We've stayed here four years in a row but after this trip we will never be back. The bartender was very rude to my kids said rude remarks several different times. Was talking about people to other guest things that shouldn't even be talked about. The breakfast was okay. Same thing every day got kinda old. Housekeeping however was excellent. They were super nice and helpful. Our next vacation will definitely be down the road instead of here. If your a guest here everyone should be treated the same way and felt welcomed in.

Every person I had interaction with was very nice! My room was great. With two exceptions. One, the carpet really needs to be shampooed. My socks were filthy after one night's stay. Secondly, there is a 4" "kick-plate" (for lack of better words) at the base of the sliding glass door. Which I tripped over EVERY single time I went out or came in from the balcony. They had 2 signs on the door. One very large sign on white background, stating no smoking. However, the sign warning to step over, was on a clear background on a clear window. Hard to see. This was VERY dangerous. I was on the 5th floor, so it wasn't like it was needed to prevent excess water from the storms coming into the room. Other than that, it was very clean (carpet being the exception) comfy bed. Lovely breakfast.

This is our third time staying at this lovely property. The view is breathtaking and in the quiet part of the Daytona Beach Shores. The breakfast is always good and the staff friendly. They allow me to stay right on the beach with my service dog and that makes me happier than anything. My problem is the bait and switch that happened this time. The website says Free Parking, however, I was charged $15 a night upon arrival after prepaying?? I hate this and I hate to even put it on here but, a roach ran across the kitchen counter from a cup of coffee I left while we were at the beach and up the wall before my husband was able to catch it and flush it down the toilet. I am so sad about this and the lie about parking because we love this place. But, I digress...we may have to find a new favorite place there in the Shores. I worked at the Courtyard Marriott in Louisville, Kentucky and our property was so well maintained it doesn't seem that this property is maintained as well. There were water leaks all over, even in the breakfast area..the front entrance and a stairwell. I'm sad and I wish things had stayed as nice as they were in 2019.

I booked an ocean view room and had only a view of the parking lot. Told by the front desk clerk that it did have an ocean view it was a partial view. Could not even see a partial view. First room they put me in I could hear dogs barking very loudly in the room next to mine. When I changed rooms they gave me a worse room and the room smelled like cat pee. I am a gold elite member and have stayed in multiple Marriott hotels and resorts and this one is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and the service was horrible. I came for my wedding. I would never stay here again

Hotel was extremely filthy. You expect some sand on the floor and pool deck at a beachfront hotel. However, the foot rinse from the beach never worked so sand was all in the pools and hot tub tracked throughout the pool deck and hotel lobby. Mentioned to management multiple times with no explanation or apology. Pool was only cleaned daily around 10:30 AM when everyone was in the pool. Even water fountain had algae growing in it and never cleaned. Hotel was in disrepair, filthy and no apologies for the condition of this Marriott property. I was extremely surprised that Marriott would allow the poor maintenance and condition of this facility. I would recommend finding a different hotel. Even the hospitality from the staff was horrible.

This hotel is in rough shape. But I'll start with the good first: it's on the beach, they have beach towels, fresh coffee and tea all day, easy parking access, a lots of TV channels and friendly housekeepers😀. The bad: rooms need to be updated, AC is slow to cool the room, most uncomfortable beds ever, not enough parking for all guests, lobby needs to be cleaned more often and carpet is very old, beach access is dirty, had a funny smell, clogged sink, bathroom fan doesn't work, falling stucco on the outside. Breakfast sucks, there is a foreign lady that stands in the middle of the Breakfast room looking mean. It's all frozen junk that's microwave and tastes horrible. Downstairs bathrooms are HORRIBLE! Disgusting smell, water coming from the ceiling and broken sink with a do not use sign. I can't belive management can't fix a sink for months. No maintenance or cleaning at the pool I don't know what happened every time!? Customers constantly YELLING at the front desk. I've never been to a hotel and seen so many fights at the front desk! Constant yelling from customers. I guess other people had some big issues 🤷

Stayed here for 1 night with Premium Elite status. It was between this and Hyatt Place (have Globalist status), and the Hyatt rooms were “balcony with partial ocean view.” The Marriott rooms said “balcony with ocean view.” We ultimately chose the Marriott because we wanted the guaranteed ocean view… Checking in to find out from the front desk that Marriott’s version of “ocean view” means it’s only partial, not full… How hard is it to put in the extra word “partial” then into the room description? If we could redo this stay, we would have stayed at the Hyatt Place 2 doors north. The breakfast was ok. The rooms weren’t very updated. There was dirt and crumbs all over the floor not cleaned up. The couches had stains and were gross looking. Shower was awkward cause you have to go in to turn it on first. The balcony chairs are a terrible height for sitting and watching the ocean. Better views by standing. The view of the ocean from the pool was of course amazing. The pool however was SO cold, you couldn’t really stay in it… everyone was in the hot tub.

The hotel is lovely, the breakfast is great. It was clean and very nice. I stayed here over the memorial day weekend. I forgot 2 gold necklaces. When I realized my mistake it was over a day later. I called and spoke to housekeeping who told me both my necklaces were turned in. I returned to the hotel the next day (a 2 1/2 hour drive) and sure enough they were there. One necklace was a family heirloom and the other a rather pricey necklace. I have stayed in many places through the years and I can honestly say this was a first! The honest folks that work there are applauded. I was humbled by their honesty. Thank you housekeeping for making my day. I recommend this hotel and I will be sure and stay there again.

Never got to stay here. Had requested to check in at two. I am a gold elite member. I was told at four o'clock my room wasn't ready and they couldn't give me any estimated time of when my room would be ready. We drove from 2.5 hr away with a small child. This is unacceptable. We called the marriot 800 line and got our points refunded but we lost two hours of out time searching for another hotel. I am warning everyone stay away! We didn't even get an apology. Extremely poor customer service.

I wanted to stay on the beach and I choose this residence Inn instead of the Delta Hotel a few miles North based on reviews. I was disappointed by the Hotel and the room. It feels like a Motel 6 without a soul on the beach. The room was in need of a lot of work and the front desk persons were not super welcoming.... this was my worse Residence Inn experience. Breakfast, kitchen and cleaning staff were very nice and professional. The pool and location was very nice too. A lot of kids though but I expected that based on the Hotel category. Ac are very loud in room and bed is not great at all.

I took a video, the shower was so dirty, with mold, rust and stains. the bathtub had tiles falling off. The amenities in the shower had fallen off the wall and were laying on the floor in the shower. Water spots and soap scum was on the shower door. Holds in the carpet through out the facility. The couch was so dirty, ripped and had an odor. Never would sit on it. The railings on the patio had all the paint peeled off of it. I have been a marriotts rewards participant for years. This was the worst hotel ever. The veiws were beautiful, but I just can't get past the dirty bathroom, carpet and furniture. We didn't even stay the night. We went home. I have a video if anyone is interested in seeing it.

This place is a dump! The website pictures are deceiving and the front desk staff are rude and have a major attitude problem. Our room wasn't ready until after 4pm on our arrival day. After finally getting a room we discovered the awfulness of this place. The room had a terrible odor. It smelt like cigarette smoke, fish and mildew. The furniture in the living area was very worn and ripped. The decorative pillows were stained. It was gross. The bed wasn't any better and the pillows were flat as a pancake. After asking the staff for another room they were unable to accommodate. They offered us a room 1.5 days after our check in. Not worth the move at that point as it was a short trip for us. I would NOT recommend this hotel. Do your research and find somewhere better.

My sister has always traveled and stayed at Marriott. For years she and her husband would enjoy the privileges of having earned points groom his hard work on the road. It was a home away from home, but this place did not offer that friendly family atmosphere because the employees at the desk were sarcastic and made remarks that implied she did not deserve to have the amenities which were always available before. Dear Manager, please look into hearing new desk help. Thank you

Great location with oceanfront rooms. We upgraded to direct oceanfront and our room has two balconies and a separate bedroom from living & kitchen area. Great for our four day stay. We brought our bikes and rode up and down the beach at low tide, plus visited Ponce Preserve. Breakfast was great with lots of variety to pick from. Only complaints were the balconies need some attention, the rails were in need of powder coating and there was mold in several areas. The shower was awkward and wasted a ton of water by making you turn it on full blast, I like the option of using less water, they need to change those handles out. Our shower ceiling looked like there had been a leak above at some point and had been repaired, but could use a coat of paint to cover that up. For a Marriott property, there were some items that need addressing. Overall we had a great stay and will visit again for the beaches and the view.

Here is my very objective review: Pro: large room, nice free breakfast. Con: Dated facilities, lack of certain optional amenities It’s a decent hotel and I am a big Marriott fan. Yet, my room just feels old! Kitchen is nice but mine have a water leaking issue. When compared to a nearby Marriott hotel within a mile I have to lower one star.

We came here last year and the staff was nice and helpful! The room was also very clean and comfortable. This year, I didn't book in advance, but Ashley at the desk helped us get a beautiful room for a great price. Highly recommend this hotel. Cannot wait to come again.

Hotel lobby is nice, the customer service is wonderful! Breakfast could’ve have had more variety and options. While this location is outdated, the employees do a great job of maintaining it and making sure it is clean and safe. Front desk everyday was superb, and made our stay worth it.

The location is everything. Stairs to the beach you really can’t beat it. Although you can definitely stay here with kids, and I will again don’t be surprised when most of the residents, other guests and staff are rolling their eyes about it. Most of the staff was polite and helpful. Room was clean and well stocked aside from my missing requests. USB outlets only worked in the bedroom. Great view from balcony!

Was promised a ocean view room. They made no effort to accommodate. I'm a elite members with no recognition from this hotel. Front office mgr who was also asst mgr he said was borderline rude and uncooperative. Breakfast was great and several items. Please bring back waffles we make ourselves. Room was great and pool was beautiful.

Nice clean hotel! Nice big rooms with small kitchen, big lobby to hangout. Free coffee on day, breakfast was good. Nice pool area plus on the beach! Only problem is the bathroom near the pool area. Wasn’t fixed for 3 days plus the sink was taped up. Otherwise highly recommend it!

Very nice hotel, and a great location directly on the beach, but far enough away from the touristy and run-down areas of Daytona which are farther north. Hotel itself and rooms feel luxury, breakfast is plentiful, and parking is free. Rooms also have a full kitchen. We had a great experience here in April, and would come back again in the future. We also recommend trying Senor Taco directly across the street.

Great place. The family loved the room with the full kitchen and plenty of sleeping areas. It was quite spacious for a big family. The pool was nice and the access to the beach was great.

We stayed here a couple of nights in February before a cruise. The weather wasn't great, but everything at this hotel was. The staff, bartender, food, location, warm pool. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing 5 night stay directly on the beach! The room was fabulous. The service was great. The heated pools and deck areas were impeccable. The daily breakfast was substantial and filling. The bed was comfortable. The rooms were quiet. Could not have asked for a better experience!

I flew in for a wedding and spent 2 nights here. I didn't get to stay in the room for too long because I was a part of the wedding party so between when I got there, the rehearsal and dinner, plus the wedding and reception, I was only at the hotel during these times. With that said, at first glance a pretty decent property. However, Sunday morning when I went to take a shower the ceiling was peeling and started falling off in the tub. Sunday night when I got back and Monday morning when I checked out there was more of the ceiling just falling off in the tub. Additionally, I have Silver Elite status with Marriott Bonvoy. I usually can get a late checkout with no problem. After the wedding, I got in really late and needed to sleep in a little due to a later flight and the overnight girl told me they only give late checkout to Platinum and Titanium members. I wasn't going to go back and forth with her but I knew for a fact I would give a review. Maybe she needs to be coached/educated on what benefits come with different statuses. I'm sure the hotel was not fully booked on a weekday Monday that wasn't a holiday so I don't see what the problem was. I work in hospitality leadership and could have schooled this girl but I choose my battles.

I love this place I will definitely be back. I came from another hotel which was so horrible and wasn't able to even check in here until about 8 PM they got me right into a room and the next day was able to move into a partial ocean view. The room was quite comfortable the service was awesome. They have breakfast every day and though I don't eat most breakfast foods they had a nice sample of fruit available as well as coffee everyday. The view from the balcony as well as the raised patio on the second floor was so beautiful. I spent my 66th birthday here And I look forward to spending more days here in the future.

We basically lived here for more than 2 months or so. Their service, food, and location is great. My husband was here for work, so we tried some airbnbs but didn’t really liked them. Our original reservation was 2-3 days since we didn’t know how it was going to go. Well, we loved it so much that we stayed here until my husband was done with work. Their staff were always welcoming and very friendly with our baby. Breakfast is delicious! My husband would go down specifically for their biscuits and gravy every morning. I hate saying, we both gained weight. 😂 Their manager, Marcello was very helpful when would extend the reservation. Lastly, I like the apartment set up, every time we would go out, coming back felt like home.

We had a great time. I called the day before check in to make a request and the customer service was excellent. Even though it doesn't have a balcony, the city view room has great views from every window. All of the front desk staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is clean. Thank you for our lovely stay by the beach!

Great layout and service. Rooms and entry doors showing a little wear from the salt water and salty air, but no worse than any other beachside hotel. Beaches still messed up from Hurricane Nicole but that is along all Daytona Shores beaches. Sargassum has started to show up on the beach already.

  • 5/5 Jennifer D. 2 years ago on Google
Great hotel, just a few minutes drive from the bustling Daytona Beach area, so you can enjoy the activity during the day but have a quiet, comfortable room with a view at night. Staff is lovely. Breakfasts are back, post-covid. Great pool/deck/bar area on the beach. Management was wonderful in fixing a billing issue quickly. Residence Inn is my go-to hotel & this one is no different! 🌟

I finally found a clean, hospitable, place, with comfy bed & bedding, a full size fridge/freezer, with ice maker, kitchen, dining, living & work space, a working pool & hot tub, in the Shores, near my beach home, to stay during my displacement from my condo building, that was annihilated by Hurricane Ian & Nicole in 2022. I moved 7 times before I landed here April 10th of 2023. Finally felt safe, secure, and taken care of, which was desperately needed after all the challenges I endured the 7 previous months of bouncing around. Sit on one of my two balconies, in private, or in my comfy king size bed, and BREATHE, a HUGE SIGH of RELIEF. My condo just south in DBS, on A1A, was supposed to be ready May 15th, it wasn't, and although there were a few kinks during my stay, overall? BRAVO!! FANTASTICO! Minus some stained furniture in rooms (I went from 2nd, to 5th, to 8th floors during the duration of my stay), and in lobby, as well as lack of air-conditioning on 8th floor halls. It smelled like dirty socks in a hot sauna on hot humid, FL days, and some leaking through ceilings, into breakfast & dining area during heavy storms, and some torn up carpet in suite 513, oh & dangerously slippery walk in showers, all was 5 star accommodations... From room service, to maintenance, to management, to housekeeping, to breakfast, bar, & front desk staff, EXCELLENT! Thank you for being my home away from home during one of the most challenging times in my life. As manager Giovanni said to me, one hard morning, when I was desperately missing home, my sons, in other states, and having some semblance of normalcy in my life, while I was down getting coffee & pool tool, to get to some comfort & presents, in my water therapy...came the kindest words, "Renee, you are family now!" <3 It may have cost me thousands of dollars to stay from April to July, but worth every penny. I am forever grateful for the hospitality & sincere care, in my direst need. You all have made a lifetime returning guest out of me and I will highly recommend to others. Thank you to all the fine employees at my Residence for months longer than intended. Bless you all!

We are on our 2nd of our deliberate Residence Inn Tour of America. This place is pretty good, I'd stay here again; but, a few things. The tiles in the room and the granite in the shower are beautiful but all wrong. Very slippery and dangerous. The safety features that ensure that only registered guests can get into the pool, workout facility, and room floors are all non-functional. They need to be repaired or engaged. Non-registered guests are flagrantly using the pool and no one seems willing to confront them. Maybe more light in the area where people get ready. It's really dark and I'm not a fan of the hair dryer available. The kitchen is beautiful and the appliances spectacular. The chicken quesadilla and Sheila at The Hurricane are both priceless. Change nothing there but maybe get some real hot sauce. No ice cream at the sundries store? We would have bought some every night. The exercise facility was ok. A little stale smelling, but watching the people in their swimsuits at the pool kept me on my treadmill long after my planned workout. Yikes.

Kitchen was nice and convenient with two small kids. Couch was a bit old/stained. Beds were comfortable. Blackout blinds were nice for sleeping kids. Balcony had a nice view, but rails were flaking so didn’t want kids to touch it. Door into the bedroom and bathroom kept getting stuck and we kept having to push VERY hard to open. They provided pool towels as well as a pack n play. Staff was helpful whenever encountered. Breakfast was decent with a lot of options (eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, egg sandwiches, yogurt, oatmeal, hash browns, etc). Beach access through hotel was closed which we knew about and it was a short walk to the beach, but we didn’t realize the beach has a LOT of construction and storm damage, so not very picturesque. Overall, was a good stay, but room could be better with some maintenance.

Best complimentary breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. Rooms were clean and fully stocked. Note of warning: it is a pet friendly hotel. There's no smell in the rooms, but if you have severe allergies the proximity may be enough to trigger symptoms.

We are so grateful we held an event add this location. The staff was outstanding and so were the accommodations. Will definitely be back. Especially Barbara was a phenomenal team leader who made the event effortless for us. All our attendees also truly enjoyed it

Great location right on the beach. However, no beach access from the hotel itself. The rooms are very clean and seem to be new. They could actually be new based on the last hurricane season. Large rooms with kitchens and couches. I will go back and stay at this hotel again.
