I hated to even give one star. I know a thing or two about customer service. I order some coral and blue legged hermit crabs 12 days ago. No confirmation email or nothing. I emailed and called no answer or response. I should have read the reviews first and I would have not ordered from them. You learn your lesson. BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAUDULENT SITE.

Never want to order anything from here again. my biggest issue with this place was when I went on the site, they have many specials with free shipping but when you order it doesn't tell you what free shipping actually means(how long or via what carrier) and then it doesn't have the options for which shipping method you would like. then after you order all you get is a confirmation about the product and no shipping info. then if you try to call no answer even if you leave a voicemail, and no email back to you eithet if you email them. so then I went on the site and found out on a separate part that free shipping means regular USPS standard mail which by the time your coral comes in, it's already dead. which if you try to ask for money back according to the site only gives you a certain percent store credit back. So in all no thanks ever again.

Yep I should have read the reviews on the scamming business. Ten days ago I ordered the coral. Never heard another word from them. Today I emailed them and cancelled order with a demand they refund my debit. Let's see how this plays out. Stay tuned for update on how this scam plays out.

I have been a customer since the start. Hooked On Reefs has the best selection of saltwater fish, coral, and supplies. The owner Fred is very skilled and knowledgeable and he has been maintenancing my tank for years. I am very satisfied with the quality of service I have received.

I thought the price was too good to be true. My cleanup crew arrived today and are actively running around my tank as we speak. Thanks and I'm sorry I ever doubted you. PS did I mention shipping was free and I live on the other side of the country? I'll be back when I need something else.

Placed an order and received confirmation with order number attached but never received a tracking number. Called and emailed a week later asking for tracking information with no response. Called and emailed another week later with no response then misteriously received a refund for my order. Don't do business with these shady people.

Awesome experience ordering from “Hooked on Reef” ordered a clean up crew for my new 180 gallon. Great communication via text which is was my preference while I worked during the day. A portion of my initial order was back ordered. Received the back ordered crabs a week after initial order. Will order again soon once my new tank is fully established. Highly recommended ordering from them!

Ordered a clean up crew about a month ago and have not gotten any sort of confirmation email for them being shipped. I’ve called multiple times and have given them multiple emails with absolutely no response. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Placed an order march 27th, still haven't a word about it. Tried calling 4 or 5 times with no answer or call back. Would not recommend. Zero communication and have a feeling I'm out the 40 bucks for a clean up crew.

All the snails arrived dead and after millions phone calls to 3/4different phone number, email and text message I finally get old to the shop after I left a voicemail ( they call me back just because I said that I had a question for make an order), I explained the situation about the dead snails and the TERRIBLE condition condition of the shipping ( with pictures), and his response was: Okay! What’s your order number??? I will take a look at the email that you sent me and I will email you back. After the phone call he NEVER CAL ME BACK OR SEND ME AN EMAIL. Terrible customer service, terrible shop, all was terrible. I’m about to force the reimbursement from my bank. DONT BUY FROM THIS STORE

First time dealing with this company. Ordered some snails over a week ago. Emailed them on Monday to find out when they would ship. No response. Emailed again on Wednesday, no response. It's now Friday and in a few days will be two weeks since my order was placed and I have not gotten a single response as to where my order is and when it will ship. Good thing I opted to not spend that much with this company starting out. My advice run away and don't order from them. I know I will not be doing business again.

I really try to avoid leaving poor reviews on small businesses and especially the reefing community… but I had placed an overnight shipping order under the impression from the website that if you purchase overnight shipping anything DOA will be refunded with proof of images and reaching out to the company. After all of my animals arrived dead on arrival I attempted multiple times to reach out to hooked on reefs to be refunded the money promised with no response whatsoever. If I had known this would be the case I simply would not have ordered. I would just like this to be resolved as this problem happened in February and it is now April.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY- Ordered some snails and hermits by looking at their pictures on their website. 90% of the blue hermits are literally the size of 1 grain of rice. So small I can't even tell if they are blue legs.. Astrea snails, 2 can fit on 1 dime. Ridiculous. Entire shipment packed in wet paper towels and arrived DOA. Even if the hermits lived and grow how would they find a replacement shell. At this size how much algae could they possibly eat to help with algae control.did I mention- DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, . Wish I could attach a picture.

Order was delivered in cold Michigan weather without notification. So, it sat on my porch until I got home from work. Part of order seemed lifeless. Contacted owner who wanted pictures, which were provided immediately. Followed up with 2 emails. Never heard from anyone. Would not recommend.

They installed my aquarium plumbing, and the next day sprung a leak. Called and sent them a video, they said they will call me when in the area. The leak turned into a pouring waterfall. I never heard back from them, called and never received a return phone call. Called my local LFS and they came to fix it. The installer installed the bulk heads with the O-rings on the dry side. My LFS installer stated a mistake like this is from someone that has no clue on what they are doing. That's a mistake not even a rookie can do maybe on one but all three bulkheads. It's been over a month and still no call back. Will never utilize them for anything again or recommend them.

I placed an order spent $140 on clean up crew received 2 weeks later EVERYTHING was dead not packaged properly for shipping just threw things in plastic bags boxed it and shipped them in 30 degree weather. No Styrofoam box no heat packs nothing. Tried to contact for my partial refund that their website talks about but no answer so far. I wish I would have read the reviews before ordering I was contacted by hooked on reefs they apologized for the order being dead and said that they would resend and make it right. I personally ask them to hold off because we had cold weather coming in and I didn’t want to take a chance of loosing another order he was happy to hold off and wait till I contacted him when the weather was right. I contacted them this week and they are shipping the new order out this week. I’m not sure why they didn’t get the email I sent but technology is not perfect they did reach out to me to make it right I will order from them again.

My experience with Hooked on Reefs has been excellent! Fred has reestablished my tank, provided me with good healthy fish and also maintains my tank. Fred is a low key and very responsive. If I ever have a question or a problem he always gets back to me.Even on weekends. He's my guy!!

Order never shipped. No response to emails. Asked for refund. No answer. I'm going to challenge the charge on my card next. Absolutely do not donate your money to these folks because that's what you'll be doing. Giving them your money for no goods.
