The
first
red
flag
should
have
been
when
I
came
in
for
a
strep
test
and
they
FORGOT
about
me
in
the
exam
rooms,
but
apparently
I
just
don't
learn.
I
went
to
this
urgent
care
for
Pre-Op
clearance
in
the
beginning
of
November
for
a
nasopharyengeal
biopsy/adenoidectomy
that
was
scheduled
for
Nov
16.
This
surgery
was
scheduled
quickly
due
to
the
nature
of
the
procedure,
my
doctor
wanted
to
ensure
a
lump
he
found
in
my
nasopharynx
was
benign.
Unfortunately,
I
managed
to
catch
pink
eye
in
early
November
and
wanted
to
wait
to
go
in
to
get
my
bloodwork
done
(CBC
and
PTT)
until
the
infection
had
cleared.
I
went
in
on
Wednesday
Nov
8th
for
my
clearance
and
they
drew
blood
as
well
as
performed
an
EKG,
which
was
not
ordered
by
my
doctor
but
they
did
it
"since
I
was
there"
anyway.
I
received
my
bloodwork
results
back
on
Friday,
11/10
at
6:54am,
which
showed
slightly
elevated
white
blood
cell
counts
due
to
the
recent
infection.
I
heard
nothing
from
them
so
I
assumed
it
was
not
a
concern
since
they
were
very
very
close
to
the
normal
range.
They
called
me
back
MONDAY
night
at
7:40pm
(less
than
48
hours
before
the
deadline
for
clearance
which
was
Weds
at
3pm)
to
inform
me
they
not
only
wanted
to
redo
the
CBC
(which
I
completely
understand,
however
when
I
asked
why,
the
woman
on
the
phone
said
she
wasn't
sure
and
it
probably
just
didn't
go
through?
which
made
no
sense
to
me
as
I
had
already
received
my
results)
and
that
they
ALSO
wanted
to
perform
a
urinalysis
(again,
which
I
understand
is
normal
for
pre-op
clearance)
AS
WELL
AS
a
chest
x-ray.
When
I
asked
why
these
other
tests
were
not
completed
when
I
was
there
for
my
initial
pre-op
appointment,
the
woman
on
the
phone
could
not
give
me
an
answer
and
just
said
that's
what
the
PA
had
ordered.
I
told
her
I
would
be
able
to
come
in
the
following
afternoon
after
work.
Tuesday
morning,
my
doctor's
office
called
me
inquiring
about
the
status
of
my
pre-op
clearance
and
I
explained
the
situation
to
them.
They
agreed
it
was
strange
and
that
they
only
needed
the
CBC
and
PTT
and
informed
me
they
needed
the
clearance
by
the
next
day
at
3pm.
I
called
the
Urgent
Care
and
informed
them
of
the
deadline
and
they
assured
me
they
would
have
my
clearance
letter
by
then.
I
told
them
I
did
not
want
to
do
the
xray
as
I
didn't
want
to
pay
for
it
and
my
doctor
had
not
ordered
one
and
they
basically
told
me
tough
luck.
I
went
in
that
afternoon
and
completed
all
of
my
tests
as
well
as
reminded
them
when
the
clearance
deadline
was.
The
next
morning,
I
called
the
Urgent
Care
and
asked
for
a
status
update
to
which
they
basically
said
it'll
be
done
when
it's
done.
When
my
doctor's
office
called
me
AGAIN
asking
about
the
clearance
(which
is
now
due
3pm
that
day),
I
told
them
the
Urgent
Care
had
promised
they'd
have
everything
over
to
them
by
the
deadline.
The
lovely
woman
at
my
doctor's
office
then
called
the
Urgent
Care
to
see
if
she
could
get
an
update
and
would
let
me
know
what
they
said.
She
called
me
back
and
told
me
that
the
staff
at
the
Urgent
Care
had
been
nasty
to
her,
telling
her
that
I
had
only
come
in
the
day
before
for
my
bloodwork
and
it
probably
wouldn't
be
ready
for
the
deadline.
She
reminded
them
I
had
been
in
a
week
prior
and
I
only
returned
on
Tuesday
because
they
asked
me
to
come
back
in
Monday
night.
She
told
the
Urgent
Care
that
without
the
clearance,
they
would
have
to
reschedule
the
surgery
to
which
the
woman
at
the
Urgent
Care
replied
"well
then
just
reschedule
it"
which
I
find
extremely
unprofessional.
Luckily,
my
doctor's
office
was
able
to
retrieve
the
results
for
the
two
tests
they
had
actually
ordered
and
I
was
able
to
get
my
pre-op
clearance.
My
surgery
took
place
as
scheduled
on
Nov
16th
and,
luckily,
my
mass
was
benign
and
my
quality
of
life
has
improved
significantly!
The
TRUE
icing
on
the
cake
is
that
I
received
my
CBC
panel
back
on
Friday
Nov
17,
the
day
AFTER
my
surgery
was
scheduled
and
two
full
days
after
the
clearance
deadline
I
was
promised
they
would
meet.
This
Urgent
Care
is
unprofessional
and
does
not
prioritize
patient
care.
DO
NOT
GO
HERE!
