😠 The first time we've ordered a few weeks ago, the food was absolutely brilliant. Ordered again today and the chips were raw, curry was most likely re-heated and the coke is almost expired and tastes like it already expired. Very disappointed as it wasn't a cheap meal and to go from the first amazing... People often mention service, staff, ordered, restaurant, curry, friendly, amazing, good, order, meal,

Very bad experience. The biriyani we ordered didn't had any salt content. Absolutely no taste. Tikka was just coated with food colour and was not hot. Will never order again from here.

Was sent a chicken chi goa curry instead of vegetarian. Was told not their problem it was Just Eat. To get a refund from Just Eat. After second phone call, I was told I could drive to pick up another meal. I dont have access to transport at the moment. Asked them to deliver, he said no. The restaurant packed the meal, the receipt stated VEGETARIAN, but the manager insisted that it was a mistake but continued to blame Just Eat. I am very disappointed and will never use this restaurant again

Great food but prices have gone through the roof - over 40%+ in the last year and over +54% since COVID. Which has dramatically reduced our custom. NB ref owner’s comments below I can’t remember which dishes I checked last time but checking again with 5 items came out at 38.8% increase. 40% near as damn it.

I ordered via Uber Eats and the restaurant missedtge mushroom rice, I rang them and they said there was nothing they could do, how can you have a curry without the rice? Food was stone cold when it arrived, all.in all very poor service and I'd recommend against using them 😥

This place has gone downhill since I was last here. What a shame been coming here 20 years. New management I guess. Extremely cold restaurant more of a takeaway feel to it now. Constant stream of uber eats riders trampling through the restaurant. Place looks scruffy needs a coat of paint. Old oil filled radiator did nothing to warm us up. Cold poppadoms didn’t help. Waiter didn’t know what bottled beer they had. None apparently. Food was ok but I won’t be back.

Should be somewhere to avoided. I ordered a chutney platter and thought I’d order an extra popadom only got the extra one I ordered crushed and burned so I’ve got a lot of pots of stuff with nothing to do with. The mixed kebab starter is 2 onion bajis a kofta and a samosa. stuffed mushrooms don’t know when they were cooked but wasn’t within in the last 2 days I can assure you. All this before I’ve even tasted the curry

Good service, tasty food and good portions. However, we ordered poppadoms to start which were brought with a few small dishes of chutneys etc (not ordered). We thought this was standard but we were charged £3.50 for it at the end! They took it away after the first course which if we had known we were paying for it we would have requested it back. They should be more upfront about bringing things to the table if you haven't ordered them.

The best indian food in liverpool? This was their idea of a shami kebab. The absolute worst desi food I have ever had.

1st I called to place a takeaway order for delivery but was rudely told I had to do so via just eat, Deliveroo or Uber eats, I explained I was only visiting Liverpool and didn’t have access to those apps. No we cannot take your order over the phone I was rudely told again. I contacted my brother in law who agreed to pick up the order for me. Food arrived quickly and was very hot disappointed however to see that there was no rice with any of the dishes. How can you spend £45.09 on curries with no sides? The King prawn curry was awesome, however the lamb was very tough and the chicken tikka starter was very salty, also even though they advertise as closing at 11pm they would not answer their phone when I tried calling at 10.40pm. Not impressed

It was nice to speak to the waiter and ensure I was putting together a meal that made sense. The flavours were excellent and the portion sizes on the large size.

Had a wonderful time eating here with my little fussy eater. The service was fantastic from start to end, super friendly & helpful when I was unsure what to order. Food arrived quickly and was very flavourable and exceeded my expectations. Best Korma i've ever had and even my fussy eater was very impressed with his nuggets. Will definitely be eating here again! Highly recommend!

disappointed. really really runny curry. was more like a soup. the danask was supposed to have lentils in, which should make it thick but both curries were watery. rice was freezing

Amazing food and service. Visiting from Ireland to see our daughter who unfortunately contracted Covid. She only lives doors away so we got her a take away and delivered it to her door. She was as happy as we were. Thank you.

The best proper curry house in Liverpool. So many nice, varied curries on the menu, no relying on stock sauces. The staff are really friendly, service is quick and the prices are good. Favourites are the green chicken from Goa and the puri bread, but I like everything I've tried here.

Dined here on Saturday 4th September 2021 with a party of 8 - the food, service and attentive behaviour of the the team was second to none - nothing was too much trouble - well done guys 👍🏻👍🏻

Be warned, this isn't a proper Indian restaurant. No one will sit you down or give you a menu. When eventually they take your order whilst your sat down, your order will be in the queue with all the Just eat and walk in takeaway orders. So if its busy you'll be waiting a LONG time, I came for a quick meal, just myself, I literally waited 1:10hrs then my starter came before my Poppadoms. Throughout this wait, scores of delivery drivers walked past me collecting food. The food was not authentic and bland. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

OMG never enjoyed asian food so much! Here’s me thinking that it was the same as Indian but the food turned out to be even better and the staff are very professional. Good place to take your loved one 😍. 7/10 on the music. Definitely will be coming back

The food is among the better end of Indian restaurants in Liverpool (but the bar is very low). However, this recent policy of no sit down bookings (or walk-ins) after 8.45 is frankly ridiculous, and an insult to long standing customers.

A pretty amazing place for the service and the curry, but the naan was a bit disappointing.

  • 1/5 michael d. 1 year ago on Google
Very bad, everything bland and watery, rice overcooked and the chicken managed to be dry and overcooked on the outside but completely pink and raw in the middle

  • 5/5 jahnaya 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely unreal, food was amazing....service & food was 10 star ! And I am not being dramatic! My daughter was having a really bad melt down & I couldn't of asked for better understanding staff this restaurant is lovely, friendly & extremely professional also very helpful given my situation thank you so much ❤ highly recommended. Manager Muhammad ( tahmed ) amazing person. 🙂

Probably the worst curry I’ve ever had, the chicken was bland dry and cold and the sauce was so watery and runny and actually tasted bad. Checked the food hygiene rating and saw it was a 2?! absolutely gross would not reccomend- especially considering it isn’t cheap

We were at Light of Bengal last night (New Years Eve) for a meal. It was extremely busy but we were allocated a table even though we'd not been able to book beforehand. The atmosphere was really good and despite the staff clearly being run off their feet we were well looked after. We had starters, sides, and a main dish. All were really nice. Portions were a good size too. In fact, we had ordered a garlic and cheese naan but it never arrived. An understandable oversight given how busy it was at the time, but we really couldn't have fitted it in anyway, given how full we were. The cost of that was removed from the bill. All in all it was a lovely night. Good atmosphere, staff and food. Thanks, Light of Bengal.
