My daughter and I was visiting Florida ( Sarasota). The first day a friend took us there. The buffet was incredible ! Very delicious! My daughter really enjoyed and loved the food that she asked me to take her back again the same week. Wow! The services was awesome! The food was so delicious! It was our favorite restaurant . I wish they have the same restaurant around where we live 😕. Absolutely recommend ! 100%

This is by far the best Indian food in Sarasota! The atmosphere is light and modernized. The menu has all of the classics but also a refreshing new take on dishes and flavors! Cannot wait to come back!

I will start with the positives. The restaurant is new and clean and they have a beautiful bar area. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The fresh baked naan was excellent. I agree with others that the prices were quite high, especially for lunch which is when we came. We chose to do the buffet for $20 pp. Out of 7 dishes offered, 4 were vegetarian. The other 3 were chicken and we felt many of them tasted and looked the same. There was no lamb, shrimp or any seafood. Not even tandoori chicken. Needless to say we were disappointed. I would return to try some other entrees but the prices need to come down.

An Authentic Indian Culinary Journey at Siesta Beach's Hidden Gem Upon leaving the warm, sandy embrace of Siesta Beach, my dining companion and I ventured to a local Indian fine cuisine restaurant, eager to delve into the aromatic and flavourful world of South Asian cuisine. Our menu choices were ambitious, as we settled on Malai Kofta and Mysore Masala Dosa. The Malai Kofta, a testament to North Indian culinary excellence, was delicious to the core. The velvety koftas, cradling a treasure of dried fruits and nuts within, were nestled in a rich, creamy sauce. The sauce, an amalgamation of tomatoes, cream, and a symphony of Indian spices, had us scooping up every last morsel with the warm, fluffy naan bread that accompanied the dish. Our South Indian selection, the Mysore Masala Dosa, however, started on a less harmonious note. The dosa itself, typically a delicately crispy crepe made from a fermented rice and lentil batter, was unfortunately a tad overcooked. Its slightly burned exterior resulted in a harder texture than the customary light, crisp exterior and soft, fluffy interior that dosa enthusiasts, including ourselves, crave. Our experience was not to be marred by this small hiccup, however. A gentleman named Alex(later found put he was one of the owner), whose attentiveness and dedication embodied the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction, approached us to inquire about our dining experience. Upon expressing our sentiments regarding the dosa, Alex promptly took ownership of the situation. Displaying exemplary customer service, he ensured a replacement was swiftly prepared and brought to our table. The new Mysore Masala Dosa was a stark contrast to its predecessor. Its golden, crispy exterior encased a spicy red chutney and a wonderfully savory potato and onion filling. The dosa's textural and flavourful complexities danced on our taste buds, creating a symphony of taste that was a fitting tribute to the culinary traditions of Mysore. In conclusion, our dining experience at this Indian fine cuisine restaurant was largely a savory sonnet of flavors, and an authentic representation of the diverse and sophisticated Indian culinary scene. The slight falter with the initial dosa preparation was promptly rectified, a testament to the restaurant's dedication to its patrons. Special gratitude is extended to Alex, who truly went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of stellar. His commitment to customer satisfaction transformed a minor setback into a memorable dining experience, underlining the importance of personal touch in the hospitality industry. If you find yourself strolling off the sun-kissed beaches of Siesta, with a yearning for spices and flavors that transport you to the heart of India, this restaurant should be your next stop. Remember to ask for Alex, and rest assured that your dining experience will be in the most capable hands.

Clean and airy, with amazing food. We needed it here, a superb Indian food place, we only hope not to have to book 1 month in advance going forward! It also has an upper floor with terrace, sofas and tables, good for private events.

This place has great food and the staff are very kind and helpful. The food was exquisite and full of flavor. We came for our 6yr anniversary, but we didn't let that known until our waiter asked if the occasion was in celebration of anything. He gave us a free dessert that we enjoyed! We will definitely be back for more with friends and family. Thank you 🙏🏾❤️

Went with a group of friends for a birthday and were impressed by the huge menu. Our server was helpful helping us choose and the food was amazing! Best Indian food I've had. It was a Sunday night and they were really busy. Our food was hot and served in a decent time after our appetizers. I would recommend they dim the lighting it was very bright and also work needs to be done on the drink menu. They just got their liquor license days ago and if we added liquor to the drink menu the cocktails would have been $17! We thought that was high so we switched to wine which was reasonable and very good. The food is the star here tho so make sure you check this place out! The manager and chef came to speak to us which was a nice touch. They had trouble splitting checks for us but all in all in was a great experience!

What a great experience all around. The server was super kind and attentive. For a brand new spot, the service was great. The food was also GREAT. We had appetizers, mains and a very unique dessert. One of the owners came out to ask about our experience as we were wrapping up dinner and mentioned the chef along with their journey of opening. Everyone seemed receptive to feedback. Our main suggestion would be a bit on the decor / lighting ( mentioned below in a very accurate yet delicate review ). It would be nice to tone down the lights a bit into the evening and have more of a soft feel on the decor. The building is iconic and it seems there is big plans in the works with the space!! Events, full liquor license and a second floor with a patio soon to come. Sarasota needs more event spaces- the upstairs will be stellar! Was additionally impressed with the business of the restaurant just two weeks after opening and minimal advertising yet! Impressive. We will be back.

Indian food, I could take it or leave it... until tonight, when my friends took me to Tumeric Indian Bar and Grill in Sarasota, Florida. From the minute we walked in the door I was quite impressed! We were greeted with a big smile by the owner and his wife and seated at a table outside. Our waiter Allwyn was the best! He was friendly and prompt and very helpful in helping us decide what to order. He explained the various dishes that we had asked about. Everything that we ordered was unbelievably delicious. This was an exceptional experience, and I am now a big fan of Indian food, thanks to Tumeric!!

Decided to stop in on a whim and am SO HAPPY we did. Grace was our server and she was FANTASTIC! She offered her opinion on what the best dishes were, helped us through the ordering process and kept our drinks full. The food was amazing - crispy, flavorful samosa with delicious chickpeas, spiced and fried cauliflower bites with added yogurt sauce. The paneer naan was perfect, the butter and garlic naan were spot on. Didn't love the onion naan, but that was our taste preference, not their fault. Our three dishes were perfect and we plan to go back soon. 10/10!!

South indian items — sambar, idli , dosa were superb. Need to improve on white chatni given. Thanks to South indian cook “Sudarshan sir” for the high quality sambar. Special call out to him. Overall nice looking restaurant and smiling servers. Bringing down stars — based on Prices of Masala dosa and plate of idli/vada. Prices shows “Greed” of owners IMHO. I have been living in USA for more than a decade, but never paid 18$ for Masala dosa and 14$ for 2 idlis and 2 small vadas. Please note owners, not all want to eat vadas.

We had the pleasure of dining at Turmeric for the first time last night and the experience was excellent from beginning to end! The entire staff was absolutely amazing! The food was authentic and SO delicious! The interior very clean and modern. We will definitely be going back again for seconds;) Our server Sahil was very attentive and friendly. And we were even greeted at the end of our meal by Guru, the head chef. Such a nice personal touch, which many restaurants no longer do anymore. I strongly recommend everyone that loves Indian food to check out this little gem of a restaurant located in the Rosemary District of downtown. You will not be disappointed!!

Six people all ordered different dishes for lunch and everyone loved their food. The Mumtay mocktail was excellent. We all had leftovers as there was plenty of food. Our server Christain was also great, and the place looks beautiful with the Turmeric colored decor. We're happy to finally have a GOOD Indian restaurant in Sarasota and will definitely be back!

Once again we forgot to take photos. Actually, when the food arrive we were enthralled with the vivid colors of the entrees, the alluring aroma wafting toward us, and the presentation. We dug in. My paneer came in a beautiful orange-brown curry sauce. The most delicious I’ve ever tasted. The paneer was fresh (don’t let the menu put you off - it is not cottage cheese but house-made squares of white cheese). Served with perfect long grain rice. My dinner partners enjoys their meals as much as I did. Can’t wait to return to try another dish!

The staff and service was excellent. They did have both indoor and outdoor dining which I love but as far as atmosphere…none. Clean but not interesting. As far as the food goes I was disappointed with the garlic Naan, not enough garlic for my taste, the vegetable spring rolls were excellent as well as the sauce. We asked for a sampling of the other sauces and all were really good. The aloo gobi, which you know I try at every Indian restaurant, had an excellent flavor, (we ordered medium spicy), however was a little on the dry side. Overall a nice experience.

This was the second time my companion ate there and my first. It’s a large place and this was a Wednesday night right at dinner time. Service was constant. I swear we must’ve been checked maybe seven or eight times By four different servers, and possibly management In my picture is pakora assortment for $16 that is on the appetizer menu. It is a lot of food. I don’t generally eat fried food, so I’m really not a good one to ask about this, but I enjoyed poking them into the 3 different sauces. We also shared the garlic nan. It was good, six dollars. My companion had a chicken korma oops tikka? It was boneless that I found delicious in a small terrine, but it was really a lot of food when we spread it out and another vegetable dish. We had a lot of leftovers There were two little terrines of rice that accompanied these dishes, one of which we didn’t touch I had a “small “Indian beer, which was the normal size of a beer. The mood is upbeat, and the corner property is in a great location on coconut and has parking and it’s a beautiful building.

Great food and service! They did a fantastic job remodeling this space, which used to be a pizza joint. Beautiful clean two-level dining room or if you're inclined to watch sports, hang out in the modern bar with full liquor. The food was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed two Indian desserts, a fig ice cream and an orange creamy thing served inside a hollowed-out orange. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Unlike the experience of going to a restaurant on Main Street, you don't have to pay and then walk half a mile to the restaurant. On site parking is a big plus.

Pristine restaurant with delicious food. We opted for the lunch buffet which is a great deal if you like to try lots of items. Service was attentive and went out of their way to make our lunch special. One cook even made a roti in the shape of a butterfly for my daughter. Can’t wait to go back as we can’t stop thinking about our delicious meal. Thank you all so much!

The food was excellent. The decor is very plain and the bar had a sports bar feel. But it’s very clean and all the furniture is new. Christian was our server and he was super nice. We had the buffet, which had 4 types of chicke. All were very tasty and it was reasonably priced the dessert was very good also.

The food was right on spot . The buffet items though limited were delicious everything I ate was the temperature (hot) . Top notch for the keer dessert that they had. It was some of the best I had. I will definitely be returning for sure.

We came in with 17 people. They got us seated quickly. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. It was my first time there I had been wanting to dine there for almost a year. Alllwyn was an amazing server I definitely will request his service again.

I can't wait to come back! Went today with a group of 6 and we all got the buffet for lunch. Great price for a bunch of dishes that were all excellent. Clean and open seating. Good ambience. Only problem is my stomach ran out of space! Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere, nice service and tasty food. I got there right at the end of the buffet, so it took a little long for the waitor to come to the table, but Allywn was so friendly. He provided true customer service. Turmeric Indian Bar & Grill is definitely a place to visit when in Sarasota!

The food is certainly tasty and the price is reasonable for all you can eat, however having been twice now however I would rather go to other locations. On our first trip we had to request a different waiter because ours seemed out out that we had asked questions in regards to accomodations for an elderly member of our party when we had already called to make sure they would accommodate her. Refills are slow and the staff just don't seem as friendly as their regular restaurant counterparts. And while the food is tasty and they do change some of the buffet items mostly the vegetable side dishes the spice levels differed greatly between the two visits on the same item. People go out not just for the food but for the act of having someone tend to their needs. If the service can't be friendly and make you feel like your welcomed then it's not someplace I wish to return to.

Ate the third time at Turmeric last night. This is my new go to place for good Indian food. Turmeric has some amazing food - North and South Indian, and amazing cocktails and beer options. If you are looking for great Indian food, this is the place you ought to try. The seating area is very comfortable and the booths have extra privacy. I was informed that even the regular table seating is being converted to booths, so greater seating privacy is on the way. The serving staff is not a luck of the draw, rather every server is just plain superb and friendly. The servers take time to explain the menu and advise on spice level of every dish. They provide free fast Wi-Fi and the restroom services are well maintained. Ample parking is available most of the time. Friday and Saturday nights do get busy, so make sure to use Open Table for making reservations here. The restaurant is close to the water, so makes for a nice ambience for a walk after dinner. As we all know Sarasota is known for beautiful sunsets, making post dinner walks even more enjoyable.

I was craving Indian food and had heard good things about this relatively new restaurant. It’s in an odd location near the traffic circle for the van Wezel but, the interior looks new and clean. I had ordered takeout to be ready for 5 o’clock. I got there just at five and I told group another 10 to 15 minute wait. No big problem so I went to the bar and got an ice cold Stella Artois. They brought the food out to me when it was ready. It was a pleasant experience. The restaurant is bright and cheery. They brought the food out to me when it was ready. It was a pleasant experience. My wife likes the tandoori chicken and the saag paneer. I love the lamb tikka masala. We got butter naan and pakoras. We have eaten at Indian restaurants with people from India, who could tell us whether the food was authentic or not. This place ranks right up with the best. Overall, I would write this place very good and intend to come back.

Came here for their lunch buffet. Terrific! I would highly recommend trying this newer Indian restaurant. Very cool building as well, with an upstairs they rent out for parties. Outdoor seating available.

We just returned from our second visit to this amazing restaurant. We celebrated dual birthdays three days ago and loved the food so much, returned with a larger group this afternoon and had another fabulous experience. The restaurant is lively and inviting. The wait staff is friendly and very helpful with the menu. There was a young baby in the group and he was welcomed. And then there is the food.... so delicious! What a wonderful addition to our community.

I absolutely loved the entire experience. They have a few specialty drinks and the two we tried were wonderful. Our server, Allwin(?) was kind, knowledgeable and attentive. The serving staff and bar staff worked together seamlessly to ensure everything was timely. It is decorated simply and is very clean. The samosas were perfect, as was the butter chicken. On our way out we spoke to the manager (perhaps owner) and he was friendly and very interested in taking a minute to chat with us. This is so close to our home and we are definitely going to be regulars.

Wow!!!! They had catered my wedding when they were Rasoi restaurant but we came to their new location. The food was better than excellent and is probably the best Indian I’ve ever had. Alex, Raj and even Guru came out to greet my wife and I—- with Guru (a magnificent chef) talking to us about how he made the best Masala Dosa in the world! Go here it’s worth every penny and the experience!
