We had a nice meal here on Sunday. Nice, relaxing atmosphere, tasty starters and mains. Although there was a slight mixup with my main course, it was sorted soon afterwards by the staff who were excellent, and we got a complimentary drink at the end. If you're in Carvoeiro, you should definitely give them a try 😋

Being of Indian descent, I am confident walking into any Indian restaurant and ordering some of my ‘home’ cuisine. Although I do eat spicy food and do a lot of cooking at home as well, I am critical of Indian food served in a restaurant. My curiosity was trying the Nepalese twist as that was a first for me. The food was very well prepared with the right combination of spices. Very tasty. Nice size portions. One observation though; the food was extremely spicy, even for my taste buds. We ate all our food though my wife and daughter were sweating slightly once the spice hit them. The table next to us returned their meal twice requesting for milder taste. Be careful when ordering the spice level you may be used to. This will be spicier! Very tasty indeed and worth multiple visits.

An amazing restaurant with plenty of choice of Indian and Nepalese dishes on the menu. Extremely lovely service from Bisshnu who was very friendly and attended to us making sure we had everything we needed from start to finish. He really made our dining experience wonderful. Would definitely come here again!

Where do I even start? The staff was so polite and friendly from the beginning, the food was delicious and it arrived super fast! Not to mention the fact that the servings were quite generous, especially for the starters. In the end they also treated us with a couple of desserts and some port wine.

I have visited Gurkha Kitchen twice this month, booking on both occasions by email, which got a very swift response. Both times, the restaurant was very busy, but we were accommodated in the seating that I had requested in my email, which was really nice and much appreciated. The food here is stunning. Tandoori chicken and Lamb Sukuti starters were glorious. I haven’t tasted better anywhere. For the main course, my companion had Ghurkali Mixed Grill Special sizzling dish, which was amazing. Plenty of variety, with a tikka sauce on the side, so a lovely meaty dish. The taste was so aromatic and fragrant. He would definitely have it again and would recommend it highly. I had Lamb Khasi, which was also a gorgeous choice. The spices were just perfect and it really hit the spot. Accompanied by mushroom pilau rice, it was very satisfying. The food was coupled with a white house wine, which was so mellow and Cobra beer, which is always a favourite. Ghurka Kitchen is on Rua das Amoreiras, a street on a hillside in Carvoeiro town centre. There is ample space for parking in the locality. The restaurant itself is so spacious and has a beautiful patio area, which is very large and airy, and there is protection overhead in case of rain. I had two all round great experiences here during this holiday. Staff can’t be praised highly enough. Very attentive to the clients and just happy to go the extra bit to ensure customer satisfaction. They are very busy, which is obvious, but will happily make time to chat and take a photograph, when requested by customers. I would definitely recommend Ghurka Kitchen to anyone who appreciates relaxation, comfort and cares about good food.

Quality food and attentive service. Heat levels for the curries are indicated on the menu, if you have a tandori dish the waiter will ask how hot you would like the sauce to be. If you like good Indian cuisine then this restaurant is highly recommended.

So good. We followed the trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Try the chhwela wochha nepalese starter. It’s either chicken kr lamb in a lentil pancake. It was out of this world! We shared it today, but next time we are getting ine each. We did the chicken and it was so tender and the sauce was lovely. We also ordered the vegetable samosa with spicy sauce, they were very nicely cooked. Finally we had the mixed grill. It was solid. Very reasonably priced. Well done!

Extensive selection of dishes available on the menu. We like to try different specials and we we're not disappointed. The Himalayan Cham Cham is amazing. Tender chicken with peppers in a creamy yet spicy sauce. Beautiful!!

Gurkha was a fantastic dining experience with some of the most authentic and flavorful dishes we've had in a while. In particular, the lamb Chhwela Wochha was a unique and satisfying treat, and the Saag Paneer was one of the best we've had in the world. The staff are all friendly and very attentive; when one of the dishes wasn't quite to our liking, they went truly above and beyond to make us happy. We would heartily recommend this place, and hope to pass by again one day!

Nestled atop an incline, you'll find a delightful Nepalese and Indian restaurant. The setting boasts a spacious patio, perfect for a wonderful evening meal. With exceedingly friendly service and a delectable array of dishes, you're in for a treat. Just take a look at the abundance of food we've received! The restaurant keeps its doors open until 11 pm, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely dining experience. Wishing you an incredibly enjoyable meal!

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. The prawn tikka masala was so tender and flavourful and stood out to us out of all the amazing dishes we tried. Servers were very kind as well. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!

We visited this wonderful place on 10 of May, 2023. Atmosphere is nice and calm. The food was great and out of this world! We like Indian and a little bit spicy food and everywhere we travel we try food in Indian restaurants, and this place is amazing! The restaurant team is very friendly and cares about customers always asking if everything is fine. Definitely recommend this place. P.S. 4 euro for big bottle of water is a bit too much, but it was hot day, so we needed to stay hydrated anyway. All best wishes and many thanks! Gelena and Jakov from Estonia

We came here as we rarely get the opportunity to enjoy Indian food and we had walked past this on one of our morning walks. The menu is a good size, with plenty of options for vegetarians and is very informative about the level of spice you can expect. The service was very friendly, helpful and attentive and couldn't be faulted. We also had some wine and mint chocolates after our meal, on the house, which was a lovely touch and made us feel welcome. We tried the shahi paneer, vegetable biryani, peshwari naan and mango lassi. All of these were very tasty and well-presented, and we were particularly impressed by the biryani. We both agreed that the food here was great quality, great value, and better than home! Overall, we would highly recommend coming here if you enjoy Indian food, we only wished we could have come here with all the family, as being able to order a number of dishes and share would have made the experience even better.

Lovely place. We had been here in the afternoon for lunch. Had ordered Shahi Panner, Dal tarka , roti, chicken biriyani and drinks. Biriyani was good 😋. Friendly service. Unfortunately they don't have momos in veg/vegan option .

It’s quite refreshing to try out new type of cuisine im Portugal. Decent pricing great tasting mixed meat dish. Drink menu is basic and quite pricey so I’d come here to eat. 4.90 euro mineral water is a lot of Portugal.

Very nice! Service 10 stars, Dimitrii was very knowledgeable, and very well equipped for vegan. Robin and Bissnu was also very lovey and his knowledge for porto wine was amazing! Will definitely recommend!!!

We visited on a Saturday night after seeing the restaurant mention in the local Inside magazine. We walked up earlier in the day to book a table. We would have gotten in without a booking, it was busy but not full. For drinks we ordered a wine and a large beer, I went for Super Bock, they have Cobra but it's considerably more expensive. The ordered two starters, a meat main, two veggie side dishes, naan and a rice. Meat starter was Lamb Sekula, recommended, quite hot and the veggie one was mixed veg pakora, very tasty. Mains were two veggie side dishes the mattar paneer and the tarka dahl and lamb Daa:Kula curry. I went for lamb as there was a lot of it on the menu and seemed to be their speciality and boy was I glad I did, so so good. There might have been a second beer too! Excellent food. Amazing service. You can chose mild, medium or spicy for your dishes.

Wow! We've never had Nepalese cuisine before and we were not disappointed. What new and interesting flavors. Items on the menu marked "highly recommend" are rightfully endorsed. My carnivore husband was very happy with the mixed grill which arrived sizzling to the table. Might have to visit again before we leave.

We ate here several times during our stay in Carvoeiro. The food was always delicious and the staff welcoming and helpful. I really appreciated the flexibility of the kitchen and tried paneer with several sauces that are not the the part of the usual vegetarian menu. Thank you!

Amazing food and very friendly staff. Make reservation if visiting in summer, can be pretty busy. We had momos as starter and one nepali lamb dish and butter chicken (a bit too sweet though) But overall food was delicious.

We ate in this restaurant yesterday evening, it was very busy and probably a little under staffed but that didn’t impact on our experience. The food was probably the one of the best curries I have ever had. That includes eating in India. Every part of my food had clearly discernible flavours, the keema Nan was so amazing I had that before I had my dinner it so delicious I couldn’t put it down 😂 whilst the staff were incredibly busy they we very welcoming and polite. I would recommend this restaurant 💯 do yourself a favour if you are in the area and give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.

One of the best, most flavoursome and delicious curries we've ever had and we get one a week from Bradford area. Well known for such cuisine. Onion bhajis were a bit crumbly and chapatis were on the small side but I am slitting hairs. Please give these guys a try!
