There is plethora of info on the display boards within the structure. Very interesting, but you will need to spend a bit of time reading. ...and then enjoy the cute Bug Lighthouse at the other end of the parking lot.

Informative memorial dedicated to the local shipyard workers who built Liberty Ships in Portland during WWII. Several picture displays with historical information are inside the large Liberty Ship walk-through sculpture. Makes a nice combination stop if you're visiting nearby Bug Light Lighthouse or the South Portland Historical Society.

Very interesting and educational memorial to the shipbuilders in the area that supported war efforts during WWII. Nicely done presentation and a nice place to take in views of the waterfront.

This is a really cool monument that I was not expecting to see at all when I made it to Bug Light Park. Lots of interesting and not widely known history here. I wish it was covered because it was raining when I got there, but it’s still a cool spot! If you’re going to visit Bug Light Park, I wouldn’t skip out on exploring this memorial. There’s a lot to learn here about the area and about the US!

Great place to visit. This memorial is easy to access and educational. The memorial looks over the Portland Harbor. The sculpture itself makes you really understand the size of the ships constructed. There is a good amount of parking.

Interesting history on view at this memorial for the Liberty Ships built right at the docks nearby. Those Liberty Ships helped the United States win World War II. You can walk inside a statue/ship frame, and also read about the history on very well done and maintained printed billboard displays.

Loved the huge signs outlining the history of the areas shipbuilding and how it impacted our country. Right by the water with its views of various boats. We saw a three-sail sailboat, which my daughter insisted was a pirate ship. Also right by the Bug Light lighthouse, which is both beautiful and adorable!

Fascinating historical monument that explains the tremendous impact thousands of ship builders had during WW II in So. Portland.
