A little bit disappointed big lake was closed to fishing, but the cabin was very good and clean will be booking again. booked another holiday at bowland lakes just arrived home from there, not going again found the fishing is rubbish the lakes need some big fish management something is sadly missing, been going there for at least 12years but the last 3years the fishing as deteriorated, and its not just me that as noted many fishermen agree ,sorry I like the accommodation. The park. But I go mostly for fishing sorry good buy bowland lakes. William

EDIT TO OWNER* I appreciate the comedy in this for you but for anyone that books your lodge, they will see that there are no exagerations in regards to the roads leading up to it, all it takes is some trimming and that would be solved. Also there is no excuse to have the lodge brushed quickly before an arrival. WARNING: Please before you book, make sure you have googled this location very well and don't come in large cars! You will get scratches! We were a family of 4, drove 6 hours from Dorset under the pretense that this was a place to relax and unwind. Our first mistake was that we didn't book this through Airbnb so that i can also leave a review there, the lady over the phone explicitly told us (which was our whole reason for booking this lodge) that we are allowed to BBQ and there are facilities there to do so in a organized manner. However when we arrived there was no sign of a BBQ grill or even designated spot in sight. That was not all, to our immense surprise there is NOTHING, and when i say there was nothing i mean not even a simple 20p bar of soap. For the extortionate price that we had to pay, they did not have the decency to include even towels! No hand soap, no towels, no spare toilet paper, no feeling of money well spent. There was no warning at all prior to booking that you had to bring your whole house with yourself to this lodge. Not only was the ill-equipped lodge the problem but the road getting there... it is SUPER narrow, if you have a wide car, you will get scratches! But they were nice enough to leave some dirt for us upon our arrival as you can see in the pictures. Safe to say that I'll be making sure to tell everyone to avoid this trap and please just book elsewhere. The little pond/lake was nice but that is it.

We stayed in premium Lodge 7, the Lodge was absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated, spotless and everything needed was already there. The site was beautiful, well maintained and tranquil. We are looking Forward to returning and hoping that the fishing is a bit more successful next time

Went here is August last year, really nice place lovely people and a great stock of carp, caught 12 carp on our stay all between 5lb to 10lb, at the end of my stay I did hook onto a huge carp but it broke me off after a long fight, coming here again in July for another session

fished Tuesday 20th March. excellent days fishing caught fish all day. i had roach, skimmers,beam and a tench. bait wise I caught on pinkies 4 mm pellet and punched meat

2 night stay. Caravan clean and tidy. Bed very comfy. No complaints from us will be returning.

I never explored this place as much as I would have liked, only a pitstop unfortunately. Still 5 ⭐'s for its natural beauty

If you're really into fishing this is the ideal spot for you, however we were gifted a 2 night stay in a pod and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It is very basic and you have to provide your own bed, bedding towels, kettle etc. Bob the groundsman made us welcome and was very helpful, showing us where everything was. The setting is very peaceful in woodlands and fishing lakes, we used it as a base to explore the surrounding countryside. It's dog friendly too but keep them on a lead so as not to disturb the anglers.

Great place for fishing. We go every Sunday and regularly take the kids. Always manage to catch sometimes a few and sometimes anywhere up to about 40 a day. There are some big fish in there!!

After looking through the reviews. There is a review from October 2021 about caravan 2. Basically we could copy that review.  Dated, old musty smelly. very uncomfortable beds with springs sticking in you. Door handle on front door fell off when we arrived.  We took our own towels and toilet rolls. No batteries in tv remotes. There is a small freezer compartment in the fridge. The mat at the door is constantly wet and was when we arrived. We arrived at 5, so guessed we were in one of the caravans. No reception. We called the number on the building at the front a guy answered who was lovely but said he hadn't worked there in along long time. We called the number on the website and they gave us the key code. It is hard water fishing. But the boys enjoyed it.  It is basically a fishing place and somewhere to get your head down. Or try because the springs are really bad on the bed. Everything is original no updates to the caravan. Very basic and old fashioned. Imagine a 1980s style. The lodges are nicer, our friends stayed there and there only alttle bit more for them but there wasn't any available £80 extra for the weekend. We spent time in their lodge as couldnt stay in the caravan. They did complain about the beds as well. I feel the price needs to be reduced to reflex the quality of the caravan. The shower leaks which drove me mad so had to put the shower head on the floor. There is nothing to do put fish. The caravan needs knocking down or improving and updating. Noway worth the best.

Just come back from bowland lakes stayed in lakeside lodge had everything you needed fishing was really good read all reviews about fishing being rubbish I suggest to all those people to go get a fishing lesson would definatley return

Lovely place. Stopped in Lodge 7 which was great. Had everything you need and was very clean. The fishing however, wasn't very good and the WiFi was non-existent.

Had a few days fishing loved the private fishing peg right outside my lodge. Lodge was very clean and well equipped Will be trying some of the other sites. Weather wasn't good but still caught a double figure carp.

What can I say. A last minute decision when I saw the promo code for 2 nights for £50 was the best decision! We booked the glamping pod and it was absolutely lovely! Positioned in a little nook by the lake, with an electricity point and heater - absolutely blissful! We had a family of ducks that welcomed us in the morning and evening which was lovely. The place was clean and tidy with plenty of parking. Only thing that would have benefitted us would have been a map of the site for location of the toilets as we arrived late at night and couldn't work out where they were. Will definitely be back! Thank you.

Fished there a few times until I found out that they had a disease in the lakes the took all the carp out and never put them back never caught a carp in 2 years thought it was time to go elsewhere

Lovely place, but the carp stocks are pretty abysmal. Would be a solid 5 star review if they would just spend a little on extra stock! Same carp out weekly!

Lovely place, We stopped in a fisherman's caravan, 3 days.. £230 There is two. Ours was large, with a room with a dubble bed, with a ensuite toilet. There was a other bed room with two ( rather slim ) single beds. I stuck my husband in there because he snores!! There was a great shower/ toilet. A kitchen with cooker, toaster, microwave and fridge. A table and four chairs. There was a sitting area with a comfy settee, and two arm chairs. T.v was a bit fiddly. Free WiFi. The guy on reception was lovely, he put the heating on for us before we arrived. The all place was peaceful and relaxing. Unfortunately my husband thought the fishing was not good, but we were told there had been a match on the day before we arrived, so maybe that had something to do with it!? Tried all the lakes but did not catch anything. I have never fished before and I enjoyed it, I did land a very small roach. The reception man (Andy!) came to see how we were getting on, lovley bloke asset to the place. Think we may visit again next year, and book a week.

Stayed in a pod very good if you have the camping gear very warm with a radiator provided and it was super cold outside, staff are very helpful Tony even lent my young son a small rod to fish with dont think there's to many carp in the lake didn't have a bite, but my son caught a few silvers and you have toilets that are for just the people who rent the pods we got a good price from wowcher for two nights ate out in garstang just 10 mins down the road , If I came back I would come for the surrounding country side lovely place for cycling and walking but not for the fishing , I like my carp,

Stayed two nights in one of the pods, super clean and warm tucked away in a quiet spot. Pods have their own shower rooms and toilets which were also clean tidy and above all close proximity to pods, they also have your own parking and picnic bench, bbqs and fire pits are allowed aslong as they are off the ground. . The fishing was excellent, caught many different varieties on different methods. There is a spar shop and a lovely cafe a mile away with easy access to lots of woodland walks. Will definitely be going back.

The pods were over priced just a glorified garden shed the fishing was terrible bait shop a joke never saw a carp all weekend just skimmer bream wouldn't recommend this place to anyone
