This is a gem of a shop, the service is first class, the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The staff make it an enjoyable shopping experience but without making you feel pressured into buying. We visited this lovely shop looking for some clothes for a holiday. I came away with more than I’d planned - four pairs of trousers and a shirt. When I lived in Northampton the shop had a reputation as a posh, older mans outfitters. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a much wider customer base is catered for. Their choice of chino type trousers is unsurpassed, with most colours and designs available in all measurements and leg lengths. The range of colourful shirts has to be seen to be believed, and they have loads of shorts and T shirts as well. We travelled from Milton Keynes having been disappointed with what was on offer at the shopping centre. The lady who served us was like a personal shopper, helpful and knowledgeable but not pushy. We will definitely return when I need some autumn/winter clothes.

The first time I visited this store was 21 years ago this Christmas, purchased myself my first smart long black coat. At 22 years old, it was a hefty purchase but one I’ve never regretted. Still have that coat today. More recently I’ve purchased some lovely trousers and a great blazer, shirt & tie. Love this shop and love the absolute personal attention you receive. Will keep visiting every time I want to add that something special to my wardrobe.

A beautiful men's outfitters. The moment I stepped inside the door the smell took me back to my youth and a "proper" shop. All the staff were helpful and friendly, in particular Patrick who assisted me in choosing a lovely pair of needle cords, a waistcoat and an ivory shirt. Thoroughly recommended indeed

Super service, Patrick was very knowledgeable and helped me get suitable trousers for an event, he knew my size by looking at me, He also had plenty of useful advice, the clothes I tried on and bought seem very good quality (more sustainable). Though pricing is on the higher side in my case it was worth it.

I visited this establishment because I wanted to buy my father a cap before I returned back to my country. The person who greeted me (it was a lovely lady, I apologize, but I cannot recall your name) was very helpful. My only regret is that I was on a tight time schedule and I was not able to browse the store... Oh, and my father loves the cap 😁

6 meetings a year, a pair of striped morning trousers and wool jacket and waistcoat. Great fitting service by Patrick, a helpful and friendly person who knows his craft. I walked out with a great fitting, quality 3-piece suit that feels great on. Thoroughly recommend and reasonably priced, too. There’s no doubt that Montague Jeffery is the place to go for quality suits and accessories with exceptional service. Most of the men in our wedding group have purchased their suits from here. Each have been fitted professionally and found suits that fit well and look great. The staff went above and beyond for one of our party who was unable to shop in person due to medical reasons. Visited here a week ago and purchased a suit. Firstly, the level of service is unparallelled; the owners and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable on sartorial trends but are not pushy. Secondly, they have a very broad selection of suits, ties, dinner jackets and so on. Thirdly, prices are very reasonable; I've seen designer 100% polyester suits at a higher price point than what I paid for a 3 piece poly/wool blend suit here, which is built to last. I have been to major suit outlets like Suit Direct and Suit Supply and on price and service, they just can't compete with MJ. I'm not from Northampton but will travel down again just for a suit. Please support independent businesses!

A lovely retail experience!! Like so many these days I resist tackling the parking and other hurdles involved in shopping in Northampton town centre. But upon requiring some gloves I thought lets pop to town and call in at “Montague’s” So glad that I did…….. A selection of colours and styles properly explained by Jonathan accompanied by a perfectly enjoyable chat about things leather and Northampton related. What a treat, made me feel remiss about not getting off my bum and doing proper face to face retail more often. ( I do not mean the grudging grunts that many multiple outlets consider to be customer service). I really cannot recommend Highly enough this traditional establishment, with a contemporary stock selection, and a warm welcome. Well Done.

First time shopping here for a new jacket at the weekend. It's a great shop and I was very well looked after. The staff were very knowledgeable in helping me pick the correct jacket which took some time Great shop and can see why it has stood the test of time. Will be back in near future.

I ventured into Northampton today to try and find a pocket square. Found every other shop to have very little or no choice and be very expensive. Popped into Montague Jeffery on the off chance and was delighted I did so. The customer service and expertise I received was second to none. Even on a low price item like a £10 pocket square, I was treated as importantly as if I were buying a suit for 100s of pounds. My partner and I visited for the first time last week. Looking for a shirt and tie for a wedding. Straight away, greeted and helped to choose the perfect shirt / tie combinations. Came out with two of each! The shop itself is beautiful inside and out, with the most amazing shop fittings. I will definitely be back. I need to get a couple of “Pocket Squares” to match the shirts.
