Not as good as I thought. Students can re-take tests and assignments so they don't put the effort needed to do well on the first try. The principal loves to meet with sponsors but when parents need to speak to him he is always "busy." There are some good teachers but many of them lack experience and don't teach the material thoroughly so students don't do well on the state exams. Most of the negative reviews have been deleted.

I have only been at this school for around two quarters, and yet I am already at home here. First of all, I'd like to address a common misconception about arts schools. It does not mean the academics are poor. In fact, the academics, when competent teachers are involved, are stellar! The only difference is that the electives are very creative and are taught by skilled professionals. Furthermore, when students show academic promise, they may be recommended for a more advanced study. I am absolutely in love with the ideologies and practices of the teachers of this school, aside from the ones involved in the recent controversy. The only cons I have are mostly associated with the poor administration and lack of parent-to-administration contact. I would like a PTA so there might be more of a correspondence between the teachers and the staff. Also, the principal in his current state is less mature than the majority of the students and is not fit to be in charge. Some of the dress code policies are simply ridiculous, but still the good out ways the bad.

I was in this school for 2 years let me just say it was not a good school in my opinion! The administration is never available to talk to! Ms.Torres is always in a bad mood and treats you horrible whenever you need her help! I went two times for some questions and I left crying because of how she treated me! Some teachers are amazing but some don’t care you! It is a really boring high school experience that I wouldn’t recommend!!

I had extremely high expectations for this school and being completely honest it wasn't really anything near what i had hopes for. The kids are extremely rude but i'm sure that it will be the same at any other school. Some teachers are amazing but others don't do their job and they also don't know much about the topic they teach! Most of them do but not all of them. The school doesn't care. Most of the teachers don't have a passion for teaching which is such a bad influence on the students. Most teachers are only there for the money and they admit it. At previous school i wanted to learn and come to school everyday but since i have come here i have been getting at least 2 B's every grading period. Along with that this school is very inappropriate. I won't go into full detail in that, let's just say it makes me feel uncomfortable and teaches me certain things that i SHOULD NOT know. Another thing about this school that makes me feel uncomfortable is how unsafe it is. The gates are always open and we have PE in the garage. Kids escape all the time and people don't do anything about our coach is always on the phone and the security guards are always asleep. Once, a kid escaped and brought a friend of hers back, when she got back they were both vaping! There are other kids that commit suicide, and everyone is cutting themselves, it's a terrible and extremely negative atmosphere. The next reason why i don't recommend this school is that the principal doesn't care all that much. I once had a report that i had addressed to the school (they have no counsulor) and they never tried to fix the situation. Every day i would go to the office and they were always busy. Therefore, the solution never solved the problem so i had to go to the cops and i was in a very unsafe position. Mind you the person who caused the mess, has gotten into so many fights with kids it's insane and unbearable. The only thing i like about this school is the diversity of culture and certain teachers like Mrs. Gordon, Mr. Sanchez and Mr. Moreno

Where to begin. Just read previous reviews cautiously and filter the principal’s groupies. There is a strong correlation with what happened at Homestead and now Wynwood. Mr. De la Rosa is THE most arrogant self centered principal I have met and tried to converse with ever for the betterment of the environment as my kids attend wynwood location but it is totally worthless. Be wary, ask questions and debate he is not there for the arts at all but exclusively for the money although have to admit he projects himself quite well. He highly dislike to be questioned and if you do he will make your kids school life lets say a bit challenging. A wolf under sheep cover. Be cautious with your kids and find a better option. Luckily I moved my kids to a better school and this review was long over do.

I really love this school not only are the teachers amazing but the students are too ! This is really the best schools I've ever been to. I'm in my junior year of highschool and i must say I've been on some pretty bad situations at my previous schools. But this school feels like another home ! I love it.

Caring teachers, amazing theater, music, art, photography exhibitions and performances. Impressive student work all around. Great public charter school in the heart of the design district.
