Message left on my phone by Katy. Blood test results were white blood cells over the range. Worried as my mum had cancer. Rang back asked for gp appointment or to speak to Katyas she left me a message to call the surgery. Receptionist would not let me speak to Katy or a Gp. Receptionist asked what was wrong when I called? She Insisted thst I needed a pharmacist. They do not work together. The management is not good and it is a let down. Needs improving and when complaints are made the doctors do not get to know. Not happy. Was here for 5 years. Moved.

My parents of 85 have tried to get an appointment for my father who is having blackouts. They called and then went round in person at the beginning of April to be told the earliest they could see the doctor was in May!!! Are others receiving this sort of service? I'm absolutely astonished that this is the priority they put on elderly and vulnerable people needing help.

    • Update of my review 09/01/2022 I’ve deleted previous comments. • Update of my review 14/09/ 2023 So I deleted my first complaint as my elderly relative who had been mistreated, passed away However now I editing my review for the second time. My mother in law (76 years old) has been in a terrible way since last October (2022). For months, and in particular from April (2023) onwards, she has tried in vain to get an appointment to see, yes physically see, face to bloody face, a doctor. She’s constantly been dismissed, she needs to phone at 8am. And wait and wait and wait to finally get through inky to be told there’s nothing available try again next day or wait weeks for an appointment She prefers certain doctors but by this point she didn’t care. She didn’t want a damn phone appt she needed to be seen. Yet again another person of a certain age- patronised and ignored. Spoken to in a condescending manner. Receives a letter from the manager apologising but then not accepting accountability but happy to blame it on the admin/ reception staff. They are not medically qualified or liable. The doctors are. Then and I quote ‘ to do you a favour’ she was booked an appt for a week ahead. Then cancelled again and delayed another week. No care. No sympathy. Nothing. Now, after our local MP Cat Smith intervened she finally got an appointment. GP realised she needed an urgent X-ray. This led to an urgent CT scan. This led to a Stage 4 diagnosis of Lung cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes and adrenal glands. She was justified to have been worried and anxious. She was justified in needing to see a doctor urgently. This medical centre are negligent. I’ve seen this first hand with numerous people over a certain age. They’re ignored. Patronised. Spoken to with such indignity and in a condescending manner. Met with a defensive ‘ it’s not my fault don’t blame me’ attitude. Please if you are experiencing the same kind of treatment, whatever your age, please persevere. Your health is your priority even if it’s not theirs. Contact Cat Smith. Her team are fantastic. The doctors and management here need to be held accountable for their gross negligence * My immense thanks and praise does go to the Pharmacists and the Pharmacy team. They are wonderful and a real credit to the medical centre. They go above and beyond and are always professional and polite. Although I’ve only awarded 1 star to the medical centre, the pharmacy team deliver a 5 star service. So to them THANK YOU. ** Another special thanks and appreciation to Doctor Stella. I hope you remain a permanent feature here. You are professional, friendly and respectful and my experience with you for my health issues was flawless. If only there were more like this wonderful lady

This has to be the worst gp surgery in the country. Receptionists think they are medically trained to overrule senior doctors and nurses from hospitals. Sit waiting for 45 minutes for an appointment with absolutely no-one else in the surgery. I would advise anyone who is a patient at this disgrace of a surgery to either complain taking the complaint out of the surgery to professional people. The gp partners at this surgery are fully aware how pathetic this surgery is yet absolutely nothing gets done about the issues. I would not like to be registered with this surgery and become seriously ill or in need of a gp appointment.

Sent hear for ear syringing from Garstang Medical Centre. Absolute waste of time. Firstly its miles away! The old women doing it was hopeless. She gave it a go for about 10seconds and then said they needed more oil. I've had it done loads of times and I know it can take a bit of perseverance. Wasn't just me, the guy before me came out to the waiting room and said exactly the same thing to his wife and he also has to re book and start the processagain.

Called last Thursday for this next months repeat prescription. Told me I haven’t had my prescription since the start of April. Clearly the right hands not talking to the left. Receptionist was very helpful this morning but every other time you can tell they just don’t want to be there.

Very refreshing to have a GP who listens and communicates well. After years of being dismissed and invalidated it was a shock to feel listened to and taken seriously. Great nursing/HCA staff as well, and most of the people on reception are really nice and helpful too. Only sore point is I've had to wait 5 weeks for a "routine" appointment. That's after waiting 3 weeks twice for other appointments. In all, including blood tests, it was 4 months until I received a referral to a specialist and for treatment. I know they're overstretched but being unwell to the point I am unable to participate in my own life doesn't feel so routine to me.
