It's always nice to visit Mornington Peninsula on a sunny 🌞 day. There are plenty of things to be done around the pier, starting from small picnics, to dine at a good restaurant, shopping at the street nearby and some water sports apart from getting into the water for a beach day. There are restaurant of various cuisines to try from Italian, chinese, modern cafe style, Indian, Vietnamese , few good burger joints to nice gelatos.

This young lad landed a 79cm Snapper!! What an awesome effort. Thumbs up to the guy with long handled net that helped him. The young Fisher returned it to the sea, what a fantastic sporting gesture, well done!!!

Beautiful to stroll along the pier or drop a line. You might see a pod dolphins swim by or a seal resting. Cafe and restaurant here and its next to popular Mothers Beach. A popular pier for SCUBA divers too. Next to Schnapper Point, where you can watch the sunset across the water. Gorgeous!

Such a wonderful place, you see people doing multiple activities like boating, fishing, kayaking etc... there are multiple view points around and the drive to this place itself is very scenic!

A great pier for walking, fishing or even scuba diving underneath. The pier is quite long and wide with safety handrails at the sides. Scuba diving entry is a bit challenging to get in, and it can be quite dark under the pier (so bring a torch). Lots of parking available and the nearby Rocks Mornington restaurant/cafe is ideal. Toilet facilities are located nearby too.

There are not many things that can beat a summer’s day at Mornington beach and pier. Wide, clean parks, lots of benches, majestic trees, choice of piers, great cafΓ© and restaurant, and FREE PARKING! Not many of the bayside councils offer so much for so little… the piers are new, wide, clean and you can fish. Also chuck in a board walk, stone monument to Mathew Flinders and clean beaches with quaint beach boxes and you have the perfect seaside setting not far from Melbourne. On busy days there’s a Mr Whippy (remember them?!) and lots of eatery choices on the Esplanade (main street). There's a popular playground with lots of children (and pirate ship!). There are clean toilets and great views across the bay. We even saw a stingray! All-in-all great way to spend a Happy New Year’s Day, 2022!

A very expansive and open pier for walking, fishing and general local meeting spot. Beautiful open water views as far as the eye can see, plenty of parking on both the higher and lower parts of the hill. The photos speak for themselves.

Great place to visit on a still day. Picnic tables and public toilets are here and well maintained. Great spot for a walk along the shore or recreational fishing off the pier. Shore scuba diving and snorkelling also happen here. Beautiful clear water. Very little shelter from the elements so avoid on rainy or windy days.

Great location for fishing, diving or enjoying the view. Tends to be rough water if wind is blowing from north or west. Council has now introduced pay parking. 2 hours directly at the pier and 4 hours further away. Small cafe next to car park.

Serene and peaceful place with breathtaking views. It's just an hour drive from Melbourne CBD. Would definitely recommend a short road trip away from the hustle.

Most beautiful place to be at, even tho' it wasn't a sunny day, it was wonderful. Time spent with good friends made it even more precious.

A train out of Flinders St Station and a 20 minute taxi ride delivered us to a thriving, bustling Mornington on Market day. I met my former rock star, now boat building friend and we walked out to the lovely Mornington Pier. Great views over the water of Melbournes CBD. Lots of fishing and boat options. A lovely afternoon.

Mornington Peninsula is AMAZING! It took 1 hour and 15 minutes from Melbourne CBD to get there. We went to the pier. There was two hour parking free of charge near the pier and we had an amazing time looking at the breathtaking views of the sea. You could even take a fishing charter tours across the water. There were shopping stores galore. There were many places for kids to play such as a park we went to which where the kids had loads of fun. There was so many places to have a snack and you could happily spend your day. Make sure to bring warm clothes in winter because it usually colder there. It is not isolated and close to many suburbs so it is easy to get around to different places quickly. Overall, it was a great place to VISIT! :πŸ˜€πŸ˜

Gorgeous beach, cafe, restaurant large pier to walk & several walking tracks along top of cliff, you can hire a boat or sup or just sit with a picnic or fish & chips. Huge park with kids playground at top of hill.

It's for the boats, not an ideal place for swimming. However, the sunset is awesome from the parking area up high.

Great spot to visit to see the ocean and a good overview of Mornington. There are spots to eat, a pier to walk down, and free parking. If you want to walk around Mornington, this is also a good base to park and explore.
