A must visit! Oh my it is an incredible museum! It starts with a movie then a cool bunker scene with another film and effects and then one more room with a film about WWII starting. Then we walk into an incredible room with SO many tanks and a few airplanes. So amazing. We learned a lot and had so many great photo ops. These are legit working tanks! The 9-11 memorial and piece of the Berlin wall were especially touching. The docents were also incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed learning from them and they did so much to make the experience special for our boys, from letting them push a button to control the tank demo or allow them to try on tactical gear. I will not forget them or this museum. We will have to come back for the re-enactments and more!

This place is awesome! Such a well maintained display. I spent the full day there and will be back again. I loved the trench experience and the videos that play throughout the time there kept things exciting. So much to see and so well preserved. So many one of a kind and rare pieces. Cool to know most pieces are functional and were driven in through the huge doors noted along the exterior of the building.

I've been looking forward to seeing the American Heritage Museum since my step-son took a school trip there and told me all about it. He came back with me and we're already planning another visit! The exhibits are well thought out and there is so much history packed into this place. We talked to one of the many employees/history buffs there and it sounds like they will be opening another building or two with planes and classic cars, which we're definitely coming back to see. There were videos played at the beginning of the tour (self-guided but with knowledgeable staff around every corner). The World War I video was particularly moving. The pictures do not do this museum justice! There is nothing cooler than seeing a tank up close and personal. This is a great way to spend an afternoon and there is plenty to see.

Must see! This museum exceeds expectations and sets the standard for what a museum should be. The museum alternates from movie to interactive experience to hands on experience with the vehicles etc. They have well presented and cared for pieces of military history. This place is unlike any I’ve ever seen. We spent around 2.5 hours there.

Wow! What an awesome place to see so much of our American military history. The exhibits were so thoughtfully curated down to the smallest details and the employees and volunteers were so passionate & knowledgeable! The Vietnam POW film and recovered doors/bricks just gave you such chills and even more of a deeper appreciation for these heroes bravery. Thank you Veterans!!!

Really awesome place, it’s so much bigger than I thought it would be. The staff are all really friendly and ready to answer any questions. Look for Kent if you go, he is awesome and will give you info on lots of the tanks and events that the museum is holding. Definitely a place worth checking out more than once!

We live nearby and visit this museum frequently. This is such an amazing place, especially if you enjoy history. AHM has one of the largest collections of vehicles in North America. All vehicles are carefully and accurately restored and are on display for the public. For a large part of the year, the museum will hold specially events once a month. Most recently was the Tank Demonstration Weekend, which you can watch tanka drive around outside and visit all the buildings on site. Is an amazing place, and the veterans/volunteers will always teach you something you didn't know. If you live close by and enjoy the museum, you can purchase an annual membership and get in free for the year. Be sure to plan a trip here if you are nearby or interested.

We have been to the AHM a couple times but this was the first time going during a special event, the WWII Tank Demo weekend. It is amazing, and important, to see these pieces of our Nation's history in person and, in many cases, fully operational. It is even more impressive the dedication of all the volunteers who keep the museum running and work countless hours to preserve all of the pieces in the collection. We are looking forward to the reenactment events this fall. That should be pretty amazing.

The American Heritage Museum is one of the largest collections of tanks and vehicles in the world. It is an absolute must see for any military or history fan. The museum covers history from the revolutionary war through the Iraqi war. The presentation of vehicles and artifacts is amazing. The staff, comprised of military veterans from all branches, are outstanding and incredibly knowledgeable. Make the journey and visit this world class museum.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable on the artifacts contained in the museum. There’s a lot more to see and experience, but you have to plan your visit to make sure the exhibits are open and maybe see their re-enactments.

Great place to get more information about real tanks and airplanes from different wars. You can't climb in or touch so the museum is mostly for bigger kids. Your visit will be more interesting if You don't hesitate to ask questions

When you first walk in, you are greeted by super friendly staff. All of the videos are very educational and some are even interactive. This museum gives you new outlooks on the war. Any questions that you have, the workers provide you with great answers. I highly recommend visiting. You won’t believe how many things you will get the chance to see.

i bought a tank driving experience for my husband since he's always talked about wanting to drive one. it was such an amazing experience being able to learn about the tank, how to start it, how to drive it, and to actually drive it! he had an absolutely wonderful time--so much so that he now wants one of his own! ken, the instructor, was very knowledgable. he was able to answer all of our questions, made us feel secure in the vehicle, and gave proper direction to my husband as he drove the tank all around the field and up and down hills! the entire staff at the museum was welcoming and inviting. they all seemed to get along well with each other and loved what they do--this made the entire experience even better to see happy and joyous faces. i highly recommend the tank driving experience to anyone who has ever been curious to try, and if you aren't into driving tanks, check out the museum! it's rich in history with beautiful displays and has a large collection of one of a kind vehicles that'll be difficult to find elsewhere. even if you aren't interested in history the museum has ways to pull you in and awaken your curiosity.

Epic. We came for an event (Battle of the Airfield) and really enjoyed the museum. We’ve been to a lot of ww2 museums and this was, by far, one of the best. The exhibits were amazing and detailed, the kids loved them. We enjoyed every minute of our visit here.

Had a great time. Seeing all the World War 2 tanks and equipment brought the audiobooks we listen to to life. ( Tiger Tracks, The Last Panther, Panzer Ace etc.) Being there for the reenactment was an absolute bonus. Can't thank the Foundation enough for making this such an enjoyable experience. Thanks again also for resending my tickets that were left at home. My hats off to all the gentlemen who participated. They made the day even more special.

Went here for my son's birthday. Worth the visit. Well done presentation when you enter and throughout the museum with an impressive collection of artifacts. Most are genuine, not replicas! Tour guides are very knowledgable and love to talk history, specs, or anything else you want to know. We will be back sometime to see the aircraft hangar (there are a few aircraft in the main museum but they have more in the hangar) and tank operation shows. I do reccomend earplugs or headphones for the sensory sensitive as some presentations are a bit loud. Staff warned us about that in advance.

I have been introduced to mechanized warfare through the “We have ways of making you talk” podcast by historian James Holland and comedian Al Murray from the UK. Al’s reading of the classic book “Tank!” by Ken Tout would be a great introduction to a visitor heading to this museum. I won’t describe everything so you can discover it yourself but a few highlights for me were the different parts of the Sherman tank where you can see the confined spaces these men had to operate in. The variety of scout cars. amphibious vehicles and mobile guns complement the big names like the T-34s and an amazing Panther. I learned a lot from the guides to flesh out what I’ve gained from the podcast.

AH Museum deserves more than 5 stars. The props, videos, interactive experiences, the history all make it a tremendous learning experience. So much to learn, take in and reflect on. I went with 4 twelve year olds. We could not take it all in. There is just too much. I would suggest a cafe be added so you can take a well deserved learning break. With so many vets, seniors and families around their a cafe would work. To the founders, thank you for brining this museum to life

Spent over 5 hours at the museum with my 22-year old son. What a great place. Top quality exhibits, knowledgeable, friendly volunteers. Informative videos, good print material. Volunteers in costume. Watching the tanks run outside was amazing. Got to walk around 2 sides of the drive area. Great collection of vintage machine guns and other paraphernalia. We could have but decided not to ride in the tanks though it was available for a cost. Maybe next time, at an hour away- we will be back. Bring water and a snack. There is nothing available for purchase.

This museum blew us away! We were so impressed with the quality of displays and how many tanks they have available to see! The displays were very impressive, as was all the information provided about each item. There also had fabulous films that told different stories about the items on display. My teenage son, a huge war buff and tank history expert, along with my husband, rode in the WWII Sherman tank. This was a fabulous experience! They were thrilled and impressed with the ride. My son LOVED this museum! All the volunteers and everyone who works there was fantastic and very welcoming. We made a special 45-minute drive out to the museum while visiting Boston, and it was definitely worth it!

Absolutely amazing! It's not often you go somewhere and it exceeds your expectations. By far the most well done historical museum I have been to. My 7 and 9 year old were enamored by the vehicles, tanks, planes and all the other military items. So we'll put together. The 3 hours we spent there felt like 15 minutes. I can't say enough about this place. Thank you to the Collins foundation for such an amazing tribute to our armed forces!

AMAZING COLLECTION! Best $20 i ever spent. Some of their exhibits are not found anywhere else in the world or in some cases the only ones on display in North America making this museum truly unique. Some of the vehicles are in working condition. There are always staff available on the floor to answer questions. They have the Sd.Kfz 10 half-track used in "The Dirty Dozen" on display. Everything is kept really clean. The gift shop also has a lot of nice things. The hardest thing about getting to the museum is seeing all the BIDEN signs from the nearby towns. yuck.

This a great museum. Hands down! Displays are really well done in relevant settings (e.g. snow, sand, tank treads, etc.). It’s perfectly organized by the different wars while maintaining a spacious and thoughtfully designed interior. And equally important the staff is cordial, knowledgeable and polite as well. This is a gem!!!

American Heritage Museum was a great visit. That have a pretty amazing collection of hardware, some of it very rare indeed. The standouts for me were the M1A1 Abrams, T-72M (with turret still attached!), and SBD-3 Dauntless. All of the restored exhibits looked like they had done meticulously. The museum layout is really nice. You can look at the exhibits at ground level and from above on the second floor. Lights would change color, dim, and highlight specific exhibits when they were being referred to during narrations.

This is a must see for anyone with an interest in military equipment, vehicles and history, primarily covering World War Two to the first Gulf War. An amazing collection of vehicles that are in great condition, beautifully displayed in mini-vignettes, with good lighting and backdrops. Most vehicles you can stand right next to, and many you can peer into from the walkways above or from open hatches and doors. The docents stationed throughout the exhibits were knowledgeable and friendly, eager to share their knowledge and to answer questions. There were also a few short movies that do a nice job interweaving personal stories against historical context. We brought our teenage daughter and she was engaged for the 2+ hours we were onsite.

Just absolutely amazing, whether your into tanks, planes, light vehicles, artillery, uniforms, etc…. They have it and it’s all amazing to see. The collection is also amazing with some really rare stuff like the panther, panzer 1, and Ho-Ro. Some tanks even have battle damage to see and some can drive. The layout of the museum is also really cool where it take you from WW1 to modern day, and the extra exhibits are also very well put together. The staff was also very nice talking to them and learning about each tank and plane. Me and my family loved it, and the place has a very nice gift shop. Was definently worth the drive and money! 10/10

Excellent military museum. Clean, well set up and the volunteers were great. Also although small the gift shop is nice and they have veterans discounts. It is in the middle of nowhere and the long private street that it's on isn't well cleared of ice and snow though. Also the beginning parts of the museum are overly orchestrated and regimented so the customer can't really read signs or take photos during the Revolutionary War/Civil War/WWI and Pre-WWII parts. The presentations are well done, but I prefer to go through museums at my own pace and not be herded around.

Really fun museum to go to if you are into American history. Almost all vehicles are operational and a considerable amount are the only ones in the United States. Outstanding collection of armored vehicles, planes, missiles, etc. It's nice to visit a facility where the staff is very friendly and welcoming. It's obvious they want to be there to ensure a nice experience. Be sure to visit the 'Hanoi Hilton" exhibit within the museum. It is very well designed and executed. My son and I participated in the tank driving experience and that was fantastic. Ken was out driving instructor and did an excellent job of training us to drive the tanks. He is very knowledgeable about armored vehicles and his demeanor makes him perfectly suited to work with the public in this endeavor. Kudos to Ken! I could write for hours about the fun we had driving the tanks and the subsequent conversations on the ride back home. However, I encourage everyone to visit this museum and to experience the tank driving program and create your own memories! Thank you Ken!

Absolutely excellent museum... Very well laid out exhibits. Relatively inexpensive admission fee...$20 for adults, $18 for senior citizens and a deep discount for children. Museum is focused on military history and they display a large number of armored fighting vehicles, planes, artillery and other military equipment. Their gift shop is small but prices are relatively inexpensive. I bought a t shirt for $20. An idea for additional items in the gift shop might be to offer a selection of books for visitors who might want to learn more about military equipment. My son and I drove 7 hours from southern Pennsylvania to Massachusetts, spent about 2-1/2 hours in the museum and drove home the next day. Well worth the expense in money and time to see one of the best private military vehicle collections in the United States.

World class museum! Amazing displays and lighting, incredibly rare tanks and vehicles, super friendly staff and docents. This is no warehouse with some vehicles parked in rows... the presentation is the best I've seen. The American Heritage Museum is simply a jaw-dropping experience. There is a treasure around every corner and it's nearly always something you never thought you'd ever get to see in person. The lighting and displays are stunning - they've made the place beautiful. Oh, and did I mention tank rides? :)

It’s very educational Museum for older children and adults as well. It can tell you the story how the military equipment has been involved in the years, also showing the terrible experience soldiers had to face during the World War I. The staff was very friendly, and some of the vehicles exhibited in the halls quite unique and historical. The only huge improvement we could recommend would be to add. vehicles where small kids can get in to and pretend that they can operate it.

Impressive collection - on par with other national museums across the country. It’s so common for private collections to have one-of-a-kind artifacts or collection items but for these items to be on display to the public - so very cool! I’m thankful the collection is publicly available and it’s local. Our experience was excellent from start to finish! The museum has a clearly marked “suggested” path visitors can follow to showcase how these armored machines have transitioned over the years. Entering the exhibit, you will have an included video introduction with a 4D snippet (think rumbling ground and flashing lights). I was impressed that this was included & considered part of the experience (does not charge extra to go through). Big shout out to the staff who were friendly, knowledgeable and not condescending! We had the opportunity to meet one of the lead education material developers; he was a super nice guy! All and all, we spent about 4 hours here. It was a great place to spend an afternoon! Looking on their calendar, there seems to be lots of fun community events, presentations from veterans at a reasonable price. I got the impression that the museum is family oriented and all about honoring those who have served. I can really get behind that.

Fantastic museum with an unmatched collection of tanks from all eras since WWI. The exhibits are really well done, informative. I've been twice and am always impressed. The one thing I wish was different is the access to the hangar/plane collection, which I have not seen. From the information on their website, they have a really good mix of planes. Unfortunately, they only open it up about 6x per year on special event days.

Stumbled across this museum a short 45-60min drive from Boston. Wow what a collection of equipment, tanks, and planes. Most items rare or the only example in North America. They have a Scud Missile on a transporter! A Panzer and a T-55 next to an M1A1 and a Sherman! The history and video presentations are great! Experience a WWI trench and the birth of the tank(younger children might want to skip directly to the main floor). The museum curators do great job telling local veterans stories and tying the collection to the battles of the American Revolution that took place nearby. Highly recommended for any tourist or local.

This is an amazing museum for tanks and other military vehicles from World War I through the present along with some other artifacts. Lot's to see including a Mark V German Panther tank, a couple of Russian T-34's, a Modern Abrams MBT and even a scud missile launcher among many others. Some of them are the only one of their kind in the US and have been lovingly restored. According to the great veteran volunteers who are a wealth of information many of the vehicles are even able to be started and driven. A must visit destination!

Easily in the top 10 museums I've ever been to. Everything was extremely well done from the moment you walk in. It starts with a general overview video which then leads into an interactive WW1 trench with more videos. That area then opens up to the museum floor that has a chronological progression of tanks and other vehicles throughout US conflicts from WW2 all the way up to modern times. There are a few movies that cycle through the middle of the exhibit that showcase individual displays via special lighting. There were a few guides walking around with their own specialty (many with actual military background). One of the best parts of the museum was how close you can get to all of the displays. We easily spent the day here and could have come back for another to properly go through all the displays. Tickets were $20 per person and I think it was worth every dollar. I hope to come back soon and see the rest of the museum.

The best collection of armor and vehicles I've ever seen, the American Heritage Museum has various artifacts from the Revolutionary War to the War in Afghanistan. This is the perfect way to learn about American military history and is a favorite for my 11 year old son and me. We often attend their events and reenactments. The staff and docents are super nice and extremely knowledgeable. There are immaculate public restrooms and ample accomodations for those who are wheelchair bound. During regular days, there is no good service, so plan accordingly. However at their events, they typically have a vendor providing reasonably priced food service. From a family perspective, I have seen many families with young kids visit. All exhibits are tastefully done in a family friendly way which is very impressive given the potentially graphic nature of combat history. I applaud the museum for doing things right, getting the historical facts across without any display of gore or other visuals that would be typical of Hollywood war movies. They have a great gift shop with apparel, block models (not Lego), patches, custom "dog tag" making (which I had one made for my son) and many more items for purchase as a way to remember your fun time at the museum. If you're looking for something different and educational, I highly recommend making the time to visit the American Heritage Museum not just once, but many times.

This was a very nice, well thought out museum. It isn't a huge museum but there are a lot of interesting, historical pieces that will keep you interested for about 2 hours or so. There is a brief film at the beginning and then a trench warfare simulation exhibit that was really cool but might be a bit much for little ones. After that, there is one big room with dozens of military vehicles, artillery and support vehicles. It is cool that they open some of the doors and hatches so that you can see the interior of the tanks, have platforms above some of the pieces so you can see into them and the Sherman "workshop" simulating them regunning a tank was very interesting as well. I would highly recommend an afternoon here if you are into that sort of thing!

Such a great way to spend an afternoon. I was fortunate enough that the day I came in was the day the museum was honoring World War II veterans. So many wonderful people and so many great stories! So much to see. Definitely worth a visit!

The collection of artifacts & armored vehicles is absolutely amazing. The docents are a wealth of knowledge; a lot of them are veterans & history majors so definitely take advantage of that. They truly enjoy educating the visitors and will love to answer all your questions. Don't miss the orientations theaters; the WWI trench experience is intense.

The visit in the museum exceeded my expectations! The collection of tanks and military equipment is very impressive and well set. The restoration is at the grade of art! Add to it the volunteers which were very kind and with a lot of knowledge. I spent 3 hours there and didn't get enough of it. Highly recommended!
