Fair hotel, clean and efficient staff. Breakfast quite basic. Sound isolation between rooms could be better as you can hear other peoples in rooms speaking. Overall ok but definitely not a 5 stars hotel.

Location is okay - just a 20 min bus journey into the city. Staff on reception and bar staff where very unprofessional and rude. The housekeeping took away my £70 Calvin Klein swim shorts that where laying in my bedroom
. Manager said it’s my word vs there word so they didn’t do anything about the matter (therefore had to go in pool in my pants!) Also the manager at hotel told me ‘if I don’t write a bad review they will supply me with a free drink’!!! Blackmail!!!

Reception. In general, they were quite professional. One thing that changed that perception, though was when we requested for a taxi. We booked a taxi ourselves online but got no confirmation, hence we requested the reception 1 hour earlier to call for a taxi to pick us at a particular time. We were told there is a taxi stand around the corner. And they were right. In my experience, however, there weren't always taxis the 10 times I've passed by this place—and we needed to rush. Plus, it was raining. It was wet and cold. Apart from that, I was in the lounge with all our luggage while my partner was attending the conference. It seemed as if calling for a taxi was such a big deal when hotels do that with pleasure and without any fuss. It was time for us to leave yet there wasn't any taxi waiting for us outside the hotel. We asked the staff—only for him to still had to call a taxi in the taxi stand which was just a stone's throw away but with a handful of the conference attendees leaving for the airport and all that, we were worried. Good thing there was "one" taxi waiting. Just one! Then I was asked again by the staff where we were going for him to tell the driver. That morning, I had to repeat myself three times to three different staff in three separate occasions within 90 minutes—only for the taxi to bring us to the train station instead of the bus station. As a result, we almost missed the bus, got stressed, and paid much more for the taxi. Food. Breakfast - the sauteed vegetables either tasted strange or tasted unpalatable. They got lots of stuff which I couldn't eat yet I got to pay for the breakfast. So my breakfast for the 4 days was this: mixed fresh fruits with natural yogurt, tea, sauteed vegetables, boiled egg, scrambled eggs, fresh/raw tomatoes & cucumber, some cheese, baked beans from the can which didn't taste as good as they normally do. Regarding the service in general, it was good. They always collected the dirty plates. My husband however seemed to like the breakfast... Bar - ordered summer salad but nah, overpriced and bland—with only two things! They could have added some slithered almonds or pumpkin seeds, some cheese and whatnot. The service was good, though. Restaurant - horrible food. The pizza was frozen so my partner didn't order that. Got something else but with no luck. We enjoyed way more and twice the Japanese food we took away from Sushi & Co which is just around the corner! Lunch during the EAGE Conference. The first two days, good. The third and fourth, bad. Room. It's an old hotel which I guess used to be a 5-stars in its prime so it's spacious. Love that! Very comfortable beds. Clean bedsheets. Clean room. Most of the time, I wanted to re-use my towels but not keep it in the toilet. Why not change the policy to: Put the towels on the floor or in the bathtub if you want them changed? Instead of just changing relatively clean and/or unused towels? And the telephone could do a bit of dusting. Lounge. Relaxing! Spacious! Comfortable sofas. Lifts. Fast! Location. From 17:00, expect traffic jams and bus arriving late or not arriving at all. It reminded me of Bangkok 2009, well, not as bad though. Traveling by metro would be a better choice, except that it's not yet ubiquitous in the city.

Nice hotel, big room and bathroom. Pool a little cold, even the 'hot area'. A bit of a walk into town but a good bus connection. Our key card stopped working a couple of times and there was a mistake on minibar bill but it was easily fixed.

Not quite a 5 star hotel. Rooms were comfy and clean and the hotel offers a decent amount of amenities. The location isn't the worst, but it surely isn't good either. While we were there two out of three elevators broke down. They were fixed the same day, but it surely raised some eyebrows. My biggest issue was with the breakfast staff, who were rushing us through our meal like we were cattle. Before we'd put our knife and fork down someone was already pulling the plate from under our noses, and getting another glass of milk or juice wasn't a possibility because by the time you'd get back to the table your (even unfinished) meal would be gone.

Not deserving of being a five star hotel. The hotel was clean, beds comfy and the breakfast was good. The indoor pool was amazing, the outdoor rooftop pool was incredibly underwhelming. The reception staff spoke great English but were rude and unhelpful. The cleaning staff were absolutely lovely and did an amazing job. The hotel is not in a great area. The toiletries provided was a 3-in-1 body wash and conditioning shampoo which was quite disappointing, would have at least appreciated a separate shampoo and conditioner. Shower was very small and the temperature did not stay the same throughout a shower. Furniture and décor in the room felt cheap and like an after-thought.

A very beautiful hotel, looks luxurious, delicious food, high level of cleanliness B U T there is a big but here and that is that I experienced humiliation from one of the waitresses in the dining room and from the hostess there. During breakfast (when it was 10:00 about half an hour before closing) I filled my bottle from one of the drinking facilities. The waitress aggressively pushed in front of me, scolded me in front of everyone for not being able to fill my bottle (small bottle! 350 ml!!!) and moved the dispenser away from me like I am sick person or dangerous. I told her that I prefer to drink from my personal bottle and not from their glasses and I don't understand where the problem is and she just continued to scold me that I'm wrong and that it’s allowed to do such things. I drank coffee, ate a few bites of fruit and left humiliated. On leaving, the hostess also added to scold me in front of everyone that I will not do that (fill my bottle) tomorrow at breakfast. I told her that all the other four hotels I've been to in the last few days didn't tell me anything and that she herself saw that I didn't take anything from the dining room! One coffee and some pieces of fruit! It ‏ didn’t really interested her. She interrupted me and told me that it is not allowed in their hotel. I have never been humiliated like this in front of people. This is a pure evil! evil!!!! That day they didn't put water in our room and they decided to charge us for chocolate that we didn't order and didn't eat. A similar case happened to several other members of our group. It's sad to find out that on our vacation we arrived at an antisemitic, racist hotel with a disgusting attitude and this is after last night we gave a tip to the waiter in the dining room who cleaned our table (he didn't even serve us) so this is the attitude we deserve back? shame on you. I will personally make sure to warn all the people that close to me from Israel not to approach you!

It’s a very nice hotel with full breakfast and buffet dinner, swimming pools. If location was closer to the Douro River I’d give a 5. Avoid the 15th floor where there’s a swimming pool and a bar, it gets noisy at late night. There are small restaurants and pizza shops nearby where you can grab cheap eats.

A quiet hotel in a quiet part of the city with nice, friendly staff. Location may be difficult for those with mobility issues (halfway up a hill and pavements can be crowded/blocked with vehicles) but taxis are always available at the hotel taxi rank and it's only a 15minute walk to busier areas. Note, at peak times the elevators can take forever and on more than one occasion I waited 10 minutes+, but the lobby bar with plentiful & comfortable seating is next to them, so no hardship was felt.

Location a 45 mins walk into city, rooftop bar is nice but needs some work to improve pool and pool area which has uneven floor boards under artificial grass which is very hazardous. Cocktails not the best quality for the price, bar and ground floor has cheaper prices. Bar food very nice and not to expensive. Hotel rooms are quite big, beds very comfortable and bedding good quality. Shower very good. Walks between rooms very thin so lots of noise at times. Would stay here again.

Wrist 5 star I have been! Firstly; the hotel is located in a such bad neighborhood that local people advise us to not leave the cars on the street. There's even people asking for money to buy"food" right in front of the hotel. And do you know what this hotel makes to its clients? Paying 11 euro per night to park the car on their car parking, even though it is dangerous to park you car on the street. Secondly, they advertise luxurious rooms with sport TV and noise free. Well mine wasn't that the case, one of the night I could hear everything from the room next door, and when I say everything imagine the worst. Thirdly, their spa and indoor pool is closed but wait is not because of covid-19 it's because the pool has a leak and they close everything because OF it even the gym. Thirdly, the staff is horrendous, except one guy at the breakfast, the others are purely unsatisfied to be working on this hotel. When I arrived they ask me to pay when I had paid with credit card in advance... They looked like bouncers not receptionist. Fourthly, but lost less important; they had a lot of guests but they were very short on staff which cause the biggest to queue I have ever seen to take a breakfast in a 5 star hotel, well it was the first time I saw it happen in any hotel... They gonna say it was because of covid, I will tell you that is because of bad management of sitting one person in tables of 5... At breakfast time they were supposed to properly disinfect the tables and chairs however they do it is anedotic they clean the tables with the same paper of the chairs and vice versa... I have also a video of the queue I referred before. Very poor! And no, I will not contact you since you ignored my complaints on booking.com You 10 years behind of your hotels in Lisbon.

The staff were amazing, extremely helpful, my room was beautiful, loved the walk in shower. The roof top bar needed a better selection of drinks but the ambience was lovely all the same. There was a good selection of food at breakfast. The pool was lovely but the hotel lacked a spa (Steam & Sauna rooms). There was adequate gym equipment and it airy. There was towel whilst you swam but nothing for the gym. This hotel had a good location only 5-7 minutes to Porto Central in a taxi, and 20 minutes from the airport. Overall a lovely stay, I will definitely book this hotel again. Thank you.

Sadly the waiting staff at the restaurant and their approach let down this hotel. The rooms are good, views are decent and whilst not on a metro line, major buses are straight outside the hotel. And the check in team were also very accomodating. However, on one evening our group were told we might have to leave the bar area. One of our group was competing at the dance world cup and I'd anticipated that our group would be excitable for no more than 15 minutes during the performance and judging. Knowing this I asked if there was a room we could use, even paying where necessary, but all they could offer was the business centre, which is tiny. At one point the hotel sent across their tallest, most muscular waiter to tell our group to be quieter and I explained that we would be done in a moment and that we had asked to go to somewhere more private. It is a shame that the hotel were so short sighted as our group would have stayed in the bar for another couple of drinks, most likely some food. I also believe they wouldn't have approached a group watching the football world cup or another sporting event in this way.

This place is really nice aesthetically but I found it to be missing a lot of 5 star hotel features. The night front office staff are not pleasant and don’t even look you in the eye when talking to you

The hotel was nice and clean the housekeeping did great job Location was okay (uber is so cheap you can use uber instead of bus) The roof top pool was nice Bartenders and servers were amazing!!!! Super nice and polite honestly the best part was their servers. Front desk people were terrible not helpful extremely rude their customer service level was like 2 or 3 maybe. (just one gentleman was amazing and I forgot to ask his name he was wearing suit and had short hair well you would know because he is the only one who knows what he is doing ) ladies unfortunately were not helpful and one time my key wasn't working I asked them to re issue the key they just asked the room number! And name maybe? Didn't ask for any kind of ID or anything which is a huge security issue. The jacuzzi was cold almost the same temperature as the pool.

Really disappointing, the staff in the down stairs bar/lounge were great and the capuccini was really good but the reception is slow, house-keeping needs improvement, terrible location and the rooftop pool/bar is terrible. The indoor pool on the first floor wasn't much better. The cocktails and staff at the HF Phoenix are infinitely better. Breakfast is not worth the astonishing 17€ that you have to pay if you don't include it in the room for 12€ and it's not worth it at that price either.

Nice rooms but very desapointing woman at the reception who made us wait an half day to be sure that i paid while i did it a week in advance. She ruined the first day of three.

We didn’t have a good experience with this place unfortunately. We stay at 5/4 star hotels and this was very far from 5 star, maximum 3. The rooms were not clean and cleaned bad, really really bad. For instance the empty shampoo bottles were simply never removed, empty water bottles same. We always had hair in the freshly changed bed.. The pools are nothing close to give relaxing experience, water was cold and in general it was small so it felt packed. Everything at the hotel was very old and half broken.. we could hear everything that was going on in the near rooms and outside, we always heard the TV and music from the room next to us. Also if you expect to have some kind of attention like at 5 star hotels, forget about it. We made the reservation on their official website and I left a note that this was an anniversary and proposal celebration. When we arrived we didn’t have help with luggages, our room was dirty, things were broken inside and we didn’t have any amenities from the hotels side to congratulate us on our celebration. Honestly we chose this hotel thinking we’ll have a 5 star experience, and we were very dissapointed with the experience that we had in reality (we checked the reviews they were all very positive, it was sad to realize they were probably false or not honest). We would’ve rather payed a little more and stayed at Hilton.

Experience is often perceived by expectations. This is a 5 star hotel in Porto and I have stayed at all other HF hotels in Porto. Thus I had high expectations for this place. Problem is that the maintenance of the hotel is not too good. My window didn't close properly, tv remote was out of battery, shower was leak etc. Location is another thing that I didn't think of. There's no proper public transport near but I didn't mind taking Uber everywhere. What I didn't realize is traffic in the mornings and afternoons making it longer and more expensive. HF hotels in the area are good and this is not a bad hotel, but I would rather recommend HF FĂ©nix. On the positive side of things, the rooftop bar is nice and the staff was excellent. 🙏

  • 4/5 K G. 7 months ago on Google
Nice staff and comfortable, average rooms and breakfast buffet. But the location isn't convenient to anything, IMO. Getting to Old Town, sightseeing tours, and nice restaurants requires an Uber ride. There is a bus nearby, but I didn't want to deal with public transportation.

I was very happy I was able to book a room on the last floor of the Hotel which was spacious and came with a nice view. However the rest of the hotel was really disappointing, starting with the fact that the room was not at all isolated and you could hear everything from your neighbor as well as the corridor. What was even worse is the rooftop bar without any security staff resulting in completely drunk people falling, jumping and shouting on our corridor. In addition the breakfast was not at all what we expected in a 5 star hotel. Only limited joice, no dish and the meat/ham was of the lowest quality. In addition only 2 vegetables and no salad was on offer. I also don’t understand why they offer canned fruits like peaches if it’s key season for those fruits in Portugal.

Had a great stay visiting Porto for 4 days, staff were very helpful and went the extra mile, location was excellent just 20mins from the beach and 20mins from the city centre. Public transport was excellent. Bar prices were not excessive food was of a very high standard. The two pools and gym were clean and well maintained.

I emailed the hotel to inquire about room assignments and basic information (wifi, breakfast restaurant venue and operation times, reception dial number) along with a rooming list. However, the response I received was a single line asking for my reservation number. Even though room assignment requests might require a reservation number, basic information should be readily available. Perplexed as to why only the reservation number was requested, I provided my reference number. They then asked for the full reservation number, which I provided. After giving the correct reservation number, I received no further response and was left without the basic information I had requested. Upon my actual arrival at the hotel, none of the requests I had made via email four days prior had been fulfilled. When I asked for some rooms to be changed, the reception staff frowned and impatiently asked which rooms. After organizing the necessary information and requesting keys for three rooms, the staff member expressed annoyance, questioning why this information was only being provided now. Each time a change was made, I made sure to express my gratitude. After distributing room keys to all group members, I returned to request a wake-up call, only to be told the service was not available. Requesting a change to my own room to a different floor, the staff member visibly showed annoyance, mumbling about why I was making the request only now. At that moment, feeling as though the roles of guest and staff had been reversed, I expressed my desire for service befitting a 5-star hotel. When I apologized if I had upset them but pointed out that their tone and expression were unnecessarily rude, the staff member did not apologize but instead reiterated that they had fulfilled all my requests. I am baffled as to how a hotel providing such service could be rated 5-star. I had stayed here before and encountered issues with the reception not having proper information from the booking department, which they tried to justify. However, unlike this male staff member, a female staff member on that occasion eventually cooperated with a more pleasant demeanor, leaving me less frustrated. I will certainly be advising my company against using this hotel in the future. The hotel's location is also not ideal, with nothing of interest nearby and requiring a car to reach the city center. In the mornings, opening the curtains reveals a view of seagulls flocking outside the window. For the service one star is too much for this hotel!!

This as 5 stars but it went to a lot of 5 and 4 stars around the world and this hostel is more like an bad 4 stars. The beds are confortable but they do crazy noise when you move. There is no style or identity in the rooms, they are very basic. Sound insulation is one of the worst I have seen. The only thing that was correct was the breakfast, just correct.

We were in another hotel, the whole hotel was closed and there was no notice to tell you that you had no lodging there! Some cleaning staff told us to go to another hotel of the same clain (Ipanema Park Hotel) where we were transferred. The second hotel was very nice with a fantastic view.

A nice hotel for business trip with comfortable bed and alright buffet if you want to eat at the hotel. I wished they provided more tea and coffee in the room. it’s just 10 minutes taxi drive from city centre or you can take a long walk by the river; will get to see all the bridges and photo opportunities are endless. There is a nice bar at the roof top which has a small swimming pool (swimming not allied after 8pm). Overall I had positive experience.

I called ahead of booking and spoke to the reception, asking what facilities I could enjoy as I was only booking this hotel due to the rooftop pool bar. I was assured I could book without a problem, as only the internal pool was closed due to covid. I booked the trip, got to the hotel, and was informed the rooftop bar wasn't open, but that it would open the next day. This happened every single day until my trip ended, for 9 days. Not only did I pay a lot more for this amenity, the fact that I was lied to repeatedly and had to postpone my tours believing the staff ruined our anniversary trip. I submitted a complaint and asked for a refund for the difference of the amount between this hotel and the sister hotel, which doesn't have the rooftop bar, and got told there is a disclaimer on the website saying not all facilities will be open due to covid, so I was not entitled to any refund. To add insult to injury, not only did I have to complain the cleaning wasn't being done daily, half the time towels weren't left in the room and the coffee, tea and sugar weren't stocked up. Once I complained, they sent some upstairs. When I called and complained about the rooftop bar to the reception, and asked if they could send room service to the rooftop as it presented no difference to the bar being closed (people were using the tiny pool there with no social distancing) they told me they''d call me back and never did. The breakfast was the only thing that was nice. However, since my family has stayed at this hotel for the past 20 years, you can see that the level of general quality has dropped. I am still very dissatisfied with being lied to deliberately so I'd book the trip, after being assured the rooftop bar would be open. It's a dishonest practice I wouldn't have expected a 5 star hotel staff would take. Fair to say, my family and I won't stay here again unfortunately. Make sure you actually research before you go, if like me you're only booking for amenities you won't get. Edit after the owner replied - Easyjet further called you and confirmed the rooftop bar was closed for the entirety of my stay, and that what you did was dishonest, so they've refunded me partially as it breached their guidelines that you advertised amenities which weren't open. The rooftop bar was closed between the 27th of August until the 8th of September that I could verify, so what you said is incorrect. I've amended my comment about the breakfast, as I was referring to the general quality of the hotel going downhill - Towels not being replaced, stained bedding, coffee, tea and sugar not being replaced until I complained, not really what you'd ever expect from a 5 star hotel. Thank you for the invitation to return but obviously I'll pass. I hope you aren't as shocked as from learning your own amenities were closed. It seems that there are a lot of service failures you are not aware of.

Edit 2021: stayed here again and while I understand it is Corona and hotels struggle, I can really not understand that a five star hotel charges an additional fee if you request an Omlet at breakfast (3 years ago this was not the case). The hotel is well maintained, rooms are spacious. Overall it is more on the level of other 4 star hotels in Portugal than to 5 star hotels. 2018: Nice hotel with a very nice pool area on rooftop. The staff is friendly. Room could be cleaner, we found a lot of hairs in one corner of the room in front of a mirror. There is not so much in the nearby area you can do, you need to use a taxi or public transport to go to downtown or the beach.

The honest review. I was staying at this hotel for 1 week in June 2022. It says 5 star. But I'm afraid that it doesn't deserve more than 3 stars. And therefor I rate it 2 stars since I dont appreciate when hotel stars are 'lying' to me. Air quality is pretty bad all over the hotel, but in the room the aircondition didn't work as expected, I told the front desk on the first day, and they said that there were going to fix it, but nothing happened.. The gym was 'fancy' but didn't have too much equipment, and I was experience working out without any electricity, there was a power cut, and a guy almost fell of the treadmill, really dangerous in my opinion. Roof pool was closed (at least they say so) but went up and had a look, and it looked open to me.. The overall quality of the staff was that they could probably have higher salary so they at least could put on a smile.. Cleaning in the room was good! All in all, this hotel need to be upgraded to meet the 5 stars it have on the wall. Either the person rating it was drunk or a friend back in the days.. During my stay, I aslo realized that coffee is not free, or, you can one free cup in the room every day, but what if you are two persons... The location of the hotel is in a little 'shady' neighborhood and not too much things around. With waiting for uber and traffic it is approximately 30-45 minutes to city center. (The same if you walk) Will not stay in this hotel again.

This is a great hotel, rooms are comfy, clean and tide. Breakfast is good and has everything you'd want to have. Great rooftop pool and indoor pool. Would be better if pool bar was operating but not a big deal we got our own alcohol. Only two downsides. 1. Acoustic isolation is poor, if you next door neighbor is having to much fun you'll hear it. 2. Location is not in the main touristic center so if you're planning on walking outside to the nearest bar this is a deal breaker. Other than that it's nothing a short taxi ride won't solve. Overall very recommended.

So I have just checked in, realy clean hotel - not quite sure it's 5 star. Lobby is amazing but does not reflect the standard of the rooms. I have just been downstairs to see if my husband and I could change rooms as we are in a twin!!!!!! ( would have been nice to have a double as its our first holiday without the children) only to be told they are fully booked, however when you go onto multiple websites there is availability? Secondly, we are checking out prior to a pre-paid breakfast on Friday; I asked if this was possibly transferable to an evening meal and was told that I would receive a take away - "doggy bag" breakfast at check- out . 5 star absolutely not! I do not go abroad without checking into a 5 star hotel - not because this is what I'm accustomed to but, both my husband and I work terribly hard and we are after all on holiday, as we deserve the break. Welcome was lackluster. Reception point was OK. Maintenance man was lovely. 5 star Hotel definitely not 5 star service. View from my room :( wasn't great either.

We have travelled all over the world and have stayed at many fine places, ranging from budget to 5 star. We’ve always been amazed at how wonderful and accommodating the places and staff were. This hotel however, our first night the air conditioning was barely moving any air and it was warm humid air. We contacted the front desk who sent up a technician who then took a look and said it was operating fine. It would take some time to cool down. We went out for a few hours and came back to a sweltering room. We once again asked and the technician then pretended to do something which in the end did nothing. We sweated out the night and got zero sleep. The next day we spoke with the manager who talked down to us and said it was the weather. We stayed at other places on previous nights and those places had zero issues with the weather and the rooms were comfortable. We tried on the second night to call the front desk and it was the same result. They refused to admit thier central air conditioning system wasn’t working and insisted they could do nothing about it and then proceeded to say this is normal. One more night we got very little sleep. The next morning we packed up and went to the front desk, they refused to offer any kind of compensation and tried to charge us extra for breakfast we didn’t have. So we ate the loss of the two extra nights we had planned to stay and went elsewhere, where we were treated might nicer. We spoke with several guests who had also experienced the same thing. This is NOT a 5 star hotel with 5 star service. If you want a decent nights sleep and friendly staff, do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else, you’ll thank us and so will your wallet!

I had a terrible experience with HF Ipanema Hotels; the rooms were not clean or of a high standard despite being a 5-star hotel. My room was dirty when I arrived at the hotel. I spoke with the manager, but he could not solve the problem since the other rooms they suggested were in the same condition. As of yet, I have not heard back from them despite emailing them. There has been an entire month since I filed my complaint. If you are planning to visit Porto, I suggest you don't stay at this hotel because the rooms and bathroom smell bad and are not hygienic.

Great hotel with spacious rooms, lot of amenities and a very nice breakfast. With Uber or public transport you are quickly in the vivid centre of Porto, or you can go to the beaches in the North.

Could be a nice place for work, yet for a five star hotel the service is somewhat tragic. The room climate is humid and wet as if in a bathroom, even with AC on full. The meeting room on the other hand is either a win tunnel where you can't speak, or a room without any air conditioning. Most parts of the lobby & bar are closed during Day, and they will not let you use the area there as well. Make sure to check for another alternative, this is not good enough and not worth it.

A lovely hotel with all the facilities you can wish for. When we stayed there, there were a lot of young couples / people which made it noisy and not as enjoyable going to the pool. The pool area is also quite smelly (sewer water). The food is average and not 5 star. Location a bit outside town. Overall not a bad place to stay but we questioned the 5 star rating.

Definitely the hotel where I'll be staying the next time that I'll revisit Porto. The place is very nice, the rooms are perfect but it's definitely the employees that makes the hotel unforgetable. Very professional and very nice. I haven't been deceived by a single detail thanks to all of them. Protect them and keep them at all costs.

Honest review: The first impression is great. Nice staff and good-looking lobby. Once you enter your room you see that the furniture is old and damaged. Our dinner experience was short-lived due to them not helping us. After waiting for 20 minutes I decided not to order anything. My partner did, but it too our surprise they forgot about us, and once the staff remembered they just grabbed it straight from the all-you-can-eat buffet table. After that terrible "dinner" we went to bed thinking it was just us because we were tired. Which wasn't to easy with all the noise coming from the city. Then waking up at 5 in the morning because some kind of noise was coming from water leaking? I think it is the swimming pool above us. (and the second morning it was the same sound) About the swimming pool, don't forget to bring a swimming cap else you can't even use it! After paying what I think should be enough to be able to make use of the facilities in the hotel, they require €5,- for the swimming cap or you are not allowed in... The location of the hotel is also pretty bad. Sure there is a park, but who wants to walk in the park all day when in Porto? You want to go to the city center of course... Yes, there is a bus in front of the hotel, but all the traffic is jammed due to this hotel being in a busy area. I noticed the hotel replying to all of the negative comments, but there is nothing you can say to validate this hotel being a 5-star hotel. I've visited many hotels due to my work and this is literally the worst I've ever been. It's like a 3-star hotel with some extra facilities (that apparently you can't just use without paying extra) If you are visiting Porto and want to treat yourself to a nice 5-star hotel, don't go here. We spent the rest of our stay in a cheap Airbnb which was better and the same price for 5 days ;)
