Very good Japanese food, definitely the best sushi in the Topsham/Brunswick area. Do yourself a favor and order a bento box and grab a Sapporo beer. I got the teriyaki chicken and rice with spicy tuna roll. The soup was very good, the salad was phenomenal and I loved the teriyaki chicken.

This restaurant literally cheats people, after we ordered everything the waitress came to us and said, “Just letting you know that every item that you’ve ordered would cost a dollar or two more because we have new menus”. When I asked, why didn’t you tell us before you took our order (we could care less about the price)? She was very mad at us. When we finished the very mediocre food and asked for the receipt, she couldn’t give us (probably they cheat the IRS as well).

We stopped here for dinner before seeing a show at the theatre. They have a nice selection of Japanese bottle beer but no beer on draught. The fish seemed decent, and the rolls were fine. I think this place is on par or a little above most roll style sushi places. Staff and service was great.

Wow, I’m not sure how this place has the ratings it does. Last night everything about our dinner was not good. The Miso Soup had a taste of bleach. The side salad came with kewpie mayonnaise as dressing and just looked very sloppy. The sashimi was served warm, which made it very suspect. My friend was served a piece of octopus that was very rubbery which means it was very old. Numerous bottle of alcohol behind the bar just looked extremely old, I’ve never seen clear Black Velvet or nearly clear DiSarano. I’ve eaten sushi all around the world and this was the worst yet. It will definitely be my first and last time here.

Spicy tuna hand rolls were Frrrrresh soft magoro tuna steaks with spicy and cukes. Tobiko and quail egg for a special birthday treat and unagi avo roll. Great service, clean bathroom. Staff refilled my water with me asking. 2 sushi chefs we're busy over orders on this figygy Monday lunch in downtown Brunswick.

My family lives in ME, and I’m located in VA. Tonight my parents went to Little Tokyo for their anniversary, as it’s one of their favorite locations to eat out. I called before they arrived and spoke with the owner and let him know I would like to pay for their meal, but not to tell them. He was delighted to be a coconspirator! My parents had a lovely time, and my mom said my dad ate more than he had in months (pneumonia). I’ve not been here, but they love it, and my sister is married to an executive chef, and it’s their favorite sushi place as well! Please go and see these lovely people!

Bento box lunch specials include miso soup, garden salad, edamame and a select half roll in addition to the main sushi rolls. Apx. $15. Such a good deal! Excellent food. Wheelchair accessible.

Not a Japanese restaurant. This is imitation Japanese or “Americanized.” Fish is fresh but they don’t prepare the sushi rice properly with the correct ratio of sushi vinegar. Overall, it was a letdown for me and my Japanese wife.

I love the creative maki rolls they make here. Kudos to the sushi chefs! My order yesterday was 4 high end rolls. Unfortunately they came mashed together in a much too small container. Aesthetically unappealing. Sushi should be presented as the art form it is meant to be.

Right on Main street, with parking on the street as well as in some of the back lots, not a problem really. Brunswick is safe and well lit and the restaurant appeared clean. Our table was clean, no food on the seats or anything like that (pet peeve of mine). Festive and alive surroundings. Side Note: We visited Little Tokyo quite a while back and was completely disappointed in the drinks (little to no alcohol, tasted bad) and they charged us for food we didn't get. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I got home. I did complain and I will say that the manager was a stand up person. She told me to come back and try it again and to let her know when we arrive and she would ensure that our meal was free. You can't really ask for more than that, so I applaud them for that. We did return a couple of times, (but didn't ask for a free meal), and I will say that the food was served quickly and the bill was correct, so no complaints there, however the drinks were still terrible. We even ordered extra shots to put in the drinks but they just didn't mix them right, something was way off and we didn't enjoy them. The seafood soup is pretty good and at $7 it is worth it. It's different but good. We split some shrimp tempura, $10, and it was flaky and crunchy as was the chicken teriyaki, $18. We didn't try any of the sushi on any of our visits, but maybe the next time. Overall Little Tokyo is a fun and festive restaurant that has good food and a younger crowd, but still very friendly. Great service and good food.

Food was nice, the lunch bentos are especially good since they come with several sides. Only bad thing is that some lunch bentos are labeled vegan, but they come with a house salad, which is not vegan. You can order a vegan item and receive non-vegan food. Otherwise, nice place to eat. Just wish the food labeling was clearer. An item which comes with non-vegan sides should not be labeled as vegan. Instead, the vegan options should come with vegan sides. Perhaps an oil-based dressing instead of dairy-based on the salad.

Love the sushi! My boss and I dont even live in this town anymore and we still brag about the food to our coworkers now. Wish I lived closer I'd be there all the time like the good old days!

Our first time here was about ten years ago and the experience was fantastic. Went back today with some family and we had another wonderful experience and flavorful food.

I also had a similar experience to a reviewer below in that the man at the front made me feel like it was a bother I came in. I walked in and he seemed agitated to be interrupted by whatever he was looking at on his phone. I pointed to a table to ask if I should seat myself and he just nodded. My food server was kind and attentive. The problems with the restaurant are with the host and the food. As another reviewer stated, the miso soup was salty and lukewarm. My eel and cucumber roll hardly had any eel in it and my yellowtail nigiri sushi was a hunk of fish (not a carefully sliced piece) on top of sushi rice that was not authentically prepared. This was a big disappointment. So many aspects let me down that I don’t think I’ll try them again. Watami is a better place to go by miles.

Have always loved my dining and carryout experiences at Lil Tokyo..the sushi is always fresh and well prepared! They also have a good lunch special..2 sushi rolls, soup, salad and edemame! Always a good, healthy lunch, at a reasonable price..

My daughter goes to Bowdoin, and I've ordered the Yacht for three there several times. The last time it tasted as if the food was old and the of lower quality. They gave no chopsticks, soy sauce, or even napkins. There are many restaurants in Brunswick and I will not be ordering from Little Tokyo any more.

I cannot recommend this place enough! The food is always delicious, the service fantastic & this evening a staff member made me a delicious Taro bubble tea “their treat” after mentioning in conversation it is my favorite! I truly feel valued as a guest here & am always impressed. Thank you!
