Our stay at Herdade do Ananas was wonderful! We enjoyed the peaceful grounds, the pineapple tour and the gardens with relaxing seating. We ate dinner both nights at the restaurant and both meals were among the best we had on the island! Our room was spotlessly clean and roomy with very comfortable beds. Edgar was attentive and served a delicious breakfast with a variety of fruits, baked goods, cheese, cold cuts and eggs (cooked to taste). We would definitely stay there again!

We stayed for two nights at the lovely Hotel de Ananás during our week long trip to Sao Miguel. Of the five hotels we stayed at, this was our favorite. The staff was courteous and warm, the breakfast was delicious, and the bed and pillows were the best on the island. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the pineapple farm and soaking in the jacuzzi amongst the pineapples. The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable, including offering early access to the jacuzzi and robes when we arrived early and packing us a breakfast when we had an early whale watching tour. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone considering a trip!

What a lovely place to stay 🧡 Great rooms, nice little restaurant with the best dishes we had so far on the Azores. Especially Philip and Edgar did a great job during our stay, we recommend the Ananas Tour around the property. And of course the pineapple juice 😬 It felt like home for us and we will definitely return.

Had a great stay with very friendly staff. We traveled with a 3 year old and had everything perfect for her too. Breakfast was amazing and the atmosphere is top notch and the airconditioning was great so we slept better. When you want to eat dinner they got you covered to. One of the best food we ate in the Azores.

It was a very convenient and relaxing stay. The staff is very kind and helpful. The pineapple tour was much more interesting than I expected. Carlos from the staff gave us great recommendations for the dinner in hotel and told us nice stories about the history of the island. The outside fireplace was very soothing. They had 8 rooms at the time, so there was always a calm, relaxing mood. I highly recommend it.

This is not just a hotel - it's an experience. Fantastic, personalized service. Comfortable rooms. Delicious dinners with fresh, local ingredients. Bourbon by the bonfire. A pineapple greenhouse jacuzzi. They even make their own pineapple wine. I wish I could give this place six stars.

What a wonderful, restful stay! Very warmly welcomed by Luis upon arrival, and shown to my very spacious room!!! Whole hotel was immaculately spotless! Smells amazing too! A few cozy nooks for reading too! Heating in the room was great, maybe even a little much on my second night so had to leave the window open to cool down the room. Had a short but sweet tour of the plantation with enthusiastic Andrea. Made me want to come back in summer when the fruits are at their sweetest! The in-house restaurant Rustico served a rather limited but adequate selection of very tasty dishes (had triggerfish the first night and steak the next), and also offered delicious cocktails! Never got the names of the lovely two servers/bartenders but the lady with the tattoos made me a yummy pineapple gin cocktail that I had to order seconds. Breakfast was more than adequate and had a nice variety. Bikes were available for free rental but didn’t get to use it, and instead took a slow walk to the recommended seafood restaurant - Cais 20. The pièce de resistance has to be the jacuzzi in a glasshouse surrounded by pineapple plants, even though it was a fully occupied, managed to have the pool all to myself on both evenings. The piped-in zen music just added to the spa-like experience. My wishlist for an even more perfect stay: - pineapple toiletries (my driver-guide raved about this when she dropped me off so was a tad disappointed not to see it in my bathroom) - pineapple souvenirs - a window catch or something to prevent it from slamming in the wind when I had to cool down the room at night - more pineapple-based dishes - had some chocolate and pineapple dessert which was great, but felt so much more can be done to the menu using the fruit - Do Not Disturb sign to hang at the door when we wish to sleep in would be nice :D All in all, still a perfect stay to me! Amazing property with very professional and kind staff. We stayed in a family room (2 adults, 2 teenagers). Room is simple but very comfortable. The breakfast included with the room is by far the best breakfast we had on the island, and dinner at the hotel restaurant was amazing. Above all, the staff do a wonderful job of making you feel at home. We would happily stay here again.

5 star experience all around. A genuine slice of paradise in the city. The staff and management were incredible and so accommodating. They made our first day on the island so peaceful and enjoyable. The rooms are great, and the entire property is remarkably beautiful. The pineapple plantation area with the hot tub/jacuzzi is so unique. The restaurant exceeded all expectations. It has been our best meal in the Azores. Reasonably priced and everything was unbelievable. We have a new love of pineapple. We forgot something when we checked out and the hotel contacted us to let us know and were so accommodating when we came back days later to retrieve it. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I only wish we had stayed longer.

If you want to stay in Ponta Delgada, you MUST spend at least one night or two at Herdade do Ananas for an experience that is more special than staying in the heart of the city. Edgar is a wonderful host and makes you feel like a VIP guest and is accommodating to individual needs every step of the way. The same can be said for every staff member. The food was fantastic - and the included breakfast was better than any breakfast we've had during our 8-day stay on Sao Miguel.

It was great! Clean and beautiful room, delicious dinner, cool Jacuzzi! The personell was very friendly and gave us the feeling that they do whatever they can to make our stay there as nice as possible. Especially Edgar is a charm!

Beautiful hotel. They also have a pineapple plantation in the back. There is a hot tub inside one of the pineapple plantations. So much fun. You can pay to just use the hot tub if you are not staying at the hotel. It’s around €15.

Great place to stay, great staff to take care of you, espacially Edgar and Filipe, they really deliver amazing customer experience. The hospitality is top here. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty. The spa-jacuzzi offers you very nice relax after all day tracks. We recommend this place for 100% and will come back again! Obrigado.

This is an exceptional hotel. We didn’t plan to stay longer than 1 day as we wanted to visit entire island but they caught us for more nights - they break to the pieces the competition around. I won’t say anything new than reviews below: breakfast was just great - you will find everything what you want. Staff is lovely. Room fulfill every need (big plus for towel dryer!). Jacuzzi is such a great idea to do it in the greenhouse - congratulations to the idea-maker! We highly recommend if you want to rest in the unique place, with a free parking (hard to find parking spaces in the area) and to learn more about pineapples. I would love to come back :)

This hotel is amazing. So beautiful with a lovely pineapple plantation and garden. There is a Jacuzzi in one of the greenhouses, which is awesome. The restaurant is delicious. Pineapple carpaccio starter is just wonderful. Edgar was very understanding when our flight was delayed and we arrived at 1am and when we woke up late due to jetlag. We will definitely try to come back here again.

Clean, beautiful and comfortable rooms (at a great price) The staff is very kind and helpful. Tasty breakfast. We did a tour of the pineapple plantation to understand the process and it was very interesting. the Beach is 1 km away (bikes can be borrowed) highly recommended!

Five star experience for this three star hotel! While the rooms are fairly small and minimalistic, the hospitality and THE FOOD are amazing! Breakfasts were delicious and the dinners were knock-out. We ended up eating at the restaurant three nights in a row and tried a lot of items on the menu…you can’t go wrong with anything but the tuna is incredible. We enjoyed the pineapple tour and bathing in the jacuzzi. We stayed in a suite with a balcony and I would have loved a full length mirror, mini-fridge and coffee in the room - but overall these are minor things that didn’t detract from our experience. Unbeatable value and would highly recommend.

Just wow! This boutique hotel and its restaurant are simply supreme – yet so modest. A unique experience out of this world. Simple, rustic, but so elegant, so perfect, so harmonious.
