We dined here today as one of our first places since lockdown. As it was a nice day we waited a few minutes but the wait staff were very attentive and informative. We ordered via the app but they also happily take orders. The prawn tacos were amazing! So much flavour and real fresh. My husband had the southern fried fish and chips. It was outstanding, again very fresh but crispy and packed with flavour. I treated myself to the poke bowl which was generously portioned and quality ingredients. 10/10.. including the attentive and welcome wait staff who followed covid safe measures really well.

Delicious fish n chips, only issue I have was the wait times can be quite long (20 mins wait for mine) but was worth it. The batter is delicious and crunchy. Well packed with wooden cutlery, small tub of tartare and ketchup, and napkins, so when I took this to the beach to eat it was easy to eat.

The food here was absolutely incredible; a plethora of seafood options and none of them exorbitantly expensive. I ordered the tuna steak and my wife the chowder, although it took a while for them to come, they came warm and delicious. A nice selection of drinks were on offer and their own varieties of beers and ciders were very tasty drops indeed.

Dined at Tommy Ruff for lunch and had a fantastic experience thanks to great fresh food and lovely attentive staff. Seafood was all very fresh and generous servings. We shared the Chef's Platter between 4 ($100 - 2 fish, 2 tacos, 2 sliders, 2 Morton Bay Bugs, oysters, mussels, calamari, chips + probably more) and could have probably gone between 5. Also really enjoyed the Tacklebox for 2 which was huge. Props to the staff who were very attentive and always checking if we needed anything. Make sure you grab the chicken salt shaker! We arrived just after 12pm on a weekday and the restaurant was pretty full by 12.30pm.

Really fast service but with tasty and quality delivered to the table. I had the seafood chowder and boy did it hit the spot! Generous serves, (my friends had salmon, fish and rice dishes which were of good size and appealing too!) You don’t leave hungry and your tummy is happy 😊

This place is just lovely, I've been here multiple times now. All the waitresses are charming and friendly in a way that didn't seemed forced. The decor inside was lovely, with nice catchy music to match. The atmosphere was really nice, so its definetly worth seating inside if you can. The manager (I think) spoke to us at several times and hyped the food up in a way that made us salivate at the thought of all this delicious seafood. We promptly ordered the large chef special platter for two and while waiting, they even surprised us with free mocktails which was very much appreciated. Then the food arrived and wow, what an incredible selection of seafood. Its not often that I go somewhere and have no complaints on the food. Not even a minor suggestion for something to improve the dishes. We were blown away by the quality and freshness of all the food. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. At first I questioned the $100 price tag for this platter, but amount and quality of food you get was amazing. We will be back. 100% Thank you so much for the lovely night.

Very friendly and attentive staff, quick service and the wait for food was perfect. We had the healthy fisho pack. I would highly recommend the Japanese rocket salad. The grilled fish was cooked perfectly and seemed very fresh. Definitely will return.

Wow what a meal...absolutely delicious food. Highly recommend this place especially if you are a seafood lover like me. Everything was so fresh and tasted so delicious. We were a family of 4 people. We took the Chef's platter for 2 people which was more than enough for 3 people. Only our son ordered the Crab claw burger and we ordered the Southern fried fish as we wanted to try the battered fish (which wasn't part of the Chef's platter) and salt and pepper calamari (which was part of the platter so no need to order separately). On top of the delicious food the service was one of the best in Melbourne. Highly recommend the food and service here.

I will definitely come back again if I ever travel to Mordialloc again. The services and atmosphere was superb. The portion was big and fish was fresh. I went there with my partner and we enjoyed our evening very well in the restaurant. Highly recommend if you would like to have some fish & chips! 👍🏻

Great and delicious food at Tommy Ruff with a friendly amazing staff. This time e decided to eat Tacos and wow they were special. The place is so comfortable and has many fun designs. Was also really grateful that they had two type of spicy sauce to try from.

Seafood at its best! Delicious and innovative dishes. After a long drive from Swan Hill to Edithvale we decided to stop at Tommy Ruff's to have a nice seafood dinner. We had a tasty Stum Jumper Bun with grilled fish, a perfectly grilled Atlantic Salmon with fresh Greek Salad and crunchy Fish Wings. Customer service is excellent, super friendly and the dishes came out really fast.

I've been to Tommy Ruff in Mordy a few times but today I was having a rough day and we came for dinner. It was super busy and even though we had to wait for a table and wrestle the crowds, the staff were an absolute delight - so welcoming and attentive I completely forgot what a lousy day I was having. We ordered the chefs platter which was absolutely delicious. The staff constantly checked on us and made sure everything was OK. Thanks guys what a great end to my day.

The hype is real. Best seafood we have had in Melbourne. Rarely you visit a restaurant where everything exceeds the expectations: the food, taste and presentation, service, menu options and value for money. Here you can’t fault anything. We had the calamari, fish wings, grilled Barra and superfood salad. I am amazed how fresh everything was. The fish wings were the highlight as I am still thinking about them. Even the superfood salad was delicious. The servers were attentive and courteous and the vibe overall was wonderful. I am bummed at why i didn’t discover this place sooner as Mordy is my fav place for weekend outings and meals. I can’t wait to try the seafood platter next time.

AMAZINGGG FOOD If you’re a seafood lover then you should t miss this amazing spot right on Mordialloc Beach. Such an amazing restaurant with great interiors. They have a huge menu with many varieties to serve everyone’s taste buds. We tried the Moroccan Barramundi & the grilled Dorry fish. They came with a salad & chips. We tried the grilled calamari from the appetizers too which was fantastic. There’s also a great selection of drinks, we went for the Organic Sav Blanc n I must say it was one of the best I ever had! Our kids had the grilled fish that was so yummy too

Friendly, welcoming, delicious, easy to eat, local huge shout out to the young man who served us . He makes the place sparkle with his enthusiasm, courtesy and energy. The fish was delicate and cooked to perfection. Yummy chips and overall a delight. Ty TR. I don't have to go far to find something exceptional to eat. Well done. ,👍🏻🌟

Staff where really friendly and accomodating as we didn’t have a booking on a Sunday evening .. we ordered oysters which were average, fish tacos , calamari , fish bites and a barramundi ! The fish+calamari was really nice but the fish tacos weren’t as good as they used to be. I would still come again but order a fish meal instead of the tacos / bites

Yummy but very small portion for it's price. We ordered a Shellfish platter/hot pot - $70, thought it will be enough for 2 of us because it says platter for 2, but it was tiny. We had to order some fish and chips afterwards, and waited for a very long time again... However, the service was good and all the food was tasty.

Nice place, lovely staff and ambience with great food. It can get very busy so booking ahead is highly recommended. Note - the serves of sides are very generous so order them conservatively.

We had a fabulous lunch of seafood chowder, fish wings, salt + pepper calamari and fish & chips. Everything was cooked well and the freshness of the seafood was delightful. Service was great throughout. Wait times were alright though next time we'd arrive with more time to spare.

This was the first time I went to Tommy Ruff and I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Aussie angler, Flake it, Healthy Fisho, Potato cakes, fried dimsims, Calamari and 3 Lemon lime bitters. The fish was super fresh and the batter was light so it was crispy. The calamari had good flavour to it. The sauces were an extra $2.50 each, but the aioli and tartare sauce were really good.

The atmosphere was nice and the food was very good. It was Marissa’s customer service that cliched it. She was impeccable. She’s beautiful inside and out.

Quality. Fantastic food and service. A well stocked bar. Book ahead of you want to eat in as it gets pretty popular. Not cheap but worth every cent.

Outstanding! My second visit to this place. The food is delicious, fresh, and arrives quickly. On top of this (and the real standout) is the service, which is absolutely impeccable. Levy was our waiter and was friendly, efficient, and always ready to help with a smile. The other staff (whose names I didn't catch) were also excellent, remaining calm and friendly even with the restaurant busy with many customers demanding their attention. Thank you! Other restaurants and cafes in Melbourne should have their staff come here to learn about great service.

Came here with family Sat night, my brothers were quite late , and the restaurant had another booking at 8pm. Marissa the manager was absolutely exceptional, rearranging some tables and so we were not forced to rush our meal and leave by 8pm. Great food and great service by staff .

The original intention was to get take away but after the staff manager kindly checked in with us, a table was sorted not long after despite being what looked like a busy night. Friendly but polite staff, other customers were also chill and easy going too. But the biggest surprise was the food. I find it difficult finding good grilled fish but this kicked it well out of the park. We had 3 different styles of fish and all were amazing. So amazing I didn’t take any pictures… but here is my normally fussy dog going for round 2 of the salmon - it was his birthday. His face says it all really.

It is an amazing restaurant to visit My friend and I turned up without any appointment. Although the restaurant was very busy, we were welcome and seated very quickly. The customer service was amazing and the food quality was great. I also liked the atmosphere which quite pleasant and welcoming. Overall it was a great experience and it a highly recommended place Keep up the great work mates

Our friends recommended this shop to us. After we had, we definitely need to visit again and again! The fresh of food, the texture of meal, the kindness of staffs, everything else is absolutely incredible! I must say that the fish and chip here is the best part ever eaten in Australia! The other dishes like seafood chowder, calamari, hot pot mussel are fantastic too! Highly recommended and suggested to have an appointment before you go!

A fish and chips shop that's unlike others. This is a fusion style fish and chips joint. Very pleasant mix of east, west cuisine, blended into the traditional fish and chip dish.

Tommy Ruffs Mordialloc is the best! Food is always fresh and so tasty. Value for money and customer service is exceptional. One of our favourite places to eat.

Delicious, especially the curry fish (forgot to took a picture) and the whole fish. The shellfish hotpot is yummy but a little bit spicy 🌶️

I had the Sinker Buger (Beef Burger with the Lot) and a small chips and the better half had Battered Fish Tacos. Both were fantastic and tasty, the service was great and even thou the place was empty as we had an early dinner it had a very comfy feel

Visited Dec 2022, booked ahead for lunch and boy was that a smart move. This place is rocking on weekends. Staff are super friendly and engaged. We got some chips that weren't hot and they apologised and replaced it right away. Dealing with issues really tells a lot about a food establishment. Staff didn't make weird faces, no 'oh he's going to be one of those' body language, just attentive, apologetic and got the issue resolved. Fish was extremely fresh, and if anyone is needing a recommendation, our family favourite, and like 80% of the reason we keep coming back is the fish wings.

Cute place close to water. Good taste. Must try flounder if you like full fish 🐠. Amazing customer service and great place with interiors and art. Kids enjoyed the food too. Water jugs were a good attraction. Reasonable prices. Fresh tasty food. Fast service. Great presentation.

First meal outside, after the lockdown was this beautiful place that not only offers amazing vibes but great food as well. Thanks for the wonderful 1st.

Attentive and friendly staff. Great vibes and great fish. The tackle box for 2 has a nice variety of seafood with the blue grenedier being so tender and crisp and the chips okay. The flake was great had soft sweet meat. The Seafood chowder was slightly watery.

Ordered takeaway from here and it was super busy!! The girl working alone out the front, Marissa, was FANTASTIC!! She was patient with me while I was placing my order (which took me awhile) and went above and beyond for every customer that I saw her serve after me. She is an absolute asset to the business. The food was amazing, worth the price you pay, always fresh and worth the time you wait. I will definitely be coming back. Thanks Marissa for your exceptional customer service!!

Super dining experience with very fresh and delicious seafood. The service was incredible and the seafood platter was out of this world. Given the large portion sizes, there's even the option to take the remaining food in a box in a provided bag which was fantastic. Delicious food and a good selection of drinks. Make sure to book in advance as it's in popular demand!
