we are regulars at the Gulab and the food is always excellent and the staff are always friendly. l highly recommend this restuarent and bar.

First time here. Amazing meal. We had the set menu and the food was cooked beautifully. Staff were very attentive. We will definitely be back.

Went for a carry out meal tonight Friday 22nd July 2022. Waited 30mins with no meal being brought to me. Eventually Iasked if they could check whether indeed my meal was ready. The server went back and then arrived out with my meal, however it was cold as obviously it had been sitting ready for some time and no one had checked. I asked for my money back and was given it. However what astounded me more than anything was when I said I would never come back after this. The person who originally took the order then said "I DON'T CARE". I did say "that is what is wrong" not caring, but obviously pointless saying that to him as he OBVIOUSLY did not care. Perhaps the owner WILL CARE, because believe me I will be telling EVERYONE I KNOW never to go to these premises. You would think at this time when businesses want to retain custom and get new custom they would then employ staff who ACTUALLY want to be there and serve the customer. Never have I been anywhere and treated with such disrespect as I was tonight. Lesson learned. DO NOT ORDER OR EAT AT THE GULAB RESTAURANT. I received a reply from u ourselves saying orders were given out in order of when the order went in. This is definitely NOT THE CASE AS IF IT WAS I WOULD NOT HAVE RECEIVED A COLD MEAL. It also does not mention the RUDENESS OF YOUR STAFF MEMBER. He was extremely rude and his exact words were "I DON'T CARE IF YOU COME BACK". I am more than happy to speak with you personally as I DO NOT BELIEVE ANY BUSINESS actually wants staff like that working for them. As stated the half hour wait was fine but a COLD MEAL being given to me IS NOT.

I have never been as disappointed in a takeaway ever!! Got set meal for 4 plus another meal, out of 8 family members 5 have been physically sick between Fri & sat!! After phoning & getting sarcasm from someone who clearly has no customer service skills, nor manners without putting me on to manager or someone of any importance basically said I have to take in doctors lines!! I did not as tobe paid sick leave but I do however want a full refund!!!!

Phoned meal as I have been ill past few days with an infection and WOW it arrived 15 minutes later and to say it was good is an understatement as it was the best meal yet plus I could taste it ty for saving our valentines dinner.xx

First time here on mother's day yes it was busy but for myself and my brother who wanted a buffet dinner it was very disappointing that there were hardly any starters on offer and the curries were mainly a sauce both myself and brother said where is the meat 🥩 I will come back again and give this place a second chance and hopefully there will be proper starters and meat in the currie dishes and the drink service is much better after ordering our drinks the waiter forgot to bring the drinks to the table and replied sorry I thought they brought your drinks over 25 min later after asking again no excuse Gulab poor service .

Never would I ever order again. Owner is rude. Tries to challenge people to a fight because you mention on about no meat in the curry. Absolute joke of a place. Never again. Better places to eat from in the area.

Ordered a takeaway for my sons 18th at the studio in Kilmarnock. Food came exactly on time piping hot and masses of everything. Couldn't fault a single thing, it was delicious

Really great experience and so kind too. We were trying to make a train and hence were on a rush. They made sure we had an expeditious yet great experience. I especially recommend the malai chicken dish as well as dairy lentil.

Ordered a chicken Jalfrezi curry and received a chicken Korma that had some peppers thrown in. Fooling no one. I was starving so I ate it.

Recently went for Buffet. Very small selection of food which was okay but honestly I've had better. Had a drink with lemonade in it, tasted like horrible cheap stuff. Can't fault the staff, but this wasn't a cheap meal and i won't be rushing back

Had a brilliant meal early on Thursday evening. Food was superb, generous portions, piping hot and very tasty. Staff were lovely, very friendly. Marked one star off for atmosphere as we were the only diners until near the end of our meal when restaurant started to fill up. Will definitely go back and very soon.

My partner drove from Paisley to get this food as he saw online that it was award winning. Was the award for 'most tasteless food'? I think the 'chef' slept with someone who can cook good Indian Cuisine and believes this is enough to be an Indian Chef. Cost almost £50. Would have had a better quality meal making toast at home. Lesson learned. Won't be back and feel sorry for future customers.

Really enjoyed our evening at the Gulab in Irvine. Delicious food (particularly the naans & the tandoori grill), lovely staff & affordable prices! Their cocktails are only £5 which is great too. I’d recommend here if looking for some good food in Irvine.

Amazing food. Ordered a lage kebab and got a kids sized one. Portions are tiny. 9 quid and still hungry.

I always love going here, it's so lovely in terms of looks and the food is absolutely delicious as always (the cheese pizza was sooo good and the cheese stretchered for so long) more the staff are very nice. If you ate ordering food it can take a while but it's worth the wait!

Shocking service. Been going to the gulag for sit in meals no problem. Had a delivery to the house (with a 2hour wait) and the first one we refused at the door. The saucves had spilled inside the bags and mixed together. Second delivery came and they had got the order wrong. By this time it was 2 and a half hours. Another phone call later we asked for a full refund and they can have the food back. My partner received some amount of grief "your chancing your arm". I had to drive there and prove it was wrong to get a full refund. Like I said been there a few times over the year but never again, not after that hassle. Called the Torranyard. 20mins later and £4 cheaper at 9.30pm we are finally sitting down to our dinner.

Very disappointed after a recommendation from a friend who actually came to my house for dinner. And out of curiosity I came on here and I notice it’s either great or poor. Not really a in between . Also as a chef I know how bad a visit from environmental health needs to be to get a needs improvement! Trust me 9/10 it’s a pass unless serious violations and poor hygiene or record’s kept. Now I’m not saying 100% sure it was because of here but the next morning I was woken by terrible stomach pains and sickness which I’m never sick and diarrhoea probably some thing to do with my job in kitchen and being over cautious with hygiene. Sorry won’t be back in a hurry

We had a lovely meal here service was done with a smile and perfect timing from the appetiser to dessert the food was delicious with excellent portion sizes the food was fresh, hot and tasty you can opt for extra mild if that's what you prefer. The drinks were also well priced The atmosphere was good and comfortable with good lighting and comfy chairs Overall we were very happy with our meal tonight and will definitely be back for more (next time I'll order my meal in extra mild lol) We can honestly highly recommend this place

We Was here few days ago , due to reviews we expect something decent ... But we are very happy , staff was absolutely helpful and lovely ... Food was fresh and very very good , korma was perfect , coffee as well and desert's... OMG :D they don't have choice like big buffets and they have only Indian food but due to this everything is fresh , and perfect in taste . We will back soon :)

Chicken in pakora and one of main meals was disgusting, it was dry, hard and yellow all the way through, do they think getting a delivery we won't notice ,obviously the chicken has been squeezed of other uses and what we got was disguised with a poor batter (not even) and rank sauce , wonder when their kitchen was last inspected !!!

Been to Gulab alot, tonight Ordered a chasni for myself and a friend chicken is dry. Not for me me Gulab. Very disappointed 😞
