensure one has time to see things.

I was privileged to attend the reopening following the refurbishment. Never get tired of visiting this place; it holds a lot of stories through the artworks, yet many more remain untold.

Great place to visit in Port Moresby. The gardens around the facility are large and open and are the venue for periodic market events where local crafts and art is sold. The museum itself is free and holds a trove of local cultural artefacts that are well worth exploring. We had a great afternoon there before heading out on the Kokoda Trail.

Fascinating knowledge of the different cultures and tribes and their histories. Presented very well. I wish the WW2 exhibits are presented wee instead of just leaving them open to the elements.

Excellent museum with many interesting artifacts. There is an exhibit that is going in about oral histories of WWII, I hope to be able to go back and see it in the future. The air conditioning was a welcome relief from the heat of POM.

This place is well worth the visit, fairly centrally located less than 10 minutes from my hotel was a bonus. The museum is really well maintained and has a lot of artifacts on display well lit if using a camera and was very quiet on a weekday. Free entry is always nice and I will definitely visit again.

A good experience soured because of a rude guard. Great set up inside. Wondering why the war relics are out in the weather though.

Great way to appreciate how rich and ancient PNG culture is. Stone tools from 36,000 years ago, along with skull racks, and more modern paintings are on display.

Great collection of historical art from around PNG. They don't have any place for snacks tho and the front office dude was watching movies and didn't realize I was waiting at the door the first two times. Otherwise, it's good
