Small
modern
theater
which
hosts
all
kind
of
shows
throughout
the
year.
It's
curatorship
is
sometimes
inescrutable
in
its
strategy,
and
shows
don't
seem
to
have
much
coherence
nor
establish
a
dialogue
between
them
(and
are
quite
spaced
out).
But
one
will
eventually
find
something
of
interest
in
its
program.
The
ticket
office
is
inside
the
foyer.
There
is
a
small
bar/café
to
the
left,
and
toilets
are
one
floor
down.
The
whole
building
is
accessible.
The
building
was
designed
by
arch.
Gonçalo
Byrne
and
opened
in
2005
when
the
city
was
elected
European
Capital
of
Culture.
It
is
not
only
the
best
equiped
theater
of
Faro,
but
also
of
the
Algarve,
allowing
the
region
to
widen
the
range
of
shows
it
can
host.
It's
name
"Teatro
das
Figuras",
was
borrowed
from
a
nearby
heritage
building
known
as
Palácio
das
Figuras,
both
palace
and
theater
standing
in
the
same
former
estate.
There
is
a
convenient
car
park
behind
it.
